Jen smiled down at the first to stop at her feet. An impish blond with sparkling brown eyes; he grinned at her. “Sean says that we should introduce ourselves to you. He said that you’re someone special.”
Jennifer looked back at Sean, then down at the outstretched hand the young boy of maybe eight offered her. She squeezed it as he introduced himself. The rest of the group followed suit and Jennifer’s head spun with all the names.
The dinner bell rang and the children ran off not wanting to miss the meal. Her heart almost burst with emotion, but she kept her surface impassive.
The corners of Sean’s mouth twitched upward, but Jen was still unable to speak. He escorted her to a table where she finally regained her voice.
“Are you here to support your sister?”
“Something like that,” he said pulling her chair out.
“Are you one of the bachelors?” she asked in disbelief.
