Chapter Ninety-Three

Ying Zetian normally do not agree with the need for ostentatious displays of power. Especially the couple wedding outfit that Tang Wudi had designed with her favorite color black in mind to Ying Zetian looks grand but seems to be doing the job of the cleaners as they swipe along the floor while Tang Wudi was carrying Ying Zetian as he walks to the platform. But Ying Zetian knew better then to said anything as she knew her new dynasty need such ostentatious displays of power and no matter what today, is her ascension and wedding ceremony.

Zhang Qubing was the emcee of Ying Zetian and Tang Wudi's ascension and wedding ceremony, and he was already waiting at the platform for the imperial couple. Zhang Qubing was the typical elder brother behavior as Ying Zetian watched as Zhang Qubing held Tang Wudi in a bear hug. Ying Zetian was touched and wanted to laugh at the same time. Ying Zetian was touched as she had heard Zhang Qubing threatening to make Tang Wudi a eunuch if he dare to let down his younger sister. Ying Zetian wanted to laugh out loud as she saw Zhang Qubing slapping Tang Wudi on his back with enough inner strength to make Tang Wudi almost vomit out blood.

After the three bows individually each to heaven, Zhang Qubing in lieu of the parents of Ying Zetian and Tang Zhong as Tang Wudi's father(who seemingly enjoyed his life as the retired emperor and even if that is not the truth, Ying Zetian had enough confidence in herself and her men to keep control of Tang Zhong) and bowing to each other, even before Zhang Qubing could announce the end of the wedding ceremony, Tang Wudi had already grabbed Ying Zetian's face for a deep kiss. This action caused the citizens of Changan to start to cheer and wolf whistle loudly.

Ying Zetian had her men keep an ear to the ground of the mentality of her citizens by keeping track of their gossips. And Ying Zetian was definitely pleased by the reports of her men. Overall, there were still some die-hard people in Changan but overall, the citizens of Changan welcome the new dynasty. Especially in light of the actions that Ying Zetian ordered to be carried out and the fact that the citizens of Changan was feeling relaxed at not having the four gentry families hanging over their heads daily like the sword of Damocles. It was only when Ying Zetian was breathless and glaring at Tang Wudi, then Tang Wudi pulled himself reluctantly away from his Ying er sweet lips.

Ying Zetian then looked at the four heads of the once powerful gentry families of Tai Ping and looked hard especially at Shuang Guan Yi. If not for the fact that Ying Zetian had her men cut off the tongues of the four heads of the previously powerful gentry families, she could imagine the screaming that will be going on daily. In fact, a recent favorite sport of the citizens of Changan is to gather rotten eggs and vegetables daily so there could go onto the city walls and throw at the four heads of the previously powerful gentry families. Although Ying Zetian definitely had her men to keep a strict control on this sport as she do not want the chances of someone killing four heads of the previously powerful gentry families and releasing them from the torture of hanging on the city wall of Changan.
