After the queen had left for the night, Silas was laying in the infirmary in a half conscious state trying to conserve and replenish his magic. When rescuing the queen he had expended a lot of his magic trying to shield himself from the worst of the lightning bolts. It hurt like hell to move. It wasn't long before his family and his best friend came pouring into his room buzzing with concern. His father bore down on him with fury, "is the queen alright? We came as soon as we heard what happened. Please tell me she's safe?"
"She's ok. The king has taken her back to the castle to rest. I was able to get to her in time. She couldn't swim and didn't realize how deep the tub in the bathhouse was. She had sunk to the bottom when I realized she was drowning, without thinking I rushed head first into the bathhouse and dove into the water and dragged her out. The legends are true. You will get shocked by more than fifty thousand lighting bolts. I used my magic to shield myself from the worst of it but I was still injured. I'm trying to restore my magic now.
His father sighed with relief. Their queen was safe and his son had rescued the queen. They will not have to die in vane today. Their lives were spared. His some had served the queen well and upheld their honor. He beamed with pride at his son patting him on the shoulder. "Thank you my son you have done well today."
Lucas walked up and punched Silas in the gut, "no fair you got to enter into a females bathhouse!!! I think you have made the history books!!! Please tell me you didn't let this chance go to waste, did you happen to get an epic body shot of the queen? Did you see her mate marks disappear? What did she look like without her mate marks?"
Silas kicked his best friend, his face reddening with embarrassment. I didn't see anything. I was too busy trying to save the queen's life from drowning and not to mention getting the shock of a lifetime. I wasn't worried about seeing her naked. Which of course was a downright lie he thought. As soon as he knew she was safe laying outside the bathhouse he couldn't help but take in the scene of her beautiful naked body laying there. Her already small frame looked even smaller without her mate marks. Her skin was paler than the stars in the night sky. Her budding breasts looked soft and tender as they pointed toward the heavens. Her wet curls clung to her face her lips red as the fiery tail of a flaming comet. Soaking wet she still weighed nothing when he carried her out. He will engrave the scene of her laying there naked forever in his memory.
His family stayed a little longer before they finally headed out for training. Unfortunately he couldn't make it due to his injuries. He stayed behind trying to replenish his magic in a hurry so he could get back to guarding the queen. His first rescue mission getting to his head as his pride swelled ten fold. He wanted to become mates with the queen so bad. She was just too adorable to stand by and do nothing. He will make it his life's mission to become mates with her. The hours tickled by slowly when he heard a soft knock at the door. Catching a whiff of the queens euphoric scent, he called for her to enter.

My eyes opened to find Helios staring down at me, I sighed turning into his chest not wanting to leave the cool breeze wafting from his body. I wondered if he was casting a spell to keep it cold. I don't like the heat, I thought glad that his embrace was cool to the touch. I rolled over mumbling, "five more minutes. I was becoming too lazy since coming to Kosea and Helios letting me sleep in. My aunt would never allow me to sleep past seven.
"What would my queen like for breakfast? I can have them prepare it for you while you sleep a little longer," Helios cooed brushing my curls behind my ears and flipping me so that I was laying on top of his chest. I closed my eyes as I mumbled into his chest, "no need to bother Eleanor this morning. I'm not hungry." I drifted back to sleep. Even with my eyes closed it felt like Helios was staring into my soul like he was searching for something.
He put his hand up to her forehead checking to see if she was sick. He listened to my stomach but didn't hear the usual rumbling sounds. His queen was always hungry but today she wasn't. He had trained himself to listen for her stomach whenever she wanted to eat. He learned his lesson after learning humans had to eat three times a day to keep up their energy. She will collapse again if she doesn't eat. Helios waited patiently for his queen to wake up fiddling with her curls.
Two hours later I was still laying on top of Helios when I awoke again. His chest was ice cold and smooth. I hope I wasn't too heavy laying on top of him I thought. I don't know how long i was out for but he didn't move an inch when I was asleep. That's when I caught him gazing at me. My cheeks flushing I turned away from his gaze, that was when I noticed the daisies sitting in a vase on his desk. I jumped up excited that the flowers had arrived. "Can I go to the infirmary? I want to check on Silas to see if he is ok, I asked hesitantly. Helios's face fell when he heard this news. He was hoping she would want to spend the day with him. I hurriedly replied, "I promise I won't be long."
Helios sighed seeing his queen a little more spirited than she was two hours ago. Still worried about her he chastised her, "you must eat first, you missed your breakfast. I can't have my queen collapsing from hunger again."
"I can take it with me. I don't want much to eat. Just a bowl of chicken noodle soup will do as I explained what chicken noodle soup was to him. Helios smiled as he sent her order down to Eleanor happy his queen was going to eat. Waiting for Eleanor to bring the soup I quickly combed my fingers through my hair. Walking over to the daisies I saw a string that was sitting beside the vase that had been used to hold them together on the way here. I grabbed the flowers and the string and I retied the bundle. A moment later Eleanor had brought me a thermos full of soup. Flinging the thermos strap over my shoulder I headed down the staircase toward the front door.
