His queen's hand went limp as she blacked out from the blood draw. Her bite had no affect on him. It felt like a little love nibble to him. His poor queen had been through so much in such a short time span. Her cheeks turned cold and pale from losing so much blood. Her fragile body can only handle so much. She's not as strong as the other females. But her resilience was tough as nails as she kept fighting to be with him at every moment. This is what he loved most about her. No matter what happens she kept fighting her way back to him. He felt guilty that he could be the cause of her weakness. He brushed her cheek with his hand as he traced the outline of her lips with his thumb. She was so beautiful when she was asleep.
"How are you feeling Silas," Asa asked as he finished drawing three pints of her blood and wrapped her arm in bandages. "Has your magic energy been completely restored?
"Yes, I feel fine. I was more concerned for the queen when she passed out on my bed. My energy was fully restored about an hour before that," Silas admitted to everyone.
Helios's nostrils flared when he heard this. Silas you little wretch, he dared to stay longer just so he could spend time with his queen when she wasn't feeling well. He will get extra training when he returns to the castle.
"I have the blood I need to do the tests but it's going to take some time maybe a week tops before I get results. The smell of her blood wafted through the room making everyone's mouth water. Her blood smelled just like peaches and cream to them. Shaking his head to clear the smell he continued, "you need to work on mating with your Queen," Asa shot at the King with pain in his voice for having to say that. "How many times have you mated with her?"
"One...and a half," Helios replied hesitantly. Everyone in the room turned and scowled at the King. One was an accomplishment in and out of itself but one and a half in such a short time frame was unheard of!!! No female in Kosea would even think about mating after they mated once let alone half way in less than a week!!! All the males in the room became instantly jealous of their King. Every head turned eyes filled with desire as they all glanced toward the sleeping queen. Why won't she pick anyone for her harem they all thought in unison.
A few hours later the queen's rosey color returned to her cheeks. She reached out still half asleep to scratch at the bandage on her arm moaning. Helios gripped her hand smiling, "no you don't, you have to wear it until the bleeding stops. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes blinked a couple of times before remembering where she was at, she shot into Helios's arms clinging to him for dear life, wincing from moving her arm so suddenly. "My dreams were dark and scary. You weren't there in them. I felt so alone," I cried remembering my nightmares about Earth.
Ever since I came to Kosea my dreams were always lit up with shooting stars, comets, planets, moons, brilliant lights and Helios was always there. This was my first dream in Kosea where it was dark and lonely. It scared me to be alone. Especially in a new city, a new galaxy and into the unknown world. Helios was the only one I saw back on Earth that I can draw some sort of connection to my home. He was my familiarity, my cornerstone. Helios's heart dropped when he heard my thoughts. He had completely forgotten to lighten up her dreams. He was so worried about her health that he overlooked her feelings about being alone.
I stared up into his eyes with a serious expression on my face, "I love you." His eyes flashed with deep love for this was the second time his queen had uttered those words to him. He bent down touching his forehead to mine and whispered, "I am so sorry Chelsey, I will make sure your dreams are forever bright and beautiful. You will never have to worry about being alone again. I will always be here with you protecting you from the dark. For I am your sun as my name suggests," Helios chuckled his nose rubbing against mine. I giggled when his nose tickled mine. Helios entwined his fingers in my hair gently pulling my chin up.
I shivered when I felt his cool breath mix with my warm breath our lips connecting in a passionate kiss. All of my fears melted away when I was enveloped in his arms, my fingers interlaced in his hands. He was my protector, and the love of my life. Still kissing Helios my stomach let out a loud growl, I laughed guiltily against his lips kicking myself thinking my stomach had interrupted a perfect moment as everyone in the room burst out laughing. Ah the sweet sound of my queens stomach finally gaining an appetite. She is always the glutton. "What will you be having today my queen?" I thought about it for a minute before deciding, "I think I would like to have fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and green beans." I felt like having a country meal today.
Helios summoned Eleanor to fire up the kitchen as he took my order and wrote down my instructions on what to find. After the blue flames disappeared for the order I tugged on Helios's robes. "Can you call for Sophie? I need to see her. It's urgent." Puzzled Helios summoned Sophie next. His queen wasn't revealing in her thoughts as to why it was urgent. A few minutes later Sophie flew into the room followed closely by Ihloi. She was thrilled the queen had finally summoned her for a task.
Ihloi motioned to the King to follow him and they stepped away to talk to Asa. When Helios was preoccupied I tossed the blankets aside and jumped down onto the cold floor. Looking around to make sure no one was watching I grabbed Sophie's hand and ran out the door. When we were in the hallway away from my room, I stopped and turned to Sophie, "What is your limits to guarding the queen," I asked. "Is there things you can't do like guarding me from the king? Sophie who was confused replied, "I don't think there is any limits so long as you order it. Even a king can't defy a queens orders. But why might I ask would you want me to guard you from the King?"
