Chapter 19: Cultivator.

Old Fei nodded his head and deliberately stroked his unkempt long beard as if contemplating hard about Myah's curious inquire.

He then turned to look at the expectation gradually building up in the children's sparkling eyes. Then, he reached out to his gourd and took a sip out of the content inside, the Dandelion Wine, a specialty of their village.

'Haaa... So good, there is nothing more enjoyable than drinking homebrew wine on a snowy day.'

After wiping his mouth with his sleeve, the old chief then hanged the gourd back to his wooden cane.

"Little Myah asked a good question. Now, listen closely, children; I will soon explain to you all about the realm of cultivation. It could be helpful in the future."

After tapping his cane onto the ground twice, Old Fei successfully gathered their attention. Then, he inhaled slightly before continuing to speak with a hoarse voice.

"In the legend that passed down through word of mouth from our forefather..."

"There are nine realms to cultivation. The first realm and the weakest are Warrior, then Elite, Master, Grandmaster, Transcendent, Legend, Divine, Mythic, Celestial."

Once the old chief has listed all the cultivation realms, he stopped and took a moment to observe the children's reactions. There was a mysterious charm and rhyme within his old voice that made the children focus.

Thinking briefly for a moment, he decided to go a little deeper into the detail of their talents and what it means.

"For a person with an F-grade talent, the chance of them breaking through to the Warrior Realm without resources is almost nil. And without breaking through to the Warrior Realm, they can't form a Sacred Life Contract with a spirit beast."

"However, a person with an F-grade talent can still form a Sacred Life Contract with an ordinary animal or beast, and the said beast will become your War Soul."

"But each person can only have one War Soul in their entire life..."

"Once you choose to form a contract with an ordinary beast while having an F-grade talent, then that would also mean even if you somehow become a Warrior in the future, there wouldn't be much difference between you and an ordinary person." Old Fei said slowly in a casual manner and also noticed the change in the children's expression.

Knowing that they can't become a cultivator because of insufficient talent, some children revealed a dumbfounded faces and were sad.

But the old chief was helpless.

These are all common knowledge that they would all learn sooner or later, but the sooner they understand it, the better it will be.

Of course, it was extremely challenging for an ordinary beast to become a spirit beast, even many times harder than when a person with an F-grade talent became a Warrior.

"Due to this reason, many of those who possess F-grade talent opt not to form a contract with an ordinary beast and wait for decades until they become a Warrior."

Old Fei continued to stroke his messy long beard, pondering over what to say next. "Hmmm..."

"For a person with D-grade talent, they would have no problem becoming a Warrior, and usually, the Elite Realm is their limit."

"For a person with a C-grade talent, they would have no problem becoming a Master given sufficient resources and could potentially reach the Grandmaster Realm."

"For those who have a B-grade talent, they would have no problem becoming a Grandmaster and could potentially become a Transcendent being if they are lucky."

"As for those with A-grade talent, they would have no problem becoming a Transcendent powerhouse, but the chance of them becoming a Legend is almost zero."

"As for the talents above that, I'm not clear about the specific details. Even the city lords in the surrounding cities are all either Masters or Grandmasters."

"..."

"Still, at the end of the day, War Soul Evolution Formula is also very crucial. If one's War Soul is stuck at Rank 1, a cultivator can still advance and become a One-star Elite given the sufficient talent."

"However, unless they find a way for their War Soul to also advance to Rank 2, the said person would not be able advanced anymore on their road of cultivation no matter how high their talent is."

"And, if a Warrior doesn't form a contract with a spirit beast, they will forever remain a Warrior even if they possessed the highest grade of talent."

"This is the law of the world."

"All in all, to soar to the heaven, a cultivator and their War Soul are to be linked to each other through a Sacred Life Contract forever, never to be separated even in death."

"Once a cultivator is killed, their War Soul would also die along with them. And if a cultivator's War Soul died, their Soul Origin Crystal would slowly crumble, and once it's entirely destroyed, they will also die."

"And that is why kids, you should always treat your War Soul as an equal because even if the entire world is against you. Your War Soul would forever be on your side." As Old Fei said this, the children give him a strange look, but he ignored it.

"Does that cover your question?" Old Fei asked.

"Un, thank you, grandpa chief." Myah nodded with a faint smile, for he has learned many things today.

Surveying the children, Old Fei noticed that some of them looked very dispirited like a wilted leaf.

He heaved long sighs.

Nonetheless, the old chief still comforted them with a few words. These little kids in the village are just like his own, and it was his obligation to teach them.

"Although some of you might not have the talent to cultivate. But don't lose hope. This world is vast and endless, and wonderous opportunities are everywhere."

"Live your life and work hard, maybe one day...Who knows? A heavenly treasure could just drop down from the sky while you plow your farm or go to the toilet and change your fate forever."

Old Fei's words moved the children, and they showed hopeful expressions.

"What? Really?"

"Gramps, are you serious?"

Just the thought that maybe one day, when they went to the toilet and discovered something that could change their fate and talent. How shocking would it be?

Perhaps they should go to the bathroom more often...

"Of course, you little monkeys should give more effort into studying hard so you can read books. In there, you can find many preferences."

"Well, that's it for today. Now, go, go back and have your lunch, kiddos."

"I'm too tired from talking for the whole morning, and my old bones need some rest." Old Fei waved his hand and chased the children away.

With his wooden cane, he supported himself and walked inside the house.

"Blackie! come and have your dried fish!"
