Voice of the Sword

Rin looked at the dragon who was slowly opening its mouth.

'Is it really going to sneeze?'

With such a question in her mind, she moved from Evelin's side to Ron's and stood right behind him.

The young dragon tamer was still patting the dragon right next to its oversized nostril.

Rin was peeking at the dragon and could see the dragon opening its mouth hastily whilst pushing the hand of the dragon tamer away.

"It's gonna sneeze."

Rin took cover behind Ron's back. It was like she was standing behind a big mountain as her body was way smaller when compared to Ron's.

She glanced at the dragon quickly and noticed that it was just moments away from throwing all his saliva over them, that is, the sneeze was coming.

The slimy tongue inside the dragon's mouth was rising upwards signaling the coming of the sneeze.

'Now.'

Rin turned around and closed her eyes.

Right then a light voice entered their ears.

"Achoo~"

'Huh, that didn't sound like the dragon sneezing.'

Rin wondered as even though she hadn't heard a dragon sneeze before but clearly this wasn't it.

'I should have at least watched it sneeze.'

Rin who had taken cover before now regretted it after hearing the sound of the dragon's sneeze.

She glimpsed at the dragon and found its mouth closed just like before.

Walking out from behind Ron, she found her father rubbing his nose showing that he was the one who had sneezed.

The dragon tamer was still patting his dragon while talking to her parents.

She realized that the dragon had never sneezed.

'Was it an act?'

While questioning it in her mind Rin looked at the dragon who had a grin hidden under its reptilian face.

[ Girl ]

Rin suddenly heard a mysterious voice which caused her to look at her parents and the dragon tamer.

She realized that the voice was only heard by her. Rin started looking back at the crowd to find the owner of the voice.

[ Fool. Look at me.]

'Who?'

[ The one you thought would sneeze. HAHAHAHA.]

'The dragon.'

Rin turned back to look at the dragon and found it staring directly into her eyes.

Its pupil was just a vertical line now unlike the sword she had seen before.

[ Dragon? This little guy? Calling the descendant of Brother Shen Long as simply a dragon. What a TRAGEDY. ]

'I see.'

Rin realized that the one she was talking to wasn't the dragon as the voice referred to the dragon as the 'little guy'.

[ You see? Let me tell you something. I am the sword that you had seen before. I with Brother Shen Long ruled the fifth heavens. Do you understand? ]

'Yes, yes.'

Rin replied to the voice in her mind.

[ That's it? You should feel lucky, that I approached you. And yet you are just giving me tasteless replies. ]

Rin who had already gotten used to the voice echoing in her mind after exchanging words with the voice couldn't help it. She was excited but she didn't know how to show that excitement.

'No, it's not like that.'

[ I know what it's like. You are just a foolish little girl without any goals and nonexistent motivation. A little girl who doesn't know who she is talking to. ]

'...'

'You didn't even give me a chance to explain.'

Rin felt wronged as the voice just sounded harsh and unruly.

For a while, her mind had calmed down.

'Hello. Mister Sword?'

Rin thought but the sword didn't answer her.

'No reply. WOW.'

The small talk with the sword lasted for less than ten seconds but those ten seconds were more than enough to ruin Rin's mood.

Rin pouted which didn't go unnoticed by her mom, Evelin.

"Honey, what happened?"

Evelin asked Rin as in just a few minutes of entering the second entrance, Rin already had an uneasy look on her face.

Evelin thought of this as a chance.

'If she wants to go back, Ron would agree too.'

Evelin thought as she asked Rin again.

She hoped that Rin would say what she was thinking.

"Mom I was just wondering about the dragon, like, When will we ride the dragon? and How?"

"Oh, you wanted to ask me about that."

Evelin felt disappointed as she let out a 'tsk' from the side of her mouth and then looked back at Rin lovingly.

"Soon, when everyone's here."

Evelin told Rin while she nodded and looked back at the dragon's eyes, trying to find the sword pupil in its Iris.

Rin's eyes were filled with irritation as she looked at the eyes of the dragon but was unable to find the sword in them.

---- ---- ---- ----

After a while, the second entrance was also filled to the brim.

Thousands of people were standing next to each of the dragons while waiting patiently.

Two old men appeared and jumped on the backs of the first and second dragon while the young man jumped on the third dragon which was also where Rin and her parents were at.

'Clap.'

The three of them clasped their hands and then gently pushed their palms on the back of dragons.

BOOM!

The dragons instantly started floating as they straightened their bodies.

Their wingspan was so big that the whole area of the second entrance was enveloped by a shadow.

Soon leaving aside their wings and their head, a gigantic silver bubble had covered their bodies, and around the middle, a door appeared on the bubble.

"Wow."

Rin exclaimed as this looked nothing less than some amazing magic show.

The three beast tamers waved their hands simultaneously and a number was assigned to everyone.

🗣 Ladies and Gentlemen, Please enter the bubble and get a room allocated to you according to the number assigned to you. The destination is the 7th beast port in the Kingdom of Aztlan. The 'ETA' of the journey is 5 days and 7 hours.

After the announcement from the old man who was on the first dragon, everyone started entering the silver bubble through the door.

"Let's go."

Ron told his wife and daughter.

Rin was quite surprised by the events that were taking place.

'First the complaining voice, and now these silver bubbles....it's like these dragons are trying to cosplay as an airplane.'

Rin thought as the similarities were easily visible.

She walked behind her parents who were making their way towards the entrance of the silver bubble with the crowd, but her mind was somewhere else.

'Even an adult would have been confused while differentiating between a plane and these dragons.'

'The thick silver bubble is just missing some holes.'

Rin thought as she looked at the three dragons one by one.

"If some holes were there on the bubble..."

Rin's gaze followed around the middle part of the bubble.

"Then it would have looked like the windows of a plane."

She smiled as even though she was in a different world, the aesthetic nature of the humans remained the same.

'If there were holes on the Silver Bubble then these shen long's descendants would have been announced as just a bigger version of Boing-777 planes, back on Earth.'

Rin mumbled while being lost in her thoughts as she remembered the big planes from her world and compared them to these dragons.

-

While moving along with the crowd, it only took them 5 minutes to reach the entrance.

'Tap, Tap.'

Rin and her parents had finally entered the bubble through the door.

Right after entering the bubble Rin looked around and couldn't help but exclaim loudly.

"WOW."
