While I laid on my back looking up at the girl, I noticed that she looked way more different than any girl I had ever seen before. She was quite beautiful and her green hair flowed elegantly with the soft breeze as it went calmly through, she was purely captivating.
"Who are you and why are you here?" she asked.
I stopped examining the girl and I look up at her face, she didn't look entirely pleased to see me here.
"My name is Adam and to answer your question, I'm not quite sure," I responded.
The girl momentarily looks at me before pulling back on the drawstring of her bow and aiming it directly down at me. Although the situation is a little unnerving, I don't think that I'll die today. Considering how she was able to take me down so effortlessly, she could've killed me on the spot while I was on the ground.
"What do you mean that you aren't sure?" she asked me in an annoyed tone.
I sighed and looked at her.
"Listen I'm not even sure what this forest is or why it's so important, let alone why I'm here," I said as I looked at her.
After saying this the woman temporarily looked into my eyes as hers flashed a green color, I don't know why they did that but it ended with her lowering her bow so nonetheless it worked out. When she lowered her bow I looked up at her and I was met with a more nice look.
"So you're telling the truth," she said.
Though she said this in a way that made her sound a little surprised, I'm not sure why I'd be lying but I guess I'll figure that out when my time is ready. I look up at her as she holds her hand out to me, I slowly grab it and when I stood up I could now get a full view of her face. She was beautiful, her pale skin complemented he green eyes greatly as did her green hair. I had to stop staring at her since I think she started to notice.
"So which race do you belong to? I haven't met anyone like you before, at least not in person or anything," she said in a curious tone.
This confused me, I know I'm in another world but humans still exist here right? I look at her but before I answered her question I decided to ask one of my own.
"Wait, before I tell you, what's your name?" I asked her, wanting to know who she was.
The woman looked at me for a second before finally responding to me question, almost as if she waiting for something.
"My name is Auriel and I'm an elven huntress who lives it these particular parts of the forest," she said with elegant flare.
I held out my hand while still being on the ground and she sighed before grabbing it and helping me up onto my feet, I smiled at her as I stood then held out my hand.
"Nice to formally meet you Auriel, as I said before I'm Adam," I said with a smile on my face.
Auriel slowly takes my hand before shaking it, even though she looked a little confused at first. The beautiful elven woman looked at me and for a moment held onto my hand ever so gently.
"Um, are you okay?" I asked in a concerned tone.
I asked her this because I thought something was wrong but it turns out that wasn't the case entirely as Auriel looked at my hand. I couldn't figure out why because she was acting a little weird or maybe it's just not normal for her, I couldn't tell you.
"What was that?" she asks while tilting her head.
"What was what?" I asked back.
"The thing we did with our hands, what was that?" she once again asked back.
This baffled me, how did this woman not know about handshakes? Instead of being a sarcastic dick and saying something rude, I politely cleared my throat and explained to her what we had just done.
"So basically it's a way to show thanks or greet people, even ones you've never met before like me," I explained with a clear tone.
While I explained this she nodded her head along until she stopped me by putting a hand over my mouth.
"Okay, enough talking, I understand. Now back to my previous question, I want to know is who or rather what you are," she said in a clear tone.
I look at her and then point to myself with a thumb.
"I'm a human, you know a homosapien?" I asked, unsure if she knew about my "race" of people.
Auriel's eyes widened as soon as I said that and stepped back, she looked surprised to say the least or at the very least that's what her body expressed.
"No that's impossible, humans haven't been around for over a thousand years," Auriel said in shock.
I was surprised by this myself, I would've thought that we were still alive in some form or way.
"Are you serious? That can't be right because I know for a fact that I'm human myself."
Auriel looked at me and finally put the bow that she had kept in her hands on her back as she looked at me.
"I'm as serious as a needle viper bite," she said with her arms on her hips.
"I'm guessing that's serious?" I asked.
She nods her head and begins looking all over me, she pulls on my arms, raises up my shirt, and was about to unzip my pants until I stopped her.
"Hey! What are you doing down there?" I asked while holding her hands.
She looks at me and smiles.
"Humans haven't been seen in a thousand years, you're a rare find, which means I have to study you!" she exclaimed.
She said this in a tone that sounded a little more excited than I liked.
"What, why? I thought you were a huntress not a scientist?" I asked.
She wags her finger in front of my face.
"Poor human, a huntress can't truly be called a huntress until she knows the anatomy of all creatures including you. So this means that I got to take you home and explore you!" she said with the same amount of vigor as last time.
"Now hold on," I said as I stopped her.
She looks at me and I put my hands on my shoulders.
"Can you at least tell me where we are? I woke up just a few minutes ago, met you, then all of this happened and I don't even know where I am," I said.
She grinned then put her hand on my shoulder as she spun me around.
"This is called "The Forest of Forgotten Dreams", it's a haunted forest that'll make you see things if you're not careful," she finishes.
The Forest of Forgotten Dreams, huh? That sounds like the name of a band but I'll assume it's named like that because of some dream like stuff. Before I could finish my sentence I was grabbed by my wrist.
"Now let's go!" she yelled.
I was dragged by Auriel through the forest and towards her supposed home.
