CHAPTER 9

EVAN'S  POV :-

What the hell is wrong with me? Didn't I decide to stay away from that girl? When I kissed her today in the restaurant, I felt some strange emotion developing within me, which I have never felt before. And that scared me from the bottom of my heart. So I decided to stay away from Lily as much as possible. I decided to behave coldly and rudely with her. This way, she will never like to come near me and all these stupid feelings and emotions developing inside me will soon leave me. And I did as I thought. Everything was going according to my plan. She was hating me for being cold to her after kissing her on the cheek just a few minutes ago. We reached the company and I had decided to let her travel that public elevator, which will make her think that she is nothing special to me and will never attempt again to come closer to me. But as I was about to enter the private elevator, I saw that D'Costa entering the public elevator too. And something inside me told me to keep Lily away from him. I don't want that man anywhere near her. I can't risk to leave her alone with that pervert. I had seen his face, while he was looking at Lily today during the lunch break. His eyes were full of lust for her. And above all that, he doesn't have a good history with the girls. He is a playboy, who loves to take every girl to his bed for pleasure.

Don't act like you are a saint, Evan. Aren't you a playboy too? You sleep with a different supermodel each night. You change girls like people change clothes. My mind retorted back. And I growled at it inwardly.

I know it is right. But right now, what matters more is Lily's safety. I can't allow her to fall in that pervert's trap. So I did what I thought was right at that moment. I stopped her and asked her to ride the private elevator with me. But she was too stubborn to follow my command. Why can't she just do as I say her to do? She rejected to ride the private elevator with me and was adamant on riding that public elevator. And riding that public elevator meant riding with that pervert. And I can't allow her to do that. So I carried her on my shoulder and forcefully took her inside the private elevator. I know that the entire floor was watching us. And soon the rumours will spread in the entire company. But I don't care till I am successful in keeping her away from that D'Costa.

But why are you so worried about her safety, Evan? She is neither your mother or sister, nor your girlfriend, Evan. Then why make so much efforts to keep her away from that D'Costa? What will you lose if she even decides to sleep with him in his bed or if he even decides to seduce her to use her in his bed? Nothing. You will lose nothing, Evan. My mind attempted to put some sense into me but what caught my attention was the thought of Lily sleeping with that pervert. Just the image of her sleeping with that D'Costa made my blood boil. In anger, I unknowingly crushed the empty glass, which was placed on my table, in my palms. I didn't realize it till I felt a sharp pain coursing through my palm. I looked down to find that I had cut my palm, which was now bleeding badly. Shit! Why can't that girl leave me and my mind? Why can't I just stay away from that stupid girl? Why does she had to come today in my company? It would have been better if she never showed up for that interview. Or it would have been even more better if I would have kept the gender preference for that position of my PA. I should have stated that only males can apply. This way I would never have come across that stupid girl. I would have....

I was brought back to reality by someone knocking harshly at the door of my cabin. What the hell? Who is this idiot that has no patience and has dared to misbehave in front of me?

LILY'S  POV :-

Stupid arrogant jerk! Devil! First he dared to carry me on his shoulder like a sac of potatoes. And then he purposely gave me so many files to complete today itself till office hours. He knew that these files were too lengthy to complete today itself within office hours. Only I know how hectic it was to complete them today itself within office hours. But thank God! They are complete now. I am happy that now I can go back to my home and meet my little baby girl. Oh I miss her so much! So without wasting any more time, let's clean all this and throw these files at devil's face.

I picked up all the files and headed to the devil's cabin. I was too angry to behave politely with that arrogant cocky jerk. So I started knocking at his door harshly, impatiently waiting for him to answer. Let him have some headache too. He gave me a big headache and now its my turn to return him some. I kept knocking at his door harshly till I heard an irritated voice asking me to come in. Haha! This is what you get when you decide to mess with Lily! Now pay for your deeds, you arrogant jerk!

I opened the door and without looking up, I purposely placed all the files on his table harshly, with a loud thud,

"Here are the files which you asked me to complete today itself within the office hours. I have done my job successfully. You can check them if you want. My day is over now. So I am leaving. Good bye sir," I said everything in one breath and finally pulled my face up to look at the devil. But what I saw made my heart broke into thousand pieces. His palm was cut and badly injured. It was bleeding profusely. I looked around to find a crushed empty glass placed on his table. What the hell? Did he crush the glass in his hand? Is this man a psycho? How can he crush a glass with his hand? Wasn't he afraid of getting hurt? This man is stupid.

Without wasting another second, I started rummaging all the drawers in his cabin. Where the hell is the first aid kit?

"What do you think you are doing?" The devil's voice hit my ears. I shook my head at his stupid question. Can't he just see that I am searching for a first aid kit?

"Searching a first aid kit, Sherlock," I told him and in return I earned a growl from him.

"No need. Stop searching for it and go home. As you said, you have finished your work and now you can go home. So leave my cabin now," he ordered me, but I decided to ignore him and kept searching for the first aid kit.

Is he mad? How can I leave him alone when I know that he has hurt his palm? No way! I am not leaving him alone in this state. I don't know why, but seeing his palm bleeding broke my heart too.

"Are you deaf? Just stop searching and leave my cabin now," the devil yelled at me, but I continued doing my task and finally after a long search, I got succeeded in finding the first aid kit. After taking it out from the drawer, I headed towards the chair, where Evan was sitting, with my eyes fixed on the floor. I can feel his eyes on me, watching my every move. But right now, I was more worried about his injured hand. So I decided to ignore all the strange feelings developing within me.