Helios's eyes narrowed curious as to why I was taking the flowers he had delivered with me. As I headed out Helios summoned Lucas. "I want you to guard the queen in Silas's place. She's off to the infirmary to visit him now. Make sure nothing happened to her."
"Ey Sire," Lucas saluted as he turned to follow after me, a pip in his step ready for his first assignment. I turned when I heard someone following me. It was Lucas. "I'm on my way to see Silas. I got him some get well flowers. On Earth we give white flowers to someone when they aren't feeling well." Lucas was curious to see the flowers. They didn't have many flowers in Kosea aside from moon flowers. The queens eyes glazed over as she was telling him about giving his friend some flowers. Her cheeks were highlighted pink.
"I am so glad Silas was able to rescue you. Believe me if I was there I would have done the same thing dashing into a females bath house. Too bad I wasn't there. I would have caught you before you fell into the water. It would have been a pretty funny scene to watch. I probably would have taught you how to swim and then pushed you in myself. I heard how you fell face first into the water. It must have been hilarious to watch." He chuckled teasing me as he patted my head.
Lucas gave off the vibe of an over protective yet annoying older brother. I had always wanted an older brother who would tease and pick on me all in good fun. I smiled teasing back, "not if I push you in first," giggling I quickened my pace toward the infirmary.
She was such a klutz and funny Lucas thought. I really wish I could have seen her face plant into the water. I would have loved to see the look on her face when I pull her back up holding her tight in my arms. I would laugh and tease her if she invited me into her harem. I would do anything to hear the laughter ring forth from her lips. Her giggle is so adorable. Too bad she doesn't laugh very often. If I was around her more I will do my best to try and make her laugh. I want to mate with her!
We arrived at the infirmary to see the head doctor scribbling away in his notes. It took him a minute to notice me as I was almost eye height to the counter. When he did finally notice me startled he bolted up and came around the counter and bowed. "I am so sorry my queen. I didn't see you there. What brings you in today? He asked. Usually the queen is his number one patient but she seemed fine enough, just her cheeks seemed a little pink. "I came to give Silas these get well flowers I said holding them up to the doctor. On Earth we give these to patients when they aren't well to help cheer them up."
The doctors heart melted when he heard the Queen say she had brought a gift for someone who was not of royalty. It was rare for a queen to bestow a gift to anyone because females only receive gifts from males but never give anything back. He was jealous of the King. Why did he have to mate with this little one? She was perfect in every way so kind and generous. Fighting the urge to ask her to be his mate he pointed to the new room Silas was moved to. "You may visit him. His injuries are almost healed." I thanked the doctor and leaving Lucas behind, I knocked on his door hearing him call out, "you may enter."
Silas was sitting up in bed reading a book when I entered. He looked up and smiled when he saw me. I sat my soup down on the bedside table I climbed up to sit on the edge of Silas's bed. "I got you a get well present. It's not much but on Earth we give flowers to those who aren't well," I murmured gently holding up the bouquet of daisies for Silas. Silas was speechless as he took the flowers from me. His expression wavered before he looked up beaming with joy on his face.
"Thank you!" He gushed. I can't believe she came back to check on me. Females in Kosea have no heart for the weak and injured. But his Queen didn't see him as weak. She actually came back as promised, with concern and she even got him a gift. His heart was overflowing with elation. He took the flowers from her and inhaled their beautiful scent. "They are beautiful. We don't have many flowers here aside from moon flowers and cosmos. These must have cost a fortune to get a hold of," he commented.
My brows furrowed when he said that. Looking ashamed I mumbled, "I actually don't have any money. I have never owned money not even back on Earth (like my aunt would ever give me any). I asked Helios if we had these flowers and he got them for me. These flowers came from Earth we call them daisies. Ihloi and a team gathered all of Earth's resources before they found me. They wanted to protect and preserve the resources so they wouldn't go to waste when the Earth got destroyed," I continued, my feet swaying back and forth as I rung my hands together hoping he wouldn't think my flowers were lame.
No money? Did the King not provide her with her weekly salary? All the royal females had a weekly salary so they could buy trinkets and sweets of every kind. Does she not desire trinkets or sweets? Does she never ask the King for anything? She must want all sorts of things but doesn't know how to ask for them. She's seems so timid and shy. No wonder his queens heart is so pure. She never demands for things like the other females. Asking for these flowers must have taken a lot of courage for her. He clutched the flowers tight in his hands, "these flowers are even more precious to me knowing that they came from your home planet. These flowers are a rarity that no one can get their hands on except you my queen. I will cherish this gift from the bottom of my heart.
I sighed with relief, he loved my flowers!!! And so we spent the day chatting away completely forgetting about my lunch I promised to eat as we became more acquainted. I found it to be quite easy to talk to Silas even though he resembled Helios so much. There was something about him that I was drawn too. Maybe it was his personality or how kind he was to me. I wonder if I was still on Earth and Silas was human would I have the courage to speak to him like I am now? No one ever noticed me so I didn't get to talk to many people.
