Cleanup Effort
[ I know this chapter is really short compared to the 2k+ chapters I have been posting daily for the last 2 weeks. But I'm really tired and I didn't feel like writing that much today. So please, to god don't complain about the word count. ]
[ 4/7/1482- 5 Minutes After the Spade Pirates Left ]

" Who would think there would be this many high-ranking marines in collusion with the Hutts. I expected some but not to this extent."
" 10 Captains and 23 commanders, two of the highest Marine rank in the North Blue. How dare they call themselves Marines."
I said with shame reading the documents I got from Achilles in his office on the battleship.
The battleship docked on the island after the battle was over. It originally stayed away from the island to block the Spade Pirates from escaping and destroy their ship in case they managed to escape from me.
So my guess about Captain Mustard being connected to Paris was correct. Looks like the bastard got a hefty amount of money to keep his mouth shut.
"It seems like I have to thank you, Achilles again. For killing Paris and giving me this information."
Since I was 7, all I had dreamt of was getting revenge on that the Hutts more specifically Paris.
My family along with my older brother had been killed when the Hutts attacked my island looking for a kid who had eaten a zoan devil fruit.
They managed to find him but that didn't stop them from killing everyone on the island. The only reason I'm still alive was that my family had sacrificed themselves, so I could escape and live.
Then I joined the Marines at a very young when he w. For me, it was the fastest and easiest way to get stronger. Strong enough to get my revenge.
But since joining the marines I had met new people and experienced new things that changed me along with my views of the world.
I have seen pirates and criminals like the Hutts destroy whole islands, ruining innocent lives for no other reason than for their own sick pleasure and greed
Watching all the destruction and death, I swore to myself I would do his best to protect the lives of the innocents, thus forming my own belief in justice that I believe in.
But even after all those years, I had never forgotten about Paris. But who would thought it would be a pirate who would kill him, not me. One who I have max beliefs about.
" You can't be fucking serious!"
I said screaming getting up from my chair, my expression changing from furious, sadness to eventual disappointment.
I rubbed his forehead in resignation and finished reading everything the rest of the document.
" Is this that true face of the Marines?"
" No that can't be right. Just because a select few are corrupt doesn't mean that entire organization is corrupt to the core."
" Yes, even if it's corrupt, it could still be changed. I won't change my goals just because of one setback."
* Knock* * Knock*
" Come in," I said hearing someone knocking on the door.
" Sir, we have distributed rations to the local population. We have also compensated anyone who got hurt or got their property damaged during the fight." An officer stated walking into my room, doing a standard salute.
" Good, once everyone is back on the ship, sail to the base straight, we have a traitor to capture."
" Understood, sir." The officer replied walking out of the office.
' The reason why the country of Bali became like this is that we refused to protect even though it's our job, because of those damn Celestial Dragons. Something I plan to change when I become the Fleet- Admiral.'
I looked towards the island reminding myself of what I was fighting for.
[ 2 Hours Later ]
" Oh, Sakazuki, your back," Mustard said looking a little nervous as I entered his office with ten officers who were all pointing rifles at him.
" Don't resist, you are under arrest for treason. For aiding one of the worst wanted criminals in the whole North Blue."
" Resist and we will fire," I said, taking out my katana from my back as well in case Mustard decides to fight.
But he didn't as he was willing to offer himself up, two officers immediately put cuffs on him.
" I'm telling you, I'm innocent. I can prove it." Mustard shouted, as two officers dragged him out of the room and towards the prison cell.
" Hump, let's see if you can prove yourself in court then," I said back, huffing at the sheer gall Mustard had to lie to all the officers even now caught redhanded.
" Sir, wouldn't it be wise to report this to the central command so they can send everything to HQ?" An officer who was in the room said to me.
" Oh crap, thanks for reminding me. I'll send a report now."
I thanked the officer, rushing to my office to write that report to Central Command. It is the main base in the North Blue which controls all Marine activities. And reports every action to Marineford. They are the main brain of the marines in this sea.
[ 4 Hours Later ]
Currently, I was in a call with Captain Alex, who was in charge of the Central Command making him the highest ranking marine in the whole of North Blue.
" Sakazuki, congrats your being promoted to Captain for defeating and killing Paris." A voice conveyed to me, stunning me. As I hadn't done anything to Paris, it was Achilles who killed him.
" Captain Sakazuki, you are being promoted directly by the higher-ups in the World Government, don't try to resist. You're a smart young man, so I'm sure you know what's going on." Alex stated in an authoritative voice, stopping me from voicing my honest thoughts.
I had a basic understanding of what was going on. The World Government couldn't let the public know that it was a pirate who took down Paris. They wanted to save their reputation alongside the Marines as well.
And that only one who they could credit for taking down Paris would be me as I was on the island and found his body.
It also seems like the World Government wasn't planning on letting the general public know of the corruption going on with the Marines in the North Blue, something which irked me.
" Understood, Captain Alex," I answered now in a calm voice, as I decided to keep my thoughts to myself for now.
" Good. Now listen, this order came directly from Marineford by Admiral- Diana."
" You are being put in charge of arresting all marines who are being charged for treason and any other corruption crimes. You have full right to arrest them how you see fit."
" Wouldn't letting someone with more experience take this job to be better?" I asked confused but I didn't mind as this would give me more recognization. With the added bonus of arresting those who have tainted justice.
" Currently we are low on manpower and you are one of the strongest marine we have right now at the moment. As such you are our best option." Alex answered but I feel like he didn't tell the full story on why I'm being put in charge of this mission.
The marines want to promote Sakazuki as an new face to the World. And letting Sakazuki arrest those corrupt marines and at the same time, show the world, that newer generation of Marines are strong. Allowing the World Goverment to slowly make him their new golden boy.
But by any chance, someone leaks information about all the corruption, they would be able to show that Marines especially Sakazuki took action as soon as they found it, which would lessen that public outcry.
" What about the kings and nobles who we found out were colluding with the Hutts?" I questioned knowing they were one of the biggest reasons why the Hutts could run away as if they owned the North Blue.
" Leave that to the World Goverment, politics isn't our speciality."
" Now don't let us down, Sakazuki."
" I won't…"

[ I know Akainu's backstory is really cliche but that's the point of it. I don't wanna make his character someone who is obsessed with the past driven purely by rage. And we aren't getting his actually until like 6 years from now]