"I have to relieve myself I said. Normally when I'm at the castle and Helios is busy with work, I pretend to go sight seeing around the castle and I happened to find a couple of bathrooms in the castle. But I'm going to be stuck here for a couple days. I need to find a bathroom without Helios following me." I said embarrassed as I looked down at the floor fidgeting with my hands. Sophie nodded her head in understanding. The queen had female business to take care of. "Please guard me at all costs. Don't let Helios in under any circumstances," I pleaded. "As you wish my queen," Sophie grinned wickedly rubbing her hands together. This was her chance to get back at the big bad scary King for almost killing her a few days ago. She was going to throughly enjoy this.
"Follow me," she said taking my hand. The queen's hand was so tiny in hers. Even as a female of Kosea she could feel that her queen was a million times more fragile than she was. One wrong move and she could crush the queens hand. She would be so adorable if she was my baby sister. I would dress her up all day and take her shopping. She's just so cute, especially when asking to go to the bathroom. I just want to pinch her cheeks she gushed in her mind. It's hard to believe this little one has already mated before me! It's just so not fair!!! Sophie thought feeing jealous and affectionate at the same time.
Just as we were heading toward the bathroom we were joined by Silas and Lucas. "Just where do you think your going my queen," Lucas hollered. "Your supposed to be recuperating in your suite. And why are you with her Sophie? The queen isn't feeling well. She needs to be resting," he said as he crossed his arms chastising the two. Silas wasn't to thrilled either. He didn't want to see his queen get even more sick or worse hurt. He could still smell the blood coming from her arm, the wound from the needle hadn't closed yet. To much movement could cause her arm to bleed out.
"If you two dunder heads must know we have some female business to take care of. She has instructed me to guard her from the King at all costs. I could actually use your guys's help. But we need to hurry she doesn't have much time." The guys stared at me as I paced about looking uncomfortable. "Please I need to go, don't let him follow me. I need you to buy me a few minutes," I said fidgeting even more. "If we are stopping the King then count me in," Lucas beat his chest excitedly ready for a challenge. "Me too! I will make sure you buy you the time you need. Say the word and we will make it happen," Silas stamped his foot in accordance.
Helios and Ihloi were chatting about her blood samples as the first results had rolled in stating that yes indeed it was confirmed the queen was exhibiting extreme magical energy in her body. One of the results showed that even though she had magic it was not stable and she had no way of controlling how to use it or when it would manifest itself. Her magic will come and go when you least expect it needless to say. Now the big question was how to expel it? They wouldn't get results until after he mated with the queen again. But when will she let him? He has to wait until she agrees to it. He isn't allowed to rush her either.
Helios brushed his fingers through his hair in frustration. He wanted desperately to help his queen so that she was safe. He glanced over in the direction of her bed to make sure she was ok, when he noticed her bed was empty. Looking around he saw that not only was his queen gone but so were Silas, Lucas, and Sophie. His queen had gone missing!!! Stopping the conversation short he followed his queens scent out the door and into the hall when he spotted the group heading in the opposite direction.
The group had almost made it to the bathroom when they saw the King approaching. I stood in the doorway to the bathroom hesitating when I saw Helios. I really had to go! My bladder was about to explode! "Quick! Hurry your highness! We will hold him off!!! Silas and Sophie blocked the Kings path with their Rods of lightning they had been issued during training. I glanced at Helios before making up my mind, I turned and ran into the bathroom. Sophie cast a spell that sealed the bathroom so no one could hear, see, smell, or even read her mind. It was like the queen had completely vanished. This spell was one that only females could cast that would protect them when they didn't want males around. Sophie grinned slyly at her handiwork.
"Let me through Helios bellowed in anger. "Where is my queen going? What is with all this mutiny? I demand to know why you are stopping me from my queen and why she ran from me!!!" Helios snarled his fangs protruding from his mouth. He wasn't one for transforming into his natural form but never in his life has anyone stopped him from doing what he wanted especially when it was to protect his queen!!! His heart ached when she ran from him. A moment ago she said she loved him and now she was running from him!!!
"Sorry Sire but we are guarding the queen on her orders. No one is to enter under any circumstances. We are to stop anyone from coming through including you." Silas grinned evilly with a menacing laugh. He was enjoying seeing the pain and anger on the Kings face. This is what you get for taking her away from me Silas thought to himself gleefully.
