A New Brother

The man she called her husband, slowly walked over to her side, as he gently tried to pick up her hands beside her. She barely knew what to do anymore, except letting her beautiful eyes brim with tears and that meant trouble for him.

She stood there, dazed for a moment before loosening her grip on the rope holding the basket on the dining table. Then she slowly walked towards the inner room, after a taking brief excuse.

Christopher stood where he was, with a myriad of expressions, as he stared at his wife walking away from him. There was already a storm within his heart, that he couldn't run away from the one brewing beside him. After a deep sigh, he sat down quietly with a lifeless look in his eyes, at this point he knew explaining himself was as good as useless the best he could do apart from begging, was to pray that his wife and children could find it in their hearts to forgive him.

Meanwhile, Tobi and his sisters were overwhelmed most especially Tobi who was flabbergasted, he had mixed feelings about this sudden announcement of a son.

The girls didn't know if they should be excited or sad, they had so many questions they really wanted to ask internally, externally they couldn't help their imagination run a bit wild, with how it felt to have an elder brother.

What was it like to have an elder brother? Was he tall and strong like those princes in shining armor? or was he bad? Would he treat them with the same love and affection in kind?

Or would he dislike them? Even worse hate them?' This was the newly formulated hypothesis, that ran through their minds.

They were a bit apprehensive most especially Tobi, he was filled with countless doubts he bet it was unlikely for anything good to come out of having an extra brother, who they barely even know except his excuse of a father.

The unfamiliar attitude of the child, he might display wouldn't be anything they were used, there was an even greater possibility he might not like them. A step sibling was the last thing, he would wish up in his entire life at this point.

He wasn't sure if this new brother would love him, the same way his sisters did. Tobi was really worried, it wasn't his first time having an older brother even if it was a half-brother. In his previous life, he wasn't even in his older brother's good book nor did they get along well, so why would this case of a step-sibling be any different?

Having one in this new world might either be a good or a bad thing. He was really looking forward to what type of person this older brother would play out to be, hating or loving him would come down to his attitude towards him, and if they did get along that would be for the best, and if he also turned out to be a mofo then he would have no choice but to take extra measures.

This shocking revelation, made everyone quite gloomy, which in turn made the house quieter, at this point Tobi had even forgotten about completing the daily task, as usual, his priority right now was to comprehend the reason why his father cheated on his beautiful mother, even after thinking for a while he couldn't understand it.

While the house was suddenly riled up, Christy at this point felt like whatever word she had heard sounded like a sudden bolt of thunderclap to her ears.

Even though it sounded unbelievable to her and ridiculous at the same time, no matter how much she didn't want to believe she knew it was true, her husband had cheated on her.

This absurd truth meant one thing infidelity, that there was a possibility that all along he might have been deceiving, and snusnu other women behind her back while claiming he loved her.

The day slowly went by uneventfully, even completing his drinking milk daily task was hard press for him, Christy seemed to be venting her anger on both her son and her husband.

Once he got the chance Tobi grabbed hold of her udders as if his life depends on them, Christy was still angry with Christopher that she didn't realize how badly Tobi had been starving of milk.

The way he sucked her udders, was what made her return to reality and realized, that she had subconsciously been venting her little fit of rage on her child.

After realizing this, she softly caressed Tobi, as she expressed a pleading look on her face, that showed how remorseful he was. Even though she was angry, she knew it was best not to involve the kids in her marital mess.

Carrying Tobi back to his sleeping cradle, of course after she was sure enough that he had drunk to his fill, Christy softly kept the sleeping Tobi on it, after a perk on his cheek she left.

She didn't notice that the moment she left, four dark red pupils slowly unveiled themselves in the dark of night, like little clusters of red lanterns.

After opening his eyes Tobi scanned around him, before checking the notification characters that had popped up after completing the milk daily task.

'Just like the system exaggerated..... completing milk daily task no longer gives me attributes point, nor even display the usual notification characters.' Tobi stared at the system panel, for a moment as he muse.
