He threw away the cigarette butt and started to look for a restroom, on the way, he smelled a hint of fragrance- it was sweet like fresh fruit on a spring day, it was alluring. His feet unconsciously followed the scent, whereas, his mind became muddleheaded from the smell.
Damian left the area, there was a forest nearby since the town is very rural- surrounded by forest and mountains. He entered the forest where the scent was coming from.
The forest was quiet, dark, and eerie, there wasn't a single noise in the forest except for the rustle of leaves from the wind. It was dark with not a single source of light, he stumbled on a few uprooted roots along the way yet he didn't notice it because of the effect of the scent.
He came upon a large open area where the strongest scent came from, he arrived in the middle of the area- confused and lost. He couldn't understand what was happening to him, the fragrance was addicting- like he was on drugs, he tried to locate the origin of the scent.
He stepped on a patch and immediately a big bear claw appeared and clamped his foot.
"AHHHH!!!!!" He yelled from the pain, he couldn't handle the searing agony, the claw penetrated deeply into his shin. He fell down the patch of grass while clutching the claw trap, it's already reached the bone; grinding his bone. He cried so hard, his body trembled so much from the pain, his clothes already drenched from sweat.
The agony was so intense, his pants starting to get soaked; he unconsciously wet his pants. He didn't notice the sound of footsteps coming towards him.
A group of people was walking towards the person lying on the ground.
"Ohhh we got an unexpected catch this time. I thought we'll go empty-handed again."
They circled the Lycan and move closer to take a look at their catch;
"I told you attracting Lycans with this scent was very effective. Look, in less than 2 hours we already got one!" the other hunter named Jed laughed.
"A scent that took away half of our savings." Another hunter named Brian retorted. "Still, that bear claw is a bit overboard. Look at his leg- already shredded to pieces; Likely he'll lose his leg." He brooded.
"We had no choice, this was the remaining contraption we had. No matter, those Vampires wouldn't mind having one missing limb; as long as they're alive." Simon said
Brian walks closer to observe Damian's legs. " It's already reached to his bone, we should remove it immediately, or else, this trap will chop off his legs." He began reaching the contraption to release it.
"Bah... I thought these kids were tough from what I heard. Seems like those rumors were fake. Even my great-grandfather told us that they were head to head with those almighty Vampires before." The hunter Connor commented.
"That was Long ago. Oi. Have you ever encountered Lycans in your life? Why the fuck would you lie to us that you're an experienced hunter." Jed argued
"So what if it's my first time? My family has been hunting Lycans for years. My father was a famous hunter and has been training me since I was a kid, I know how to hunt." He countered.
"Would you stop with this shit and help me remove the trap? The bone on his leg is already broken." Brian started to get irritated by them.
They started helping him by releasing the trap on Damian's leg.
Damien started to lose consciousness from the pain, he could barely make out the words they were saying. He tried to crawl away from the group, however, his hands quickly bounded by one of the men against the ground.
"Ooh can't let you get away, doggy. you're our hard-earned meal." Connor said.
"We didn't mean to hurt you this bad, we were just a tad bit desperate this time. Don't worry, we'll take extra good care of you." He laughed
They finally removed the claw trap from his leg, but he couldn't feel or move his leg anymore. Felt like it was detached from his body. He screamed hoping someone would hear his cries of help, immediately they bounded his mouth with a cloth.
"Tsk, can't let you make any noise. You'll disturb the people outside." Jed quipped.
"C'mon, Let's tie his arms and legs, we don't have much time left. He's waiting for us." Simon urged them to move.
They took out some kind of a black rope and used it to tie his limbs up. After they're done, they bring out a large cage and place him inside.
"Should we knock him out? It'll be easier for us to deliver him."
"Good point." Instantly Simon bashed Damian's head with a wooden stick.
Damian was instantly knocked unconscious due to the pain coming from his head. His body slumped against the cage walls.
"Okay, we should cover the cage so no one can see inside. Let's go."
They started packing up and carrying the cage; walking deeper in the dense forest.
