Sean came by the table a few minutes later with a bemused smile on his face. Jennifer looked up at him and blushed.
“I didn’t realize you cared.”
The red on her face deepened. Heat emanated from her. “I got carried away,” she whispered.
Sean put a hand aside his ear. “I didn’t quite hear that. Did you say you lost control?”
She straightened, her arms racing to cross each other. “If you were any type of gentleman, you’d quit right now. I’m embarrassed enough as it is.”
A deep throaty laugh made its way to the surface. “This is too much fun, Jen. I can’t resist.”
“Then I’ll just leave,” she retorted. She stood, but he whisked her to the dance floor before she could depart.
He waltzed her around, as if he were Fred Astaire. Impressive, but not enough to let him dissuade her from being angry.
Still, she stifled a smile. “You are a cad.” She said in her best Bugs Bunny voice. “Maybe I want my money back.”
