Demon Tale 3

However, this was a major fact in Levi's life to achieve something more than just a woodcutter but something more useful.

So, how could he let his papa squander away his life game-changer? This was something he couldn't allow, even if the person was his papa, Levi thought to himself as he made his decision.

With this thought in mind, Levi sneaked back into the house contentedly, as he entered into his favorite dreamland daydreaming about being a rich merchant valiant hero.

Meanwhile, the darkness clouding the outside world never once stopped. However, that changed with their arrival.

"By orders of the gods of our land, let peace and harmony be onto this abode!"

With those words, a group of knights slowly encircled the village. The group of knights sat on black horses laced in light silver plated armor, while the knights on silver armors surrounding the village were armed to their teeth.

Their metallic black armor as well as the embroidered sword crested on their chest region inferred the unique symbol of their glorious organization.

This was the symbol of a Shrine and could be said to be the military representative of the Holy Shrine.

It represented not only its strength but also its pride and wrath and was not to be disobeyed.

After their arrival, it was hard to conceal the unusual clatters in the atmosphere, yet they did. Every family members in the village were unaware as they slept peacefully, yet this wouldn't be for long, since their surprise would be revealed when awakened.

However, that couldn't be all or at least that was what would have been expected.

Unfortunately, everyone would soon come to a certain realization of the Shrine goal, after a while a voice was heard.

"The gods have predicted that this place owns something that it's not of them, a foreign source with unending pollution. Which they decree needs a spiritual cleansing!"

The groups of steel knights ponderously backed away on their horses, as they slowly reveal an old man sported in a brown robe with a double-crested sword embroidered on both sides of his chest.

He was about 5ft and 1inches tall, while his unusual calm smile inferred on his expression and short build, made him seem like a loving old grandpa who came for a holiday visit.

His expression was in contrast, to the eerie atmosphere that was around him, as he slowly rode his horse forward elegantly.

"EYES OF THE GODS, we have completely surrounded the area. Like you instructed!"

A knight approached him as he respectfully reported, after urging his horse over with only a visible pair of aloof eyes within his helmet. His eyes had a look of coldness, together with his features exaggerated a domineering vibe.

"Our journey begins, here!"

He gently stretched out his crease right hand, after saying this.

"Good, Shrine corps, be prepared to coordinate with each other. Success or failure lies with us."The EYES OF THE GODS voiced out, while the smile never left his face.

A group of young teenagers, mixed with a group of middle-aged men vested in grey attire walked beside him, followed by the groups of steel knights orderly spreading out into smaller teams.

Though the village seemed to be under a crisis the villagers were barely aware of any of the ongoing events, slowly the ongoing clatters soon envelop the small village.

Within a particularly large tree, that could barely be seen far ahead. A pair of sanguine red pupils, gently stare at the enchanting view below him amusingly.

"Interesting, I guess the saint humans are already here.…" The dark figure's light voice strangely faded away after he said those words.

After carefully spreading his detection ability, it had sensed both the holy Shrine and the sleeping villagers, most especially the little boy who was unaware of his perilous situation.

However, it felt it was a bit pathetic for his little friend to be taken, just like that. He was saddened, heartbroken, and also remorseful. Yet in its current state, he could only stare and watch, the unfolding heart-aching scene that was soon to come.

But what if all that could be changed? What if he could make his majesty experiments more amusing?

Filled with thrills and bloody excitement? And if by chance his majesty experiments were to become successful then he would be rewarded, but if it were to be a failed result, then...

"They are quite fast to act, and their activities are extremely incredible too,...afflitto." The figure exclaimed in a bit of admiration, and euphoria. It's had noticed their vibe even before their arrival, its job was just to watch the outcome and report the results.

However, somehow his little friend had slightly changed his course of action.

Even, though he could have been sent to rummage through the village, the pact its high-ups signed didn't give room for their intervention. Perhaps it was more appropriate to say, they were being restricted from doing as they pleased.

With the protection of the pact, the whole village was akin to a domain because of the other party. Though they were allowed to perform their experiments, that was only because it calls for it.

The figure sighed, "What a pity that it's impossible…."

Even though its body had been quivering from excitement and all the pulsing of hearts and veins. It's could do nothing, to quench the thirst, not even take a bite from his sweet Levi.

"The taste must be unique, if only..."

In the first place, massacres were exactly not forbidden. However, all research done are to be accounted for on all the humans, a single miscalculation could be seen as a blasphemy to the pact, and those discovered doing a killing spree would be burnt by holy water.

This was one of the most important lessons it had learned from its predecessors.

After determining the situation, strangely his little friend seems to have subconsciously altered his actions to intervene, it felt thrilled while watching a human sh*t show, anticipating what was going to happen next like a child.

Its mood had been piqued, especially the outcome of the experiments. Also, he was making use of this opportunity to gather more intel on the ages.

"Dolce."

Within the dark of the night, a streak of dark red brilliance from the broken sword shone with crimson.
