Chapter 36 Pearl And Damien's First Meeting

Chapter 36 Pearl And Damien's First Meeting

Damien stayed in bed a little longer to gather up energy to stand up and dress himself.

He got himself a snack from the cabinet in the kitchen. A certain person refilled all the cabinets with snacks and food ingredients once every sun cycle.

She was the only one allowed to the mansion as an outsider.

He looked himself in the mirror and nodded. Even though his bald head ticked him off, he had learned to live with it.

'I wonder when she will give me back my right to grow hair.'

A Phoenix drawing was in the middle of his head. It always made him bothered since it was like she had marked him as hers, like a thing.

The good thing was that he was the only one who could see it.

He went outside and breathed in deeply as he admired the flora. He then walked along the balcony.

Itetia who had been coming from her room saw him and came up to him.

"I don't want to work under you! Can I resign and work under Ms.Dark or Ms.Silver?" She asked.

"It us out of the question. If you resign, you leave and never come back." He answered calmly.

A frown formed in her face.

"I have full authority with anything related to you and Lino."

"...okay. I choose to stay!" She said as she grinded her teeth.

"You will have to obey my orders unconditionally, if you slight me even once...You will be a goner from Pantheon city." He threatened.

He walked past the fuming her and took the stairs down to the base floor.

Gigan, was currently seated on a chair supervising the working gods.

They were dissatisfied about his supervision since he was at the same level as them, but they couldn't say anything.

He was the one who was going to pay them and if they showed any of their dissatisfaction, he could simply refuse to pay them.

The god king behind him wasn't someone they could take on, so they couldn't even have the guts to complain if he reneged on his payment.

'This is truly great! These gods from the universe working under me feels truly great!'

He maintained a calm facade but such thoughts were going on in his mind.

A bald headed, red suited man, whose eyes were hidden behind shades walked towards him from the palace gates.

A frown crossed his otherwise calm expression. Someone he hated had arrived.

"So! Contractor Gigan, how's the work going?"

A vein threatened to burst on his forehead as the man simply humiliated him in front of his counterparts(not that he saw them as such.)

"Mr. Okoye! The work is going great!" He put note emphasis on Damien's name as he didn't want him to humiliate him any further.

The gods had pretended they didn't hear anything, but who knows what was going through their heads.

"Where is Ms. Dark? Her residence was empty."

A laugh almost escaped from Damien's mouth.

'That woman has already become mine! It would have been nice if I had recorded the video and shown him all the wonderful expressions she made!'

"She, and all of us have moved into the god queen's residence. If you want to see her, you will have to ask the god queen directly."

"Oh!"

"Or, you can just wait here and see if she will pop up! But that's only valid until you finish the remodelling." Damien continued.

After saying his piece, he went to the working gods. He wanted to see how their divinities worked. Accumulating knowledge would be beneficial to him.

One god, whose divinity seemed to be Earth, was constructing a wall!

Brown strings were being produced from his hands and weaving themselves into the wall. It was like a 3D printer.

His right index finger had a ring. It seems the Munene clan had lent them to the gods so that they could store elemental crystals needed to replenish the strings they were losing.

The moment, the wall was constructed, vines grew and took root on it. It was being done by another god whose divinity seemed to be wood.

Wood divinities were rare as most gods focused on improving their combat power.

Damien was even wondering why Gigan was looking down on him. Such gods were treated with respect, even by god kings and queens.

Any way, it didn't interest him so much that he had to ask.

He continued to watch the two as they worked.

After the boundary, they created hills and shrubs and trees.

They even built a raised pool since they couldn't dig under.

It was just one residence, but it took a lot of time.

It also seemed that Gigan had only managed to find these two.

He left them to their work and found Gigantic enjoying food. It seemed he had carried some in his spacial ring.

"I will leave you to your work, I am going back to the residence."

He said before walking back.

The teleportation formation lit up at this time and two figures materialised. Damien had just taken a step, but paused and turned back.

One was Silver and the other was a woman of ethereal beauty. Her entire self emitted a feeling of gentleness.

Damien, who had turned back was taken aback by her eyes.

'Where have I seen them?' He asked himself.

Gigan scrambled from his chair, and so too did the gods he had hired.

They went in front of the ethereal woman and bowed deeply.

"Your highness!!!"

"You may rise!" She said, upon which the trio respectfully rose up and parted to the side to allow her passage.

'Ah! Is she the owner of that eye which appeared in the illusory world? But her voice is different!'

Silver and the ethereal woman reached Damien who was lost in his thoughts.

"Why aren't you bowing in the presence of the god queen?" Silver asked as a frown appeared on her face.

"Oh! You must be a god queen! Do pardon my manners, but I won't bow!" He ignored Silver.

He had taken off his glasses and his red eyes were directly staring into the silver Pearl like eyes of the god queen.

"Besides, she hasn't introduced herself, and I don't know her." He continued rendering Silver's chance at a come back moot.

"You are a rascal, aren't you?" The sweet voice once again came out of her lips.

"Am not rascally, I just don't give a damn about boring stuff!"

"You are interesting!"

"Your eyes truly are beautiful, but what's that sad look they are hiding?"

The question led to Silver blowing her top.

"What are you talking about! My mother isn't sad! Its you who is pathetic! Mother! let's go around this fool!"

"Oh! You can go! I just said what I saw. I don't care for your opinion." Damien said nonchalantly.

"Are you busy here? Or would you accompany us? And you can call me Pearl!"

All the people at the scene except for Damien had their jaws hit the ground.

The god queen had actually asked a mere demigod to address her by name?

Silver was so shocked that she doubted that statement had come from her mother.

Pearl's curiosity had been aroused as she stared at the red eyed man.

He looked like he didn't give a care about her status. He was also one of the few who saw through her facade except those who knew of the events which led her to be like this.

His vibe, she couldn't put her finger on it, maybe the way his eyes looked like they were dead, or the way he stood as if he didn't have a care in the world...or all the above, made her curious about him.

"They say curiosity killed the cat where I come from." Damien saw through her thoughts.

"Hahaha...I will gladly be that cat!" She chuckled before she walked side by side with him towards the palace.

Silver trailed behind. She hadn't yet gotten over the shock.

Gigan and the two workers looked into each others'eyes and saw the shock contained in them.

It was simply unbelievable.

"Picking up a god queen! That guy is epic. I want to learn his skills!" The god who had been building the wall applauded.

"Your pay will be docked by 30%."

Gigan's voice silenced the god. Resentment formed in his heart. He knew that what Gigan had said wasn't going to be taken back.

'You must be jealous of that god!' He thought.

---------

"So tell me, what's your name?"

"Damien Okoye." Damien had lost interest in the woman. It was because his list had been taken care of by Dark.

He found that even though sex was good, it lacked something to truly excite him, so women had lost their appeal to him.

"What are you doing here! From what I see, you don't seem to be happy in this place!"

"I an looking for something to excite me! This place might have that something in the future. It is the reason am staying!" Damien answered. He didn't so much as take another look at the woman.
