Shopping (10 January)

"So. Tell me in DETAIL about your new year with my brother," the girl who sat in front of Eve looked at her seriously. She stressed the word 'detail' in her sentence.

They were at a restaurant, waiting for their food to be served. Only two glasses of drinks on the table. After having lunch, they would have some shopping to prepare for the new semester.

Eve looked at the girl. That girl was Victor's younger sister, Elanor, and her best friend as well. "But, I already told you from the phone, and the chat as well," Eve frowned. "Oh!" She looked at the chair beside her where she put her belongings. "Here, I bought this for you."

"Woahh, thank you so much," Elanor received a paper bag from Eve with a big smile on her face. "Well, I want you to tell me in detail about it. I'm curious about it."

Elanor's words made Eve, who was drinking her drinks, almost choked. "Cu-Curious? What are you curious about?! It's just a normal holiday!" Her eyes widened in shock.

"Why are you so shocked? Or perhaps, is there something that you hide from me?" Elanor smiled full of meaning. She wanted to interrogate this friend of hers so badly.

"What happened to you? Why are you so curious? Moreover, I thought you have no interest in your brother? You only worked with him if it was pranking me or your boyfriend."

Elanor smiled widely. "I'm talking about your relationship with my brother. I may have no interest in him, but I really hope you become a couple. Isn't it nice if we become a family?"

"Yo-You?! What family?!"Eve was shocked. She couldn't believe she heard it from Elanor.

It wasn't that she didn't want to be a couple with Victor. She was afraid about having a relationship, more than being friends with him. Elanor was aware of that and understood the reason. But still, she wanted these two to become a couple and Eve became her in-law in the future.

"Excuse me, here's your order," a waiter came and served the food.

Eve blushed, not expecting she shouted when the waiter came. She felt like digging a hole to hide herself in. While Elanor, she tried her best not to laugh until the waiter finished.

"Wait… Let me laugh… I can't hold it any longer," Elanor's laugh burst right when the waiter left their table. "I can't believe you said it out loud when she came."

"Oh come on, stop it, Elanor!" Eve's cheek got redder and redder. She took a spoonful of her food to hide her embarrassment.

Still laughing, Elanor ate her food as well. "Alright. So, during the new year, are both of you really only watching movies and fireworks all night?"

Eve nodded while chewing her food. "Are you expecting something else? How about yours?"

"Oh come on. You know that I have high expectations about you and my brother. As for mine, you know, his cooking is the best! I had a feast that night," Eve told her story full of energy.

"Hmm… talking about his cooking. I think I want to learn some recipes from him. I think I have enough time for it."

Another hobby of Eve was cooking. Deep in her heart, she always wanted to learn a new recipe, but she had no time for it. So she rarely practiced that hobby and cooked only for regular meals.

She knew how good Elanor's boyfriend's food was. He was a chief at her uncle's restaurant, and the best at it. She visited that restaurant whenever she had time, not only because of the special treatment she would get, but also delicious food.

"Hey, don't tell me you're so busy during this holiday as well," Elanor's eyes examined Eve.

"Well, I told you that I will take on several projects during this holiday," Eve said as if it was nothing.

It was really nothing for Eve, but it was not nothing for Elanor. She became annoyed with her friend's answer. "Hey, Eve," she put her spoon down. "You don't have any fun plans? Go somewhere like a park, beach, or whatever it is maybe?"

Eve nodded. "So what? I enjoy my activities so far, and there's no problem. Moreover, you know that as long as I'm with your brother, there will be no problem. Well, I think at least we will go to a library."

"Yeah, yeah. Do as you want. I'm tired already just from asking you to be more than friends with him."

Eve smiled awkwardly. "Elanor, not now. When I find the right time for it, I will try to have a more serious relationship with your brother. Or maybe you can ask your brother yourself."

"Ah," Elanor silenced for a moment. "I'm sorry for forcing it on you. But remember that holding your feelings like that isn't good either. Let me tell you a secret. I'm certain that my brother has feelings for you. You know, he's bad when it comes to romance."

"Thank you for saying that. For now, I want to enjoy my time with him. I'm sure he wanted to do the same."

Elanor took another spoonful of her food. "Okay okay. Make sure you have enough rest. My brother goes crazy whenever you're sick." After putting the spoon in her mouth, she continued, "now eat. We have to buy a lot of things."

After they finished their food, they left the restaurant and went shopping. First, they bought some supplies. Binder papers, pens, and other stuff needed.

"Wow, you buy this much?" Eve was shocked when she saw Elanor's basket. She bought various types of rulers, pencils, thick papers, and so on.

"What can I do when there's a lot of projects waiting," Elanor just sighed. She would have a lot of projects for next semester and all of them were tough. "Well, I bet you have ordered tons of electronic things."

Eve nodded and sighed as well. "Yes." She also would have a lot of projects. The only difference with Elanor was she didn't really buy much as the supplies she needed weren't in the mall they were visiting. She usually bought them online to get those items easier.

"Huft, everything will be hard. Okay, so next! Let's buy some clothes and accessories!"

Both of them were enjoying their time together.
