I sat still on the same spot for hours . My hand trembled as I held on to that single strand of hair . It glowed like a firefly , burning my eyes euphorically . I was trying to get answers yet I ended up with more doubts and questions . How did she know my name ? Why did she give me a strand of her hair ? Who was she ? Most importantly , why did she ask if I could see her ?

I sighed as the cold air sent chills down my spine . I didn't want to go home . I wanted to see her again , ask her questions , hear her low Voice . I wanted to find her at all costs . Suddenly , I felt something on my arm . I looked to find a vine growing from the strand of hair . I tried to throw it away in a rush but failed miserably . The vine tightened around my upper body , almost suffocating me . I tried to call for help but it was too late , my lungs gave up . I fell on the ground lifeless .

"Do you understand now ?" I woke up startled at her voice . I looked around to see I was in perfect health , sitting on the same spot . The girl stood right where she had been .

"What just happened ?" Panic flooded me , anxiety coursing through my veins .

"Calm down , Clay . I just showed you an illusion ."

"What ? How ?"

She sighed and said ,"I warned you not to get involved . To prove my point further , I mentally tricked you into death . Now , are we clear ?"

That nervous , fumbling girl was nowhere to be found . There stood a confident , blunt young woman in front of my eyes . Her calculative eyes reminded me of a predator . But I wasn't one to back down .

"I'm not scared . Merely intrigued . Who are you ? What powers do you hold ?"

She bit down harshly on her bottom lip and hissed ,"You don't have any idea what I could put you through !"

"Answer me !" I stood up to face her .

I still wonder how I gained that much willpower back then .

"Fine . I'll answer ." She gave up faster than I predicted .

"First , tell me who you are ."

"I'm the descendant of Artemis , the Goddess of nature ."
