Helios turned and carried me away from the bathhouse. I was able to catch a glimpse of Silas running off over his shoulder. A low deep sigh slipped out as I thought about my time in the bathhouse and having a new lover. When I was on Earth I wasn't used to males chasing after me. I was the loner, quiet, shy, girl at school. No one knew who I was. Now I'm a queen of a whole new world and every male in site wants to mate with me. I hated all the attention. I just want to spend the rest of my life with Helios. Was it possible to cancel the lovers mark with Silas? I wish I had a mom to talk with. It was times like this that I desperately craved a mother's advice.
I remained quiet lost deep in my thoughts about lovers, moms, and relationship issues. I almost completely forgot Helios was still carrying me all bundled up in my towel, when he leaned down and whispered in my ear, "what is on your mind my little one. You have been so quiet this whole time." Are you hungry? You haven't eaten yet. Should I call for Eleanor?" At the mention of Eleanor's name my head snapped up. Maybe I can talk to her and ask her for her advice. She's mates with Arthur. Maybe she would know what I should do. "Actually can I spend some time with Eleanor? I need some female time with her. Helios's eyes saddened when he heard this. Was his queen really that unhappy about his decision?
Squeezing me tight he whispered, "as you wish my queen." His message spell was cast and off the message went calling for Eleanor. I was getting a little uncomfortable in his arms. His solemn expression, was boring into me like he was searching my soul for something, but it was probably my fault because I was still a little upset with him about Silas. I wasn't quite ready to forgive him just yet. A few moments later Eleanor with her cheery smile came bouncing down the hill a basket swinging from her arm. Helios sat me on the ground and with a pained look on his face flew back to the castle.
Eleanor looked from Helios's retreating figure and then back to me baffled, "did you two get in a fight? The King doesn't look to happy. "Something like that I muttered kicking a small pebble with my bare foot. "I heard you wanted to spend some time with me today. I packed us a lunch. The King gave me a list of some of the foods you like so I made us some grilled cheese and soup. I hope you don't mind?" I smiled up at her thankful for the lunch she packed. "Not at all its perfect for today." We walked over to one of the trees in the castle court yard, Eleanor laid out a blanket and spread the food out. I couldn't help but notice guards appearing out of the corner of my eye in the distance. Helios must have sent them to watch over me.
I sat down wrapping the towel around me tightly. Eleanor handed me a sandwich and sat down beside me. I plucked at the bread trying to figure out what to say to her. It was so nerve racking. I have never had a mom like figure to talk to before. It was so awkward. "Looks like you must have had a good bath today. It would be nice to see what your bathhouse looks like," Eleanor gushed always wanting to see what a High Queen's bath house would look like. "I can show you sometime. It was so beautiful. Silas used his magic to make it work for me." I finally took a big bite of my sandwich.
Eleanor gawked at me her jaw hanging open. "Silas helped you! You accepted him as your lover! Eleanor clapped her hands joyously. The High Queen had finally accepted her son! She was officially part of the family now! I choked on my sandwich forgetting that she didn't know what had happened yet. So Silas hasn't told her yet. I wonder where else he could have ran off to then. "Are you alright here drink some water," she handed me a tall glass of water. I chugged half the glass before I was able to breath again. "Something like that," I coughed out pounding my chest. I didn't really have a choice. Helios was the one who chose him." I looked down at the blanket in shame.
"I wanted to talk to you about what happened today. I wanted your advice. I'm still so new to all of this. I didn't know who else to talk to. I never had a mom when I was on Earth. No one I could share my feelings with or go to when I needed help. I don't know what I should do. I placed my head on my knees wrapping my arms around my legs, I completely forgot about the rest of my sandwich. The poor dear, she must have been all alone on her planet. Every female needs a mom. She place her arm around the queen pulling her into her embrace for a gentle hug. "You can talk to me any time you like. I will be here to listen. Every female needs a mom."
I smiled up at her relieved to hear that. "Is there a way to cancel the lovers mark with Silas? I'm not ready to have a lover. I love Helios. Silas is my best friend. I can't betray Helios like that, and I can't let Silas suffer every time he sees me and Helios together. I don't want to ruin our friendship because of this. Today was all too sudden for me. Helios wanted me to accept Silas so I wouldn't be afraid of bathing. I don't mind Silas helping me in the bathhouse but things got a little too personal when he was helping me," my face heated up when I mentioned this, I couldn't look Eleanor in the eyes.
With a dark look on her face she replied, "there is a way to cancel the lovers mark. But there is something you should know before you do. When a male pledges their allegiance to a female, they pledge their entire life to them. Unlike females we can have multiple lovers and mates, But males can only mate with one female for the rest of their lives. If a female agrees to the lovers mark or mates with a male but then decides to toss him away, he will become an outcast to the city of Kosea.
That male will never be allowed to mate with another female again. No female will ever want to be with him and all males in the city will chase him away. There are many males here with no females. So an outcast male will never be welcomed back because there are too many males waiting for their chance to mate with a female. Imagine how Silas would feel if you tossed him away? He would never be allowed to be your friend because every male in the city will chance him away. He will never be allowed to return home."
