Chapter Sixty-four

Xiao Ying had escaped into the forests of this mountain range between Changping and Yingan and had successfully erased her traces and ensured that the people following her could not captured her. It was later that Xiao Ying had discovered that only she and her father could successfully survive and come out of this forest successfully. Xiao Ying had spent two months exploring this fabled forest before going out and finding her way to Changan and Fan Zhong. Being the chosen heir of her tribe, Xiao Ying also have a superb memory and it was her who teach Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi on how to survive and get out of this fabled forest.

That is why Ying Zetian have the confidence to use this way through the forest to reach Changping earlier. Throughout their journey, Ying Zetian had saw a few precious herbs and dig it out so she could bring it back to Xiao Ying. Xiao Ying had once draw out these herbs to Ying Zetian and said that it was a pity that when she was in this fabled forest, it was not the season to see these rare precious herbs.

Even Ying Zetian was surprised at this trip throughout the forest, every night when they rested. Ying Zetian will open her eyes next morning to see various wild animals that is slightly bigger, ahem, she should say way bigger than their counterparts living in other forests resting like a good little child beside her. Ying Zetian even once scoffed at Xiao Ying when she said that one of the effects of her baby gu worm has is total obedience of animals to her baby gu worm and its master. Ying Zetian makes a mental note to apologize to Xiao Ying when she reached Changan. For the first time it was a boa constrictor large enough to eat two one hundred-year-old tree into its stomach and is estimated to still have space for more food. Ying Zetian and her followers has rested three times throughout their journey through this fabled forest. The second time, a large king cobra rest beside Ying Zetian when she woke up the next day. And the third time, it was a sleek panther couple and their baby panther who rested beside Ying Zetian.

There were other smaller animals following Ying Zetian and her followers through their journey in this fabled forest but not closely. Very soon, Ying Zetian and her followers reach the entrance of this fabled forest that when they go down the mountain, they will reach the first city of Changping. Ying Zetian let the king cobra and boa constrictor went back into the forest as their size would scare the people out of their wits if they followed her into the first city of Changping, Anping. Ying Zetian then let her baby gu worm spray the power of forgetfulness over the rest of her followers so that they will totally forget they ever see her baby gu worm in action and their journey through this fabled forest.

There are two reasons why Ying Zetian did so, and distrust of her followers is not one reason. One, it should be distrust of humankind in overall, Ying Zetian must keep the secret of Xiao Ying. and if it were known that Ying Zetian had also learn the skill of this baby gu worm, it could attract the attention of the Rouran tribe who was still trying to capture back their next appointed leader. Not to said that Xiao Ying is important, it is just that she must be captured back to her tribe so that their secrets could be kept.

The tribe that was skilled in the art of gu medicine, their tortures could not be imagined as once told to Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi by Xiao Ying. So, all the more Ying Zetian must ensure that this secret that she knew how to grow her baby gu worm is always a secret. Second, of course, is to ensure that this fabled forest is still a fabled forest that no humans will dare to entered. Ying Zetian knew that her hands must be dirtied if she wanted leadership over the four countries and in a perverse way, Ying Zetian wanted to keep the animals or humans that she killed to a minimum if possible.