Once in the bathroom I was able to relieve myself. Ah I feel so much better I thought. I felt guilty for not telling Helios about my little rendezvous and running away from him but it was so embarrassing having to admit I needed to use the bathroom. I needed a little privacy sometime. After I was finished I walked up to the sink to wash my hands. I read the name of the soap that was there and it was the same soap Helios had picked out for me to use at the bathhouse! I wonder if he ordered them to change all the soap to this scent anywhere that I might use it.
I splashed my face with water to freshen up a little. Upon looking at my reflection in the mirror, I noticed that my hair looked horrendous. I had a bad case of bed head. I decided that I was going wash up while I had a moment to myself. I grabbed one of the cups sitting on the counter and poured some soap and water into it and dumped it on my head. I repeated this process a couple more times until my hair ran clean. I brushed my fingers through my hair and decided I would braid my hair in two cute little pigtail braids. There were a bunch of ribbons and strings on the counter probably there for my use as well. I'm going to have to thank Sophie. It was probably her idea.
I grabbed a matching pair of hair ties that had gold stars on them and tied my hair up. The stars matched the gold color in my eyes. They were absolutely beautiful. Next I proceeded to wash the rest of my body. The same way I did with my hair. Not a bad job if I do say so myself. All of a sudden I could hear Sophie's voice in my head, "is everything all right in there? You don't have long before the King decides to break through. Just please don't get hurt in there otherwise the King will kill us! Wondering if she would be able to here me I thought back to her, I'm coming. I decided to wash up a little. Sophie sighed in relief, she wasn't going to be kibble for the King after all.
Helios paced back and forth snarling the whole time clenching his fangs together trying not to bite her protectors. His queen was hidden inside the room in front of him guarded by her protectors. He was getting worried. She has been gone for thirty minutes now. He couldn't hear her thoughts. He had no idea what she was doing or even if she was hurt! Why won't they let him in??? Of his queen ordered them not to let him in he had no choice but to wait outside. He couldn't defy orders from her. But it was so frustrating not being able to hear her thoughts. He needed to know if she was safe!
A couple minutes later his queen came around the corner peeking out the door afraid to come back out. Helios withdrew his fangs just in time so he wouldn't frighten her with his natural form. He never wanted her to see his other form unless she was in danger and needed him to transform. He was afraid that his other form would scare her away.
I peeked around the door afraid that Helios would be angry at me from running. Will he yell at me? Will I be punished? I'm sorry Helios I needed some privacy. Please forgive me I thought. I never meant to make you upset. I sauntered up to Helios my eyes closed shut waiting for a strike. But it never came. Instead I was swept off my feet and into his arms as he near strangle held me tight in his arms. I peeked through my eyelids expecting to see him angry. But instead all his face showed was relief and joy that I was safe. "I'm so sorry. I needed a few minutes to myself. I didn't know how to ask you so I asked Sophie for her help. The others weren't supposed to be here but they happened to follow us. I was hoping to make it back before you noticed I was gone. But you were so fast at finding me."
I told Helios all this as I nervously plucked and played with the strings on his robes, avoiding his eye contact. "Please don't be mad. I promise to let you know when I need a minute. I I was to scared to ask." I stuttered still not looking into his eyes. Helios lifted my chin his lips crushing against mine. I was taken aback. I thought he was going to yell at me but instead he was kissing me! Pulling back Helios replied, "do not be afraid to ask me for something. I live to be able to fulfill all of your requests. If you need something do not hesitate to ask me, Ihloi or your protectors. We are all here to protect you and to make your wishes come true. We are your family now. You are my mate. Your wish is my command. No one here will ever lay a hand on you or mistreat you in any way unless they wish to die."
When Helios said that everyone here was my family, my heart felt a sharp pain like a needle prick. I have never known what having a family was like. I had no parents, no siblings, no friends, I was all alone unloved and forgotten when I was on Earth. The word family kept ringing through my mind as I began to cry sobbing into Helios's robes. For a brief moment everyone who was connected to me as a friend, protector, and mate was able to feel, the feelings that were rushing through my heart as their hearts felt the same stabbing pain that I felt. I had yet again used the magic within me to Astro-Project my feelings onto everyone as the word family rang through my heart again. I finally had a family of my own.
Their queens true feelings had finally shown through to everyone. No wonder she was scared timid and always quiet. She never asked for anything and was always kind. Everyone on Earth was downright mean and evil to their queen and still she showed everyone here mercy, compassion, and love. She never received anything on Earth but had everything to give here. There was not one stain of the evil she was dealt on her heart. Who would ever want to harm their queen? She was so pure innocent and beautiful inside and out. It made every male who knew her want to protect her that much more. Their queen deserved every one of her wishes and more. Anyone willing to harm her will surly die a most painful death.