I stared in horror when she told me this. A male can only have one mate?!! What kind of a place is this? A reverse harem where females can have as many males as they wanted while males are treated like play toys and when you are done playing with them they are considered broken and useless? It sounded awful. I never thought that I would be hurting Silas's entire life by canceling our lovers mark. I rocked in place biting my lip, I felt guilty about asking her how to cancel my lovers. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked about canceling my lovers mark. I didn't know what would happened. I didn't even know if it could be canceled." I apologized to Eleanor.
"It's quite alright dearie, you are still young. Mistakes happen. Let me ask you something, did you enjoy spending time with Silas when you were in the bathhouse? I thought about it and realized I was blushing when I thought about how he was holding me in his arms, almost ready to mate with me. He had so much love for me in his eyes. I couldn't deny that fact. "Maybe," I whispered still a little unsure of myself.
"I'm sure the king had your best interest at heart. And you can't tell me you didn't enjoy yourself with Silas. I can tell when a young female is smitten with a male. I can smell the love you have for him just pouring off of you. Eleanor chuckled as she leaned in and tickled my side. I giggled as I tried to dodge her tickle attack. "Give it some time dearie. I'm sure you'll learn to love Silas. Males here never get a chance to mate with females. But when they do. You can't cast them aside. For if you do they can never mate again. Or love again. It's a males greatest shame to be cast aside.
Shaking my head in agreement I couldn't disagree with her. I was after all a Queen of Kosea. What would the citizens say if they found out their Queen tossed out a male? Would I ostracize myself if I cancel my lovers mark with Silas? Better yet what would Helios think if I canceled it? He was the one who recommended Silas after all, maybe he chose him thinking he would be able to protect me better than other males or worse what if he knew I had feelings for him?! They weren't strong feelings but I did like Silas a little. I would be lying to myself if I said I didn't.
Eleanor shook me out of my reverie urging me to eat. I quickly wolfed down my sandwich and my soup, patting my tummy to show her I was full. Satisfied she packed up the basket, standing up she offered her hand to help me up, "you should come back to our new place to celebrate, you haven't had a chance to see our new dwelling since we moved from level three, And I just know Sophie would die if you didn't tell her you made Silas your lover after all you are now a part of our family, you now have an older sister to gossip with," she giggled. A huge smile spread across my face, taking her hand I followed her back to her new home excited to be a part of her family.
I was ecstatic to see their new place. We strolled down the giant hill in front of the castle and about a couple blocks into the big city. I get like I had entered into the land of Tokyo with millions of lights blaring down on me. Sounds of all sorts buzzed around me as pedestrians crossed the streets in a hurry to get to and from work. I clutched my towel right around me nervous. I have never been to a big city before, not end on Earth. It was everyone's dream to visit the Big Apple (New York City) or Tokyo the two biggest metropolis cities. But I was a small town girl at heart. The city was a scary place.
I grabbed a hold of the back of Eleanor's skirt following close behind her. She laughed aloud, seeing the queen afraid of the city. First time in the city huh," she tsked. "I've never been to a city before. I grew up in a small town on a huge lake. I'm not used to all the hustle and bustle of the city life," I shouted above the noise. I slapped my hand to my mouth forgetting they had super hearing and could hear me even if I were to whisper in all this noise. Eleanor laughed again patting my shoulder. "It's quite alright there is nothing to be afraid of. Look over there, Lucas just got off duty. He will protect you," she said with a wink.
I poked my head around Eleanor and sure enough I could see Lucas heading this way. He came up to me with a huge grin, "I'm assuming this is your first time in the big city my queen, Lucas bowed and grabbed my hand kissing the top showing off his sweet adorable brotherly charm. I nodded, wrapping my fingers around his in a death grip. "She came to visit our new place, and she has great news to tell everyone! Lucas pulled me toward a tall black sky rise with millions of windows. Upon closer inspection the black building had tiny little dots that glowed purple and green specks all over the building. It was beautiful.
"The King gave us the penthouse since we became your protectors and friends. The High King always offered the best. You will get to see the best view of the whole city when we get to the top. I couldn't stop ogling the place. To bad we didn't have places like this on Earth. Pulling me along we entered the building, once inside I saw another beam of light just like back at the festival. I trembled when I saw it. I didn't like those elevators of light they had here. They were deathly terrifying. "It's ok I got you, I promise I won't let go. Gulping I nodded that I was ready. We stepped into the light and up we soared.
One hand was still clutching onto Lucas while the other was gripping my towel around me. But as soon as we shot through the air the towel slipped. I tried reaching for it but it fell just out of reach. Lucas saw that my mate marks hadn't returned yet. He unclasped his cape and threw it around me pulling me into his arms. "You know you could have just told me you wanted to mate with me instead of flashing me," He laughed teasing me. I punched him in the chest, blushing I leaned into his chest feeling a little dizzy from the elevator ride. A moment later we had finally reached the top.
