Chapter 1 - Is this a joke?

Desmond is on his computer scrolling through YouTube. He grew dark circles under his eyes for not sleeping much. When suddenly, an light blue semi transparent screen shows up in front of him. He blinks his eyes twice before rubbing them to make sure what he was seeing was right. Even though, the screen was still there. The screen had words on it saying: "Fusing with compatible host..."

"Am I high? I can't be, I must have an fever"

Desmond put his hand on his forehead and concluded he wasn't having an fever. He throws himself onto his bed and lays down. He checks the time and see that it's 7:28 in the morning.

"OH SHIT, IT'S ALREADY MORNING?! I GOT TO GET TO SCHOOL" Desmond said

Desmond swiftly got up and picks up his clothes he laid out. He runs into his bathroom and brushes his teeth while splashing water into his face, he changes clothes and walks into his brother's room who is currently still sleeping.

"Bro! Wake up, it's time for school!" He exclaimed

Nicotine *cough* I mean Nicolas wakes up from his cozy dream and stood up before falling right back on his bed.

"I don't want to get up...." Nicolas groaned

Nicolas gets up and streched and dashes to the bathroom. Desmond walks outside and grabs his bicycle, that's when he notices that the screen is still there. But chooses to ignores it as he really needs to get to school. his school was somewhat far away, it would take him longer to walk then to ride his bicycle.

"Bro your not going to wait for me?!"

"I'm not trying to be late, i'll owe you back later!" Desmond said

Desmond got on his bicycle and rode off, leaving Nicolas behind. Desmond kept riding until he got to school. He ran inside his classroom and sat down before the bell ringed. He lays his head on the table as his teacher walks in the room. Desmond starts falling asleep as he can faintly see it but chooses to ignore it.

"Alright that's it for today guys, have a great weekend!"

'Nani?' Desmond thought

He realizes that he had a notebook full of notes and a pencil in his hand.

'Did I leave my brain on auto pilot?'

Desmond gets up and leaves the classroom. He sees that same message he saw last time, but this time, it's different. It says: "Fusing complete". Then he remembers hearing about systems in novel and guesses that's what it was. He was about to start freaking out but didn't as he was in school. He leaves school and rides his bike home.

Desmond finally gets to his house and walks towards his room. He throws himself onto his bed and starts to think.

'Hm....maybe if I...'

"System?"

[Yes host?]

"....."

Desmond couldn't believe what he just heard. He never believed in things like monsters or ghosts. But now, he's going to check under his bed at night time. His mind can't even comprehend how this happened or why he was chosen.

"Maybe I'm the protagonist and I'm living in a simulation!" Desmond exclaimed

He quickly threw out this idea when he realizes that there's no way it could be a simulation. The only actual explanation for this would be that he actually gotten a system.

Desmond put his hands together before saying: "Thank the god that this system didn't pick a chinese person. Even though, I'm the only one who have a system"

"Ahem so system, what exactly you can do?" he asked

[I am a delivery system, we deliver items to our customers]

"..."

'And I thought I would get a good system. Please I just want to turn into a god'

"How do we deliver items to our customers?" Desmond asked disappointed

[When I merged with you, a website was made for customers to order online. Once a person orders, they have to put in there address so we can deliver it]

"Can I order?"

[Yes but the host will have to pay like everyone else]

"Wow, no advantages for being a staff huh? Do I get any money from this?"

[Yes, host will earn 20% of income and the rest goes to me]

"Why does the rest go to you exactly?"

[You may get orders from different realities or species like aliens. I use money as a source of energy to open a portal and make more items]

"Makes sense to me"

[Ding! A customer has ordered, their delivery is 1 Excalibur]

Upon hearing that, Desmond spit out the water he just drunk. He wipes the saliva and water off his lips and look back at the system screen with an shocked expression.

"THE FUCK?! YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU WERE SELLING GODLY ITEMS" He exclaimed

"Not to mention, doesn't the Excalibur only choose people who are worthy?!"

[This item is not the original Excalibur. This one is not as powerful and can be held by anyone. But compared to your reality, it's very powerful]

"What do you mean compared to my reality?"

[There are different Realities of Earth, like an cultivation reality]

"I see...."

[Host, the customer must not wait any longer. Teleporting you to location now...]

"WAIT HOLD ON-"

Before Desmond could finish his sentence, he got teleported into the middle of the street.

"God damn it. Am I atleast at the address?"

[No, this was the best I could do as we have barely any source of income. I only have a bit more to summon a delivery motorcycle with Excalibur in it]

A motorcycle appears right besides Desmond as he gets on the motorcycle. He then realized that the system is controlling the motorcycle. They drive for a few minutes before stopping in front of a house, Desmond assumes that this was the place and take off the sword-shaped bag of the motorcycle.

[Host when you deliver the item, please do tell the customer to tell their friends about the website]

"I'm not that shameless to do something like that" Desmond replied

[But this will benefit us in the future]

"If you say so" Desmond shrugs

He reaches the front door and knocks on it three times. The person opens the door, Desmond gives the Excalibur to the person. Just as Desmond was about to leave, he turned around and said: "Please recommend our website to your friends and family or who ever you know about".

He leaves and get back on the motorcycle and drives off.

"Why did I say that, that was so cringey"
