Chapter 11
Harry walked outside his hideout and looked at the corridor.
At the front and the back, he inspected every inch of this corridor.
He could see spider webs in the corners, the dust on the ground.
The Young Peverell instantly noticed one mistake he did, and that is his and Cho's footprints were visible on the ground.
In his mind, he instantly came up with several ways of covering this, but once again it will take time to do so…
For now, he decided to beef up the doors, the best way to do so is security cards…
First, he inscribed a runic circle on the door, and an identical one on the wall, he finished with a magic bridge.
This alone would suffice for more than a simple lock, no simple charm would unlock this, as the circles are isolated from outside magic interference.
But, this won't protect the doors from magical attacks, the likes of Bombarda or anything like that would shatter the doors.
That's why Harry decided to go all out and started inscribe circles upon circles on the doors, pushing the limit of the wood it's made out.
Even making identical looks on the other side connect through magic circle duplication…
Meaning that lock on the inside will unlock at the same time as the door lock on the outside. There are of course multiple fail-safes…
While Harry was going above and beyond for these doors, Cho was treated to one best shows in the world in her eyes.
It was not flashy by any chance, but seeing Harry writing with a needle-like pen at extreme speed was utterly mesmerising, and by end of it the doors which were simple wooden ones transformed into a masterpiece of Runemancy.
"This should do it," Harry said that as he looked at his handiwork.
"...Are you sure you didn't overdo it?" The second-year asked with slightly widened eyes.
"Not at all, I haven't transformed the doors into Mythril, instead I had to work with wood." He said that with a smile.
"...How much more you could do with... Goblin silver?" The girl asked with a gulp.
"Theoretically… I could build door's capable of taking a Nuclear bomb." He said that with a casual shrug.
"It's more difficult to build anti-magic doors, but I already have a theory how to negate magic in general." He said that with a knowing look, and he is quite giddy to return to that work.
"Nuclear Bomb?..." The girl tried to process, that it was hard to believe but her awe in him turned that disbelieve into belief after seeing his handiwork in person.
After finishing with the doors he returned to his hideout.
Harry took Cho to his workshop where he showed how he create cards to unlock the doors.
He on purpose made them Blue and Bronze with Eagle symbol on it.
They were quite simple looking, but Harry is planning to create a proper system where card uses are recorded.
After all, this place will grow over the next 7 years.
"Here, this one is for you, just put this card next to that specific brick and the doors will unlock." Harry handed over the blue card to the girl.
"Umm, is there a way to identify the specific brick?" Cho asked with slight blush, as she was embarrassed to ask such a thing.
"Right… I should probably mark it." He had a thoughtful look for a second.
"Yes, it would save time looking for it…" She quickly agreed to his words, the raven-haired girl doesn't want to look silly by brushing the card along the brick wall… looking for a specific one just to open the doors which might or might not be around the area… just thinking about that makes her embarrassed…
After making the cards Harry went outside and marked a specific brick where the unlocking Array is.
More specifically he marked one next to it, as he didn't want to damage it.
"Right with this, you should be able to find it."
"Yes, thank you, Harry! We should return to the Common room, otherwise people will get suspicious and I need to do my homework too."
Harry nodded at her, the girl still is a goody-two-shoes, well he will convert her eventually…
Soon, enough both of them left towards the Ravenclaw Tower.
The Peverell remembered that tomorrow is Friday and his first Potion class is up.
'I guess I should prepare for that…'
~~~
After returning to Ravenclaw Tower, Harry went straight to his room where he prepared books for the next day, he focused mostly on potions, recalling things from the books and movies and cross-reference with the books he has on hand.
Since it's going to be with Hufflepuffs he is not that worried that Snape will be biased in this class, since neither it was Slytherin or Gryffindor…
Once these small preparations were done he checked the homework he had to do.
Harry grimaced as he realised that he needs to write with a quil and ink.
He thought about this for a moment, the young Peverell quickly came up with a solution.
His technomancy kit has multiple runic pens, so he only needed a simple transmutation on one and he had a pen that writes with ink.
After that, he quickly filled up the parchments required for homework.
He found it quite easily homework, all he had to do is write an essay…
Nothing like homework from his previous life, where one had to solve equations on daily basis, Hogwarts doesn't even have math classes, to begin with!
So, he only wasted less than an hour on all of that, before he could return on important stuff.
Since he knew direction how to work with the magic negating array, what he still tried to work on is how to apply it to his tech.
"Hmm, if am to inscribe it in ring fashion around the piece of tech?"
"But, that would be very inconvenient…"
For the next couple hours, Harry tried multiple variations of magic negating arrays.
He was able to find a method of negating the flow of magic, but two downsides appeared after that.
One is that he can't use magic from outside this array, since it's going to act like a wall.
And the second one is that he will need to improve the capacity of his batteries once again…
The best part of all of this is that he grasped what he needs to do! To move forward!