I peeked through my eyelids and saw Sophie and Arthur chatting in what I assumed was the sitting area. "Hey guys you won't believe who stopped by for a visit," Lucas hollered as he held me up like Simba from the Lion King my feet dangling in the air swaddled in his cloak. Sophie and Arthur looked up in surprise to see the High Queen in Lucas's hands. "Put me down," I said giggling as I kicked my feet trying to reach the floor. Sophie ran over shrieking with excitement. Arthur laughed as he grabbed me from Lucas's grip and set me on my feet.
"Did someone lose a towel on the way up Eleanor appeared directly behind me holding up my towel roaring with laughter. "I did my face got all heated again as I took the towel from her. I just had a bath, my mate marks hasn't returned yet. "I'm not giving this back either," I smiled at Lucas. "Oh yes you will, I need that for work," Lucas said slyly chasing after me pretending to grab his cloak back. He scooped me into his arms wrestling with his cloak both of us killing over with laughter. "So my queen what brings you here on this surprise visit," Arthur asked interrupting our play wrestling.
Lucas set me down, my smile disappearing. "Umm," I hummed trying to think of how to say it, "I, I accepted Silas as my lover today," I blurted out in one rushed sentence. All heads in the room turned to stare at me shocked. Eleanor beamed with delight, "from this day forward, the High Queen of Kosea is now a part of our family! Sophie shrieked running over to me kissing and hugging me all over, "I have a little sister!" she said picking me up in a huge bear hug. Arthur thumped me on the back whooping in excitement. His son was one lucky male! Lucas on the other hand looked downcast. She has accepted his best friend already, leaving me behind. He was the least excited to hear this kind of news.
Well you kinds go and play, I'll make us a feast to celebrate," Eleanor waved shooing us off. Sophie grabbed my hand pulling me toward another part of the penthouse. "There are three bedrooms. Mom and dad share one Lucas and Silas share one, and I get my own. But since we are sisters now I'll see about getting another bed in my room incase you want to spend the night sometime," she snickered pulling me into her room. "Sorry for the mess, you showed up unannounced so I didn't have time to clean up. There were costumes and jewelry scattered everywhere.
Sophie closed her door, and with a wave of her hand every object in the room flew to it's original spot, her room cleaned in an instant. This was every kids dream come to true to be able to clean their room with a wave of their hand. I was so jealous. Sophie began to undress pulling off her work robes and donned on a simple white tunic dress. She fluffed up her hair before turning around, there all cozy she held up the ok sign with a wink. Curious I asked, "how come you and your mom wear clothes? Don't all females only wear their mate marks?"
"I don't have a mate yet, so I have to wear a tunic or my work robes until I get my mate marks. Mom wears clothes because she says she's too old to show off her body. Dad doesn't mind though, he likes buying her gifts and seeing the smile in her eyes when he brings clothes home for her. I can't wait until I get my mate marks. I just hope they are as beautiful as yours!" I felt a tingle in my body as my mate marks reappeared on my body. Sophie came over and grabbed the cloak and pulled it off me.
You should be proud to show off your body. You have a very adorable figure. I can see why the King chose you. You are slender and tiny, and your breasts are the perfect size," she said grabbing my breasts. Unfortunately my breasts are a lot bigger than yours, so it's a lot of weight to carry around." I wrapped my arms around my breasts embarrassed. Your mate marks are the talk among the other females. They are all jealous that you have beautiful colors and images. It shows just who you are on the inside and out. Never hide your mate marks. Your marks will be the most beautiful clothes you will ever wear. Especially in front of my brother and Lucas. I know it drives them crazy," she giggled as she opened her bedroom door.
Lucas was standing in the hall waiting for the two female to come out. Sophie tossed him his cloak with a smirk, as I walked out behind her. Lucas saw that my mate marks had returned. They were so beautiful mesmerized by her marks. It made every male jealous knowing just how much love she had for a male just by looking at her marks. Lucas directed us to his and Silas's room. All it had was two full size beds and a couple of dressers. Looks like males didn't really decorate here. Maybe I should get them something to spice it up a bit.
After chitchatting for a bit Eleanor hollered form the kitchen announcing that the food was ready. Everyone's stomachs rumbled in unison, causing everyone to burst with laughter. We all marched to the kitchen to see a literal feast spread on the table. There were food dishes from Kosea along with human dishes from Earth. Something tells me she's using magic to speed up the time of cooking to be able to make some of these dishes. There were pot roasts, potatoes, and jellied meat dishes, there was the juice that I liked from the infirmary and many desserts.
Everyone dug in with much gusto chatting about upcoming events and chores that needed to be done. It was like a real family setting sitting down for a holiday. A couple tears of happiness seeped out, as I took a big gulp of my juice hiding my tears. This was a moment I have always wanted to experience at least once in my life. As we were finishing up our meal, Silas had finally come home appearing in the kitchen he was taken aback seeing me sitting at his table laughing and eating with his family.
