She a keeper

"Stop!" The voice of another girl reverberated throughout the cave, just as I was about to get swallowed by the mouth of the monster.

The source of the voice was from someone that sounded very familiar to me, and no, it was not Xiayen.

Xiayen was actually still asleep within the dead ending tunnel. Nothing happened within that tunnel, even after the wall above us had broken and fallen on top of us. So yeah... Me, and especially her, were definitely okay. Well, I'm not, but you understand, right?

Anyway, about the tunnel. Like... There was this strange work of magic that kept the space within the tunnel as it is. Hence why, the destruction of the cave did not even affect us when we were inside the tunnel, because not even a speck of dust was able to get on us when the cave had expanded in size after the monster's roar.

You see... That's exactly why I had decided to simply leave Xiayen there when I went to charge my way forward in order to attack the monster. Obviously, I had to approach the monster in order to attack it.

Cough Cough

Oh, you're approaching me, reference?

Cough Cough I'm sorry for bringing that up. Let's get back to explaining, shall we?

So... The tunnel was basically a safe zone from areal attacks. However, the problem, is that it didn't stop living things from entering. That's just a guess of mine though, which I'm guessing is true, since the vines were basically the living things that were able to enter the strange and magical tunnel.

Now, although the place might be perfectly safe for Xiayen, which would obviously mean that the source of the voice was hers, I still denied that possibility, because it was simply too improbable. Like… Why would she even tell the monster to stop? She's not that stupid, is she?

Also, other than that, I was also able to recognize the voice that I'd probably never forget.

That damn kidnapper…

Now that I think about it...Is the appearance of the monster also her doing? Her so called wanting to see if I am worthy?

If it's really that, I really want to swear right in front of her face and slap her to death… But let's not make too much unnecessary assumptions right now, aye? At the least, all thanks to her, I'm not going to become someone's late night dinner.

"Who are you?" The cute guy questioned the girl that was below me.

"Don't you remember your own friend's face?!" The girl answered, and removed her hood right after.

"You… You're supposed to be dead… If it's really you, why did you leave me alone in such a enclosed space? Is my new life's purpose just to keep guard of this place, alone?" The guy seemed to be saddened.

"I… No! We just had to make sure that you are stable!"

"Lies!" The guy yelled out loud, which caused the entire cave to tremble again.

*Bam*

You might have thought that the guy had attacked Laili with his monster form, but in fact, that isn't the first thing that he did.

The sound that you just heard was actually the sound of me colliding with a wall after the monster had thrown me away like a rag doll. Yes, indeed, I was the victim of a cruel violence… Sob Sob…

"Laili… Please… Give me some food…" Like an old man and a beggar, I cried my voice out for help.

My bones were ruptured at the moment, and I was sure that I was going to die if no one was going to help me out.

Seeing the state that I was in, Laili urgently blinked towards me, and right after appearing in front of me, she blinked again, but this time, I was with her, and we had both arrived inside the safe zone that would keep me somehow safe from the after effects of the fight that she'll probably have with the monster.

"I only need food… It's a skill of mine to restore my energy… Please… Or else, I'll die…" I demanded, dramatically.

The part of me saying that I'll die was somewhat the truth and a lie. Obviously, I would die if not taken care of, but that doesn't mean that I need food right now. What I basically told her was that I would die right now if I didn't eat. Hehehe…

Because, what if she loses? I'd rather recover and find a way to escape while she keeps that monster busy. Even if that's not the plan, I'd hate having to wait with those ruptured bones of mine. It hurts you know! So, please, let me heal!!!

"Here. I don't know if you can eat them in your state, but take all of the bread that I have left."

After Laili said her words, at least thirty pieces of bread dropped right in front of me.

"You should understand that I can't feed you right now. Goodbye…" Laili gave me her last words before she blinked away from me, in order to get closer to the monster, and to distract him from coming closer to where I and Xiayen was at.

Well… Thank you for such a treatment Laili. It seems that my judgement over you was completely wrong, hehe…

'Ita daki masuuu!!'

*Hyum* *Hyum*

Like a worm, I ate those bread in front of me straight from the ground. They were close to my mouth after all, and it was quite difficult for me to make large movements.

I had no choice…
