Chapter Three: Catching A beauty’s interest

' So that was the most advanced form of meditation? It's actually so beneficial? But I don't even know how I entered that space to begin with. She had almost ethereal looks, golden hair that reached her waist and crystal blue eyes that could melt the soul . Her beauty made even Bai Yang stop a stare while Xiao Yu only spared her a glance before urging Bai Yang to hurry up. But as they were about to depart the leading girl suddenly began walking towards them.

"that's Mai Yuko , her family comes from a long line of knights but she's a genius when compared to her predecessors. At the age of 15 she personally led the charge against a hoard of demons with a lynch as their leader and came out victorious.Did we do something to offend her?" asked Bai Yu with some fear as the girl walking towards them had an extremely imposing atmosphere.

"Dunno , I don't think so. Maybe she wants directions?" Xiao Yu looked completely unfettered by her imposing aura.

Finally the girl stood in front of the two but she was only looking a Xiao Yu confusing the duo as the had no idea what this beauty wanted .

" You there.. your not bothered by my auras leakage nor are you interested in my beauty. What a weird fellow, it seems your unlike the average man , My name is Mai Yuko leader of sensōtiheiwa's knight brigade. Might I receive you name?"

"Xiao Yu, I've come to visit my friend here and we're on our way to go and so thought this may seem a bit rude could we continue this talk another time?" Asked Xiao Yu with a wry smile. "Mmm but be careful, we've received word that there's an rouge Assassin running rampant around these parts so it be best to turn in early until the situation is taken care of, though at your level there's probably nothing to be worried about." " Understood, we have no plans of staying out too late . Thank you for your kind warning, if that's all we'll be on our way. " With that said Xiao Yu tried to leave while feeling a wave of hunger with Bai Yang following behind .

' His auras steady yet strong , he's so young yet he's already reached the knights class . I can't even tell his group, his aura keeps changing as if he's not bound by a single group. Unwavering eyes without a hint of lust and delicate yet masculine looks. Should we meet again inviting him into my brigade would be wise. If not for the mission of tracking the rouge Assassin I would've like to talk to him a bit more." Yet she actually approached you to initiate a conversation and you just brushed her off? One could mistake you for a sage ." Bai Yang said with a look of shock on her face.

" I felt like I'd get roped into something unnecessary if I talked to her any longer and I'm honestly starving. " Xiao Yu was holding his stomach while looking around the town.

The sun would soon set yet the amount of people walking through town was scarce. Even some of the shops were closing and those that were open had a look of concern, such a sight stunned Xiao Yu and as if noticing his thoughts Bai Yang commented.

"This town is usually quite lively and by nightfall some shops would still be open , it looks like this assassin has everyone scared as he kill indiscriminately . Its unnerving knowing you could be killed without warning for no reason whatsoever " instead of fear Bai Yang had a look of anger on her face." Even if I'm unsatisfied with my fathers treatment this is still my town. Yet I'm currently powerless to do anything thing in this situation, my father requested that knight brigade come help with the situation but that itself is embarrassing. It looks as if we cannot manage our own territory. Even some of my families knights were slaughtered mercilessly, and all we can offered their families are some superficial words of thanks and petty reputations it's outrageous!"A murderous glint appeared in Bai Yangs eyes as she spoke of this.

" Calm down Bai , a turbulent mind warrants no results. It's possible to resolve this issue before we leave but for now " Xiao Yu looked at Bai Yang with a serious gaze emitting heavy pressure make Bai Yang curious and his next step" I need to resolve the issue of my stomach " And just like that the serious atmosphere dissipated as if it were a lie.

"Sigh~ I really don't know what to do with you, well the shop is right there. The uncle there cooking is a former mercenary that frequently took on some very dangerous tasks so he's one of the few to keep his shop open and his food is delicious. " Xiao Yu looked towards where Bai Yang pointed and saw a shop with a plain appearance but what attracted his was the smell, the fragrance coming from the shop could be described as heavenly. When he looked back at Bai Yang she was already walking towards the shop looking back at him with an expression saying " are you coming" so he quickly caught up and entered the shop.
