Jeers and shouts rang throughout the bar, a bunch of crowds was squeezing against each other to be able to see the spectacle happening before their eyes. People were betting against each other.
At the center of the group, A man was chugging the 5th pint of beer in a matter of a minute, he slammed the glass against the table and screamed after he finished drinking.
"Fuck! Who's the Alpha here?! You pieces of shit! Think I fucking can't beat 5 pints of beer in 5 minutes, you bitch holes." Damian yelled.
The crowds roared, some overjoyed from the bet they won, some kicked the chairs and table hard due to the frustration of losing. Several started collecting the money and some resisted in giving out the money; there's even a few who ran away- refusing to give out any cash.
"Fuck this guy ran away! This Son of a bitch! Fuckin get 'em!" They started chasing the escapees.
"Oi! Where the fuck is my cash? I should be the one who gets the money." Damian yelled at the dealer.
"Holy fuck! Damian, you're on fire today. You helped us earn us a handful of stacks. " He howled. He tosses him two stacks of money. "Here. You earned it, Wolf boy."
"Fuckin stop callin' me that. No one calls me that." He snorted; he stashed his cash in his pocket and left the establishment.
The dealer stood up and shouted. "Hey, wolf boy! If you feel like doing it again, just let me know! I'll bring in more people to bet on you!"
Damian didn't bother replying to him and gave a succinct middle finger.
He went into the alleyway beside the bar and took one stick of cigarettes and lit it up. While smoking, he looked up at the night sky and blankly stood there in a daze. He's getting tired of joining in drinking bets, although he could earn huge chunks out of that, this type of activity wears him down eventually.
He blew out a puff of smoke. Recently, his Kin started going restless, going on and on about the "The hunt". Telling us that their powerful arch enemies are looking for the remaining cans to capture and kill them.
He doesn't believe these so-called "vampires" would look for them. Lycans are somewhat considered a myth amongst the people, and in all his life, nobody from the other species could tell that they were indeed Lycans. For years, Lycans are adept at hiding their true nature. Even if the vampires do lurk around here, he doubts they would even bother looking for some mere Lycans.
So, he doesn't take the hunt seriously. He believes his uncle is just being too delusional.
Ever since his father went missing, his uncle immediately became paranoid. Mentioning how they were discovered and the vampires killed his father. He forced our clan to relocate to a remote town, he became more restrictive with our movements- taking away their freedom.
A lot of the members were dissatisfied with his uncle's decision but they couldn't openly defy him since he's the current Alpha of the group.
Damian snorted when thinking about it. He thought of his father, as far as he remembered, from childhood to adulthood; his father's priority was always the pack. He was the leader and he was always the one protecting the group from dangers, he took care of everything, but in return, he neglected his only child.
He recalled the memories he had with his father, he was there by his side physically but mentally he wasn't. He always prioritizes nurturing other people rather than his only son. No matter what he did, he couldn't get his father's attention. Therefore, he became rebellious; he fought with other groups, stole a bunch of things, drank, smoked, and even took drugs. When his father discovered it, he showed a disappointed face, said a bunch of shit, and then walked away.
He didn't even bother asking why he did it, he just believed everything that other people said. After that incident, they grew further apart. He started hanging with the other groups and partied, while his father stayed at their home taking care of the facility where the Lycans stayed.
Whenever they saw each other, his father would only nod to him then mind his own business. There wasn't a time where the two of them stayed in the same room.
They ignored each other's presence until an incident broke out where one of their brothers went missing. His father came home and went to look for him, it was the first time in a long time he took the initiative to talk to him. Deep inside, he was looking forward to having a great conversation with him.
But the first thing he said to him was to stop hanging out with those bad influences and help guard his younger Kins. After hearing that, he just stood there in a daze- barely listening to his father's words. Halfway, he just ran out of the room leaving his father; he shouted for him but he disregarded it.
He was furious, yet a part of him was disappointed for hoping to be closer to his father. He didn't return to his home for a few days. When he decided to go back, his father apologized- afterward, they didn't talk again.
He started coming home infrequently, most of the time he was he's black-out drunk. In the following weeks, his father suddenly went missing, everybody was stricken in panic, especially his uncle.
When he heard the news, he was just numb- didn't know what he was feeling, although they weren't close- he was still his father at the end. He desperately tried to look for his father, yet his uncle stopped him.
His uncle told him that it's already too late and no hope of finding his father, and that he shouldn't look for his father anymore since this will expose their kids to dangers. Damian was appalled by this, he couldn't understand his uncle; a thought popped in his head, he was convinced that his uncle might set his father up to take his place.
When he realized this, he punched his uncle and condemned him for using despicable means to usurp the position. The other person was speechless for a long time, all of the sudden he punched him back, he was furious for him to assume that he'll kill his brother just to steal his place that he never wanted in the first place.
