"He was cruel. Truly cruel. His thoughts were filled with fear and as he pierced through her heart with his sword multiple times relentlessly, tears fell from his eyes. He knew he had to be as cruel as possible, but her slowly leaving life sent shudders up his spine. His hands trembled and as she died, so did he," Hannah looked at Frank and Julia raising her eyes from the book.

Julia was, as always, listening intently. Frank, on the other hand, had a very bored expression on his face.

'It's a gothic thriller, for god's sake, even witches find this book intriguing,' Hannah thought as she glanced at the book's title to know if she had the right book. 'How can he look not anything but 'bored'?'

Today they were having a class about classical literature and the first novel they had to go through was 'Black Love', a classic thriller writer by the great writer Ricardo Hansen. It was a book most people read with complete absorption. Hannah decided to ignore Frank and continue as he was not normal, to begin with.

"The people outside his mansion cheered as she took her final breath. Her hand had been up and asking for help from her murderer, but it fell lifelessly down as well. He felt his heart wrench in indescribable pain. Tears could no longer contain his grief.

A witch, as she was, she had to die. But instead of feeling relieved, his heart sunk deeper and deeper into agony. The cheers outside sounded like wailings and the dark clouds were like endless voids. And in that moment of immense internal pain, he realized. He loved her..." Hannah was suddenly interrupted by Frank.

"Why would he kill her if he loved her?" Frank asked.

"Because he didn't know he loved her," Hannah answered.

"That's stupid. The whole story is stupid," Frank said, bluntly. "In the whole book, the two stuck together and even got married. And then he stupidly killed because that was what the people told him to do. That's the stupidest thing ever."

"Then how would you act if you were in his place?" Hannah asked as she placed her hand on Julia's shoulder, indirectly implying Julia was the female lead in the book.

Frank stared at Julia's face and then at Hannah's. Without hesitation and any more delay, he said," Kill the people, of course."

Lia and Hannah gaped at his face as he said that with a plain face.

"Why kill the people? You could just run away together," Hannah said with a twisted smile.

"Humans are crueler than any other being in this world. How many times would you run away? Just finish it once and for all," Frank said without batting an eye. "As much as they are cruel, so are they afraid of death."

An awkward silence filled the room. Hannah regretted asking that.

"Let's go back to the main topic. The book ends with the female lead, Agatha death. In the end, what the main summary analysis of this literary piece is?" Hannah posed this question especially to Lia as she knew Frank would just spew nonsense.

"The lord, Clark, should've killed the people instead of his wife, Agatha," Lia said looking at Frank. "I agree with Frank, Clark was stupid. If he really loved her, he would've never killed Agatha. What's the point of realizing it after her death? Corpses don't talk. Who was he even apologizing to?"

Frank smiled and chuckled. It was the first proper laugh he had after the lake accident. Lia blushed at how pretty he looked while laughing. Hannah was just dumbstruck. She just simply decided to end the class.

"Let's keep it there. You're free to go. Tomorrow, we will discuss advanced magic theory," she said and left the room with the book.

As soon as Hannah left, Frank used force field magic to shut the door and immediately snatch Lia into his lap. Snuggling into her chest, he smiled up at her.

"What are you doing?!?" Lia shouted in her loudest whisper.

"Why? You liked me smiling. I saw you," Frank said he smiled his widest smile at Lia which made her blush beat red. She hide her face in her hand and started turning her away.

Frank looked at her intently with interest. It was a whole new reaction he had seen out of Lia. He felt pangs of heat generating in his stomach and making him feel overwhelmed. It was a confusing emotion. But he knew one thing, he wanted more.

He gently drew her hand-covered face near his mouth and whispered slowly in her ear," Lia."

He felt her tremble and shudders went up his stomach. He kissed Lia's ear and proceed to her neck. Softly touching his lips against her skin. Her trembling and the feeling of her soft skin against his lips were making him lose control. He wanted to bite into her sweet flesh and leave marks of himself everywhere. A mark that would brand her as his.

A sudden cry from Lia jolted him awake. He looked at her face, there were tears rolling down her cheeks and her eyes were filled with water. He panicked. Why was she crying? Did she hate it? Does she hate him now?

A ridiculously tremendous fear filled Frank's heart. What would he do if Lia started hating him? How was he supposed to live without her? Did it mean that she would never talk to him again? What if she never saw him again? Will he never see her light ever again?

With trembling hands, he wiped her tears. Lia looked at Frank when he wiped her tears and in shock, gasped.

"Why are you...," she whispered slowly as she wiped his face with her sleeves.

Without realizing it, Frank had been shedding tears. The mere thought of Lia disappearing away from him made him tear up unconsciously. He held her tightly and hugged her with all his might, he mumbled," I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please, I'm sorry..."

Lia forgot her own tears as she saw the trembling Frank frantically trying to hold onto her. Her inner self was so happy that she was shocked at her own thoughts that told her to treat him more roughly. The thought that Frank, who was indifferent to everything, cried like a helpless child in front of her, was more relieving to her than sad.

"Why are you crying, Frank?" she asked locking his face in her hands.

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again. So you won't leave me, right?" as Frank answered, there was more fear in his eyes than sadness. A blind fear of what may happen if he lost Lia.

Those eyes filled with fear made Lia feel so much pleasure that she didn't want to console him anymore and if possible, torture him further with some harsh words.

She bit her lips and smiled and said," I'm not leaving you, Frank. I'm never leaving you. You're mine and I'm yours."

Frank's breath which had been irregular because of the tears, calmed down and he buried his head in Lia's embrace. soothing him and patting his head, Lia felt as if she had conquered the world.
