Eye of Truth.

Lucifer looked at the door of the library, he flipped his long hair back and adjusted his skirt as he was in his disguise as a girl right now.

A sigh escaped him and he gave a scornful look to the old man who entered the library. He was feeling especially edgy that day.

In the morning, there was this perverted man who asked him out when he was in his disguise. Not that he wasn't hit on before that time. Lucifer took great pride in his looks, though he had toned his features down with a great deal in his girl version. But this time that man seemed as if he would abduct him if he kept refusing his advances.

But something even more humiliating happened to him. As that man tried his force Lucifer and Lucifer was just going to kick his ass off, a boy stepped in to protect Lucifer. That boy was the same age as him and seemed from a well-off house. A noble at least. He protected Lucifer from that perverted man with the help of his knights. In the flash of a moment, Lucifer became a damsel in distress who was protected by a hero.

That kid had shiny silver hair and emerald eyes. He was a really beautiful boy and he carried himself with a mature aura despite his young age. But neither his beautiful face nor his well-cultured manners saved him from becoming a nosy brat in Lucifer's eyes.

Lucifer had noticed that this boy had been frequenting the library for the last two weeks. And he had been giving him weird shy looks. That boy seemed no different in Lucifer's eyes than that perverted man earlier.

The boy however grandly took his leave declaring that it would be his last visit for a while and that Lucifer should wait for him a little while as he would come back for sure after completing his studies abroad.

If it hadn't been for the sake of maintaining his disguise, Lucifer would've sworn at him to never come back and die there somewhere abroad.

After all that ordeal in the morning, the afternoon was spent dealing with the customers for the Secrets Bureau. Julia had ghosted him for a month straight ever since the talk about the Eye of Truth. As Julia was the main attraction of the Bureau as the Future Seeker with her foresight ability, a flood of complaints was flowing in demanding her.

And now, in the evening, his cleaning artifact broke because he accidentally stepped on it and he had to clean all the mess in the library sitting area as well as repair the artifact.

This day, he thought, couldn't get any worse. Or so he thought, at least.

The door of the library had a little ringer hung over it which jingled every time a person entered.

Lucifer was packing up the counter as he was done for the day and wanted to retire earlier. He was on his way to the reading room when he heard the ringer jingle. He turned around to chase away any customers for the day.

To his surprise, he saw the last person he was expecting to show up that day. Entering the door and closing it behind him, Frank stared right into Lucifer's already-staring eyes.

Lloyd was ruffling through the papers on his desk. After attending to all the estate's important pending matters, he was now looking for information on people with two mana cores.

As much as Frank's presence was important for him to remove Hannah's oblivion, he couldn't possibly deny the fact that he had to get rid of that boy soon. And he had plenty of reasons to do that. They were for example Frank and Julia's abnormal affection for each other. It was also viable now that Frank was a dangerous child, and after hearing what had happened in the estate after he was gone, he felt even more insecure about letting Frank stay in his house and so near Julia.

But he knew that if he did anything at that moment, it would only result in Raymond and Julia's complete opposition. He had to slowly get rid of him while taking advantage of him in Hannah's case.

The marriage proposal from the emperor was now the second biggest priority. Though it was true that Lloyd didn't want to force Julia into any decisions, being the future crown prince's fiancé was a very good route for her. That way she would've never had to suffer any kind of hardship ever as the empress. And with the arranged marriage, the emperor also guaranteed Lloyd's freedom from his hidden prince title.

"Just what are these people with two mana cores?" Lloyd mumbled as he went through all the papers while scratching his head.

He thought he heard a gasp somewhere but ignored it thinking it might be his own heart gasping after looking at all the papers he had to go through.

Hannah stared at Julia's face, Julia looked down, embarrassed. Their situation right now was quite nostalgic as Hannah commented.

They were in the side library attached to Lloyd's study and there it was again, the pile of collapsed books and Julia in front of it, clearly guilty of eavesdropping (again).

Hannah had come to look for some materials to prepare for tomorrow's class. But as soon as she opened the door, she startled a little squirrel spying on her brother and made her fall from the famous book tower that was, of course, the squirrel's own handiwork.

"I see that you're quite serious about this, Young lady," Hannah said in a sarcastic voice with the sole purpose of teasing Julia. "Are you perhaps taking an interest in spying as a profession?"

Julia flushed in embarrassment and started apologizing.

Well, Hannah didn't particularly mind Julia eavesdropping on her brother. She didn't have an ounce of care whether his sister spied on him or an assassin. As long as she was safe and getting her wages, his safety and well-being didn't mean much to her.

The real enjoyment was teasing Julia.

Hannah was glad that Frank wasn't there with Julia this time.

'He might actually have killed me this time,' she thought.
