The daily life of of the duke's heir wasn't a simple one. Attending parties, managing money, attending lessons, and finishing paper work was only a few to name.
Such was the life of Amphitrite van Blissia, the 16-year old heir to the great duke of the empire. Known for both her stunning beauty and amazing intellect, she was respected and feared throughout society. Sliver, milky hair accompanied with red, wine eyes that seemed to pierce your heart, and blood stained lips were the symbols to her name.
Her father, Cassius, was the left-hand man of her empire, Pheavora, and the guide master of the group "Blue Roses." He was praised for his skills and talents, while the ladies swoon over his cold but charming looks. A flow of ivory, white hair slicked back, scarlet sharp eyes, and pale pink lips.
Thought a great warrior, he was never a great father, leaving Amphitrite to take care of the family's name all by herself. In her heart she had always wanted to despise him, though she could never bring herself to, hoping that one day she could make him proud enough to respect her.
Her mother, on the other hand, was never mentioned. She was always a mystery that only her father knew, with all trace of her destroyed and burned away. When little Amphitrite had asked about it, the anger in his eyes gave her enough of a hint to not bring it up anymore. And when she had dared to ask again, he had only given one, final answer,
"One day you'll find out".
..."Monsters are in every corner of the Earth. From tiny slimes in grasslands to giant Kraken lurking in the seas, the possibilities are endless. As their origins are unknown and powerful, we humans have learned many ways to fight back, such as magic weapons made from ores in dungeons and turning mana into spells"
Her teacher had again assigned her loads of books to study from, and not one of them were even remotely interesting. Even at the age of four, she had always been pushed with heavy responsibilities in her back, caging her like shackles on her legs just to uphold the "family's honor".
She had always dreamed of a life without hardships, and when you're in a society of backstabbing rats, it hard not to do so.
She pushed her chair away from her office desk, closing her book as she resting her head on her chair. The afternoon sun rose high in the sky, sunlight shining through the window above her. The desk was filled with paper, documents always falling off the desk no matter how many times she'd picked them up.
"All this work and stress seemed to have gotten to my head," letting out a sigh, she thought to herself, already sensing the wrinkles that were forming on her head.
"You seem to be quite stressed, my lady. I recommend going to the crystal river, since the cherry blossoms are beautiful at this time of the year." said Freya, her loyal maid. A charming beauty she was, with long, brown hair that went down to her waist and eyes that seemed to know everything, along with a seemingly permanent smile that spread across her face.
"Are you thinking of heading out? If so, I shall prepare a carriage for you" Freya continued, seemingly reading Amphitrite's mind. Letting herself rest as she closed her eyes, Amphitrite let out a small smile. "Prepare some food as well. I think I'd like to have a picnic while I'm there."
...
A fresh breeze filled the air as they arrived. Sitting down and feeling the air blow her hair away always felt so cleansing and relaxing. The sight of pink cherry blossom petals falling quietly into the water, flowing down the river seemed so peaceful, like entering a whole different world.
She had rested for awhile, until her eyes had seemingly caught a trunk of a cherry blossom tree. It shined with a brilliant light, yet subtle at the same time. She beckoned towards the light, it glowing brighter and brighter the closer she came. She peeked towards the culprit, and had almost yelled at what she'd seen.
A beautiful, monster child.