"Did you want to eat your lunch? I noticed you had sat it down earlier when you came in. I hope I didn't interrupt your midday meal," Silas asked concerned that I hadn't touched my food.
"No I'm not hungry. I brought it with me but I don't really have an appetite today, Cough Cough," I choked clearing my throat.
"Are you ok your Highness? You don't sound to well," Silas frowned worried that the Queen was sick.
"No I'm alright. It was just a tickle in my throat." But the longer we talked the more fatigued I became. My cheeks were a bright pink now. My eyes drooping, I slumped over at the foot of the bed wanting to rest my eyes for a minute. Next thing I knew I was out cold.

Helios was working in his study with Ihloi when he glanced up trying to sense his queen. Something wasn't right. His queens heart rate slowed as if she had fallen asleep. Her body temperature seemed a little higher than normal too. He hasn't received a report from Lucas yet and he knew she was visiting Silas now and he hasn't reported anything either. Dashing his thoughts he continued to work, thinking his Queen had gotten tired from missing her breakfast and Lucas would carry her back to the castle, her body temperature must be a little high due to her embarrassment.
She always seemed to get embarrassed easily. So without a second thought he continued to focus on his work. It wasn't until an hour later, his queens internal temperature had risen to a dangerous level that Helios dropped his quill heading out to search for his queen. Something wasn't right. He had to find out what was wrong. Following her scent he was able to track her back to the infirmary.
Charging through the doors he demanded, "where is my queen, something is not right. The head doctor jumped out of his skin when he saw the High King in a state of panic. "The Queen is in Silas's room. They have been in there talking for awhile now. She was fine when she came in." "Take me to her now!" Helios shouted.
——————————————————————————
Silas watched as the queen grew tired and began to slouch in his bed. She was talking one minute and the next she had fallen asleep at the foot of his bed. He stopped talking so that he wouldn't wake her up. He knew he would never get a chance to see her sleeping again. She was absolutely adorable when she was asleep. Her lashes caressed her cheeks which were glowing pink. Her breathing slowed until it was barely audible. Her hand clutched his blanket not letting go. Moving slowly so that he wouldn't startle her he got up and moved her into his spot in the bed so she was more comfortable. He covered her with the blanket and continued to gaze at her with lust in his eyes.
He wanted her so bad. He wanted to mate with her and become one with her so he could hear her dreams. He wanted to hold her in his arms when she slept. He stroked her face feeing just how soft and warm her cheeks were. Was she always this warm? Our skin was always cold. Humans are warm blooded but he didn't think they would feel so hot. She coughed a couple times in her sleep a soft moan escaping her lips. She turned over mumbling something incoherent becoming still once more. He watched her for an hour before he heard a commotion in the hall. The next minute the King had burst through the door to his room,
"Where is my Queen?!!!" He bellowed at Silas. Silas put his finger to his lips, "shhh" he pointed to the queen who had taken his spot in the bed nestled in the covers asleep. "She fell asleep about an hour ago. She seemed tired. I didn't want to disturb her," Silas whispered. "I gave her my bed so she could rest. Helios sighed in relief, his Queen was probably hot due to the covers. She was used to sleeping in his cool embrace so maybe she grew warm under the covers. Helios approached the queen feeling her forehead. Yep she was definitely warmer than usual.
That was when he noticed the flowers on the table next to the bed. His Queen had given Silas the flowers he brought her. His Queen didn't ask for the flowers for her. She wanted them for Silas!!! Fighting back the urge to hit Silas as jealousy rose i in his chest he caught sight of her thermos. He walked over and gave it a shake. Nope she didn't eat her lunch. No wonder she fell asleep. She lost her energy. Checking to see if her food was still warm he sat on the bed beside his Queen, leaning over her he spoke gently, "Chelsey it's time to wake up. You must eat.
"I'm not hungry I moaned still half asleep. All of a sudden a huge cough racked through my chest. I doubled over in the bed wheezing and huffing trying to stifle another cough. "I don't feel so good," I cried tears streaming down my face. Helping me to sit up the doctor grabbed his stethoscope and proceeded to listen to my lungs. While listening to my lungs I explained, when I was in the bathhouse I tried to use the shower to rinse the soap off me but it was broken. So when I went to the tub and fell in I inhaled soapy water."
Just has he thought the Queen had water and a large amount of mucus in her lungs. She must have inhaled too much water when she almost drowned. The soap in the water didn't help any and must have infected her lungs. The Queen has come down with Pneumonia. That would explain the fatigue and the loss of appetite she's been experiencing. The queen doubled over coughing, wheezing, shaking violently. When her coughing fit subsided she fell limp in the doctors arms. Scooping her up he carried her to her private suite and placed her in a much more comfortable bed. It looks like his number one patient was back.
