CHAPTER 18

After my class, I rushed to my part-time job. Luckily, there are few students now. I went to the comfort room to change my clothes and remove my disguise. And I wore a hood to cover my head, and I tied my hair to wear a cap. I wore a mask as well. I am ready to go out now to start my job.

I arrived late at my workplace. Thanks to Clint for covering me from the boss.

And I started serving the customers with coffee.

"Rie, I'll go ahead first since you're here now."

"OK, Clint. Take care when going home. And thank you for covering earlier for me." Clint said his goodbye and exited from the coffee shop where we work.

Clint was a student at a neighboring school near my university. He was the same age as me. And he was popular with his university since he was good looking as well.

There are six part-timers in the coffee shop and we are all university students in different schools. They assigned me to the counter to take orders from the customers.

It's a busy day and there are many customers in the coffee shop. It surprised me when I saw Zion entering our shop. He was frowning and disappointed.

"Was he still mad until now?" In my mind.

Zion stared at me and hurriedly came to the counter.

"Hey! Do you still remember me? So, your name is Rie." He asked.

I tilted my head because I was confused about what he meant. "Did I meet Zion before?" I asked myself.

"Excuse me, sir, can I get your order? There are still customers in the line."

"I am sorry Rie. Please give me a cold cappuccino in colossal size."

"OK, sir. Please wait on the other side for your drinks."

Zion sat at the table where he was in front of me and he kept on staring at me after he got his drink.

A few hours later, I finished my work, and Zion was still in our shop. When I was about to exit the door, Zion followed me and grabbed my hand.

"Excuse me Rie. Maybe you don't remember me, but I met you in your town before. I met you on the street when I visited my friend who stayed there, too. That time you drop your handkerchief."

"Yes, I remember now!" I didn't expect that I would meet Zion before.

"Anyway, I will go now first. I have a lot of things to do at my home." I told Zion.

"Can I send you to your house?"

"Ooh my God! You can't do that, Zion. You will find out who really is me." I whispered to myself.

"No, you don't have to do that. I can go home alone and thank you."

"OK, anyway, I am Zion. It was a pleasure to meet you!" I nodded to him and I ran as fast as I could.

"Hmmp! He was very nice this time to me because of my appearance. When I met him wearing my disguise, he just bullied me and insulted me. Very hateful!" I mumbled.

I was very irritated when Zion was being nice to me because of my looks.

"Grrrr! I won't talk to you tomorrow, Zion, and I am going to ignore you! You said you don't like beautiful women and you always choose me over them. But now you are very nice to me because of my looks!"

When I arrived at the apartment, I went directly to my room. Cassy called me to eat dinner, but I refused her since I didn't have an appetite and I felt agitated because of Zion.

Meanwhile, Zion was thinking about why I didn't show up at the lake.

"Is she busy again for not having a short time to show herself to me? Or maybe she is still mad at me. Waaah....I am going crazy thinking of Arien." Zion murmured. "But she's really cute when she's shy." Zion was giggling and talking to himself alone because of Arien. He was looking forward to meeting and talking to Arien again tomorrow.

The next morning, Zion waited for me in the parking lot. But I didn't pay attention to him.

"Arien! Arien! Arien Holmes!" He called me but I ignored him. He ran towards me and grabbed my waist.

"What!? Before you avoided me. And now what?? You're trying to ignore me?" I felt embarrassed about how Zion hold me.

"Hey, Zion! Stop grabbing my waist!" I struggled to lose from holding him. Luckily, no student was yet in the parking so far from early in the morning, so nobody saw the scene.

"Ok, then tell me, why are you ignoring me?"

"I didn't ignore you, I just didn't hear you called!"

"Oh, come on! I called you several times. It's impossible you didn't hear me!"

"Hmmmp! Whatever! You better find someone who is beautiful to talk to!"

"Why should I find a beautiful woman? Anyway, I left you a note yesterday on your desk to meet me at the lake, but you never showed up. What were you doing yesterday?"

"I never saw a note at my desk yesterday. And I was busy yesterday. And don't ask questions anymore. I am going to my class now."

"Fine! Just go now! I don't care!"

I turned around to leave Zion and didn't talk back to him anymore.

At the same time, Zion was annoyed.

"Why is she more mad today? I am supposed to be the one who is mad now because she didn't show up yesterday! Ahhhhh! Arien! What am I going to do with you!" Zion ran to Arien to follow her.

I didn't notice that Zion was following me. He overtook me from walking.

"Sorry, whatever the reason, you got mad at me. I am sorry. OK?" Zion sincerely asked for forgiveness. Because of his sincerity, I forgave him.

"Lets eat our lunch together later, OK? I will pick you up. I don't want you to be late again and starve me from hunger."

"OK, just go now. We are going to start our class." Zion waved happily to say goodbye and was excited about lunch break later.

Because of my feelings towards Zion. I didn't realize that they delivered the news being closed to him to Jessica.

Jessica went to my room to find me.

"Arien, Jessica was looking for you." Nicole informed me.

"Why is she looking for me?"

"I don't know. You must be careful because she was frowning and angry." I went to the door to meet Jessica.

"May I ask what kind of confidence do you have in being close to my fiancee?" Jessica asked.

"I am just doing some errands for him, since I accidentally broke his hand." I responded.

"As far as I remember, you need to run an errand for us as well, right?" Jessica reminded me. And I nodded to her.

"Later, at the lunch break, come to the gym to start your work for us, and don't be late. Or else you are going to regret it!"