Just like how he finished his first computer this is going to be a very, very long term thing…
Because the more he thinks about the capacities of magic negativing runes the more ideas he comes up with.
"Potter! Lights off!"
"Okay!"
Harry grinned when he saw the array on the door come to life the moment his surname is mentioned alongside 'lights off' or 'bedtime'...
After hearing the reply, the prefect walked away Harry collected his stuff from the table and stored it in his storage ring.
Then he turned the lights off and pulled out his utility belt and turned the invisibility on.
The moment it was all clear he sneaked out to his workshop, he has things to do after all.
~~~
Once Harry was back in his workshop he spend the rest of the night, making his tech workable for Hogwarts surroundings.
The hardest piece of this is how to apply the concept to his tech.
Eventually, he came up with a simple concept of 'armour'.
He is going to put armour around his tech, which will safeguard his technomancy from outside interference.
Theoretically, he could make perfect armour against any type of magic.
If anyone would learn of this outside of him he knows a shitstorm would hit him hard and fast.
From being branded the next Dark Lord, to Dumbledore telling him how dissapointed he is…
Well, that depends on what type of Dumbledore is, as he could see his discovery being something horrible.
That image alone made him chuckle from amusement, he would pay to Dumbledore to say 'how disappointed he is.'
For shits and giggles!
First Harry inscribed the runic arrays on the laptop.
It took a couple of hours how to do it, as his laptop was already what is considered 'apex design'.
By 'apex design' there is barely any space for any extra arrays, as Harry went through multiple designs for his laptops.
In the end, he had to sacrifice the outside looks… quite contrary he took this on principle as the moment he turns on the laptop the runic arrays glow.
Making the laptop look more like a futuristic iMac, adding to overall style.
When he has time he will redesign the array with his symbol or something similar, it is time to create his trademark symbol, after all, he lives in a capitalistic world…
Magic or not…
By the morning Harry was finally done with his laptop he can finally continue with his work.
Harry returned to his dormitory before any of the prefects were around, he changed his clothes and put fresh uniform on.
After that, he checked his books for today before descending to the common room.
There was very few people which Harry didn't know so he ignored those and walked towards the main hall where he grabbed some breakfast.
'Right first class today is Magic History… and the teacher is a goddam ghost…'
'Maybe I will be able to do some more work in that class.'
The young Peverell thought about that more, he remembered that he had his Technomancy kit with him and so is his laptop with Magic Pod.
'Hmm, that might work, I should be able to have my Magic Pod working properly by end of classes and ready for evening…'
'It's so much easier to work with music…'
After finishing his breakfast Harry was drinking tea while reading a book on Norse Mythology…
The reason for that is that these Wizard books mention some runes from time to time, otherwise he won't be reading something he already has extensive knowledge of like Norse Myths…
"Morning Harry!"
His reading got interrupted by cheerful Ravenhaired upperclassmen of his…
"Morning Cho." He greeted the girl before returning to his reading.
"I was looking for you in the common room but the Prefects said you left quite early." The girl said with borderline pout, she wanted to leave the room together…
'Girls and their socialising…' Harry internally groaned, he remembered that Cho is a social butterfly… well becomes one in later years…
"Yes, I was here before eight in the morning."
'More like seventh thirty in the morning, not that they all need to know that…'
"That's so early! Classes start at 9! Don't you like sleeping?" She asked with disbelief, the girl could not believe there is someone who wakes up so early!
"Not really, I have things to do." He shrugged at her, if only she knew that the last time he slept was at the beginning of the week.
"Oh, is it related to your artefacts?" She asked curiously while taking her seat next to him, she started putting food on her plate.
"Yes, going to finish adjusting them to Hogwarts high magical density, then I will be able to make more of them." He explained to her.
"Are you going to start selling them?" She asked with interest, the girl knows he would make a fortune with all those artefacts!
"Not at all, I will need you and some other people to test them." He clarified to her.
"You want me to…test them?" Cho asked that as if she misheard him.
"Yes, since I am the only user so far I need people to find out if the system which runs them has any glitches."
"Glitches?"
"Yes, it's an error in a system, since the system inside the artefact is very complex and error can appear, for example, you been listening to music and all of the sudden the song freezes." He explained to her.
"Can that even happen? Its magic isn't it?"
"Not quite, its synthesised memory of song I heard, and it's stored in a specific memory container, when you press the buttons on the music artefact you interact with that memory."
"While it should not have any sort of error, they can appear, when you are looking for a new song while listening to one already."
"I see, I think I understood, so it's that complex…"
"It is, and it's packed into a size of a hand, if I am to use old fashion style it would be a size of classroom, but I packed it to a size of handheld item." He smirked while seeing her reaction to that!
"That's impressive…"
If only she knew how big his laptop should be if he is to use the classic style of runic drawings...
