Chapter 10 : the past (3)

Every since then, Clovers sister stayed away from her and is often staying over at her friends house. Clovers dad...he was always out and seldom at home.

"Hey sis-"

"Don't talk to me." Clovers sister slammed the door shut as she went out with her friends. Clover was always home alone and had not much friends in school.

Her relationship with her sister used to be fine but because of that day, she was seen as a freak by her sister. Clover looked at her hands and frowned.

Even though Clover's older sister was not that overwhelmed by their mothers death since she wasn't that close to their mom but she also takes after their dad quite a lot.

Clover hated her dad a lot to the core of of heart, but she had no hard feelings to her sister even if her sister called her a freak...she still loved her sister deep down somehwere in her heart.

It wasn't Clover's older sisters fault either but Clover just couldn't forgive her dad for ignoring the fact that when their mom was dying, he was out fooling around.

"I..." Clover shook her head, going back into her room to do her things.

The two sisters go to the same school but her sister spread bad rumors about Clover that weren't true to the other students of the school, making them think that she was weird.

Clover often got bullied by her classmates and she didn't have a single friend, even her own blood sister bullies her and didn't show one bit of concern for her. After she got home from school, the scene in front of her eyes infuriated her.

"Who is she...?!"

"Don't bother us and go back up to your room!" Clover watched as her dad kissed a woman in the living room, it disgusted her.

"I want to switch schools..."

"What was that? You want to switch schools?"

"Yeah..."

"Do whatever you want, it doesn't concern me. now shoo!" Clover went up to her room, locking it. She guessed that she will have to talk to one of the teacher in her school about it instead.

When Clover got back to school the next day, she went to one of her teacher, talking about switching schools and the teacher was kind enough to help her with it.

"Okay, they have accepted you, you will start going to that school tomorrow onwards, congratulations!" Clover's eyes beamed with happiness, hearing that she was able to switch schools and will not have to suffer like this, hopefully.

"Ah...are you switching schools? Did father allow it?"

"He said i can do whatever i want..."

"Hah, thats pathetic. Well okay, have fun in your new school. At least I won't have to see your face everyday in school." Clover's older sister tapped on her cheek, smiling at her. Before turning around and walking out the door.

It was just Clover all alone at home, it seems that her dad had gone out again but she couldn't care much about that old man.

"I hate everything..." Clover muttered before going up to her room to rest, it was going to be her big day tomorrow.

Clover woke up the next day, getting ready for her new school. Once she was done preparing, she went downstairs and went out of the house straight away.

She was excited yet scared. She feared that people won't accept her...but that didn't stop her, she planned on having a better life from now on, on her own without any interference.

Clover walked into her new school, she could hear the whispers and stares around her. She hung her head low and pretended not to hear them and continued her walk.

"Ah!" Clover exclaimed, she apologised to the person she bumped into, thinking that it was just her first day there and yet is already being clumsy...

"Hey hey, its okay~" Clover looked up and saw a girl with brown wavy hair along with her hazel brown like eyes, she was pretty.

"Wow it's my first time seeing someone with green eyes and pink hair! You look gorgeous!" The girl complimented Clover, making her cheeks go red from shyness.

"Ah, I'm Millie and you?"

"I-I'm Clover..."

"Clover? The name suits your eye colour!"

"A-ah thank you~" It was Clovers first time ever receiving a compliment from someone, it made her happy hear that.

"You must be new right? I'll show you to the office!" Millie pulled Clover with her to find the office. After getting her things settled in the office, she got her schedule and went out of there.

"Hey Clover, let's be friends!"

"Friends...?"

"Do you perhaps not like it?" Millie asked, showing her sad face making Clover feel bad. Its not that she doesn't want to be her friend , its just that Clover never once had a friend her whole life since her sister ruined her chance to have one.

"You want to be my friend...?"

"Sure why not?" Millie smiled, it made Clovers chest felt warm.

"O-okay!" Clover smiled back, she was relieved that now she can finally have a friend, a friend that she never once had.

Ever since then, Clover's life lit up, she finally had a friend she could talk to and eventually as they got closer. Clover told all her problems to Millie, trusting her that she won't turn her back on her.

In fact, when Millie heard it, she was shock but didn't hate Clover for it. Instead, she would try and make Clover smile when she was feeling down and unhappy, she would listen patiently to her problems and get through it with her.

"That day i cut my dad on the hand, i was just trying to help my sister, i wanted to protect her but she called me a freak for doing that..."

"What..."

"You must think im a weirdo too huh..." Clover looked away from Millie but she gently held Clovers hand and smiled.

"It's okay, your not a freak...I understand that you were just trying to help your sister and it was out of self defence..."

"Really...?"

"Mhmm, your sister is the weird one here, after being protected by you, she called you a freak? Not even a thank you? That's rude!" Millie comforted Clover as she looked at her. The first ever time someone didn't call her a freak.

"Thank you...for always being there for me~"

"Your my best friend after all~!" Millie gave Clover a warm hug. The warmth Clover felt in her heart was there again, she was happy. She wasn't scared, knowing that she has Millie by her side.

From there on, Clover and Millie's friendship took off, building a greater bond with each other as the years pass by, they spent their time together making happy memories together.
