Parakeet

I didn't quite know what had gotten over me . I felt rage , annoyance and anxiety all together . A weird mixture of emotions . My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest . I felt ... alive . In all the 18 years of my life , I finally felt like a normal person . I felt like Clay Rodent 2.0 .

I was like a deer in the headlights when I came across a sudden figure .

"Wait ! You !" I practically ran a marathon to reach her . I grabbed her by the hand and turned her around . She let out a yelp of surprise and stumbled backwards . I caught her in time .

"I finally did it ! I found you !" A wide grin made its way on my lips . She batted her pretty eyelashes and cocked her head in confusion .

Then , she let out a gasp of disbelief and asked ,"Y-You can see me ?"

Her voice was the lowest I had heard . It was hoarse as well . As if she hadn't used it in ages .

"What ? Of course I can see you . I've been looking for you all these months ." She stood there perplexed .

"I have a lot to ask you . Let's sit down first ."

"What if you.." Her furrowed brows gave it all away .

"You just met me I know . But I promise I won't do anything . I just want to talk ."

We agreed to take a seat at a nearby park . She maintained her distance , fumbling with the hem of her sundress .

"First of all , your hair . Is it natural or did you dye it ?"

She gulped and replied meekly ," I was born with it ."

"The thing is , I'm colour blind . I can't see the colour Green . Yet I can see your hair ." Her eyes widened in shock .

"I don't see what I have to do with that ." She sounded extremely nervous .

"That isn't all . I felt something strong when I met you . My heart felt a bond . I longed to catch a glimpse of your face ." She coughed awkwardly .

"Sounds romantic but I hate those stories . I'm not trying to tell you pretty lines . I'm trying to discover myself . I need the answers . This is illogical ." I ranted on .

She abruptly stood up and said ,"You should seek help . You're having delusions ."

"B-But.. " She took out a strand of her hair and handed it to me .

"Here , you can have it . Since it fascinates you so much . Stop looking for meaningless answers . And don't get involved with me . Clay Rodent ."
