Annoying Teammates (19 February)

This Saturday, Evelyne had a meeting with her team from group assignment at her uncle's restaurant. She had worked really hard to make sure the assignment finished without any problem. "They at least won't mess it up, right? I hope they have fixed the problem as I requested." She prayed before she stepped foot out.

After driving for a little while, she finally arrived at her uncle's restaurant. After she parked her car, she went into the restaurant and her eyes wandered around. 'They're not here yet?' Evelyne rolled her eyes when she couldn't find her teammates. She could expect this much considering who her teammates were. Yet, it still annoyed her so much.

'Whatever.' She rolled her eyes and walked to a table in the middle row. A waiter noticed her and came to her table to collect her order. When the waiter had returned to her station, Evelyne took out her laptop and started working. At least there was something she could do to not waste her time just waiting.

After waiting for an hour, Evelyne finally got news from her teammates. They were so busy that they forgot about the meeting and they would be there in a few minutes. Annoyed, if Evelyne didn't remember that she was in her uncle's restaurant, she would've thrown her phone. Evelyne looked at her table. "I have even finished my food and drinks…" She clenched her fists tights. "Right, I have to be calm for now."

Another fifteen minutes passed and finally, Evelyne could find Wilson and Brandon, her teammates. "Sorry for being late. But as I said, we are busy men. We can't even stay here for long." Both of them took a seat in front of Evelyne.

Evelyne glanced at them. "Why? What business do you have after this?" She groaned. 'There is nothing I can hope for from them! I'm afraid they don't even do their part.'

"We have an appointment with our friends. You know, they're waiting for us already, yet we told them we will be late because of this meeting," Wilson said with his eyes wide open to convince Evelyne.

"Yeah, yeah… I understand," Evelyne gave up dealing with these two. "So, where's the material I asked you to find?" She opened her hands, ready to receive their works.

Both Wilson and Brandon opened their bags and took their laptops out. "Actually there's no change on my part. That's good enough already. Let me resend you the file," said Brandon with his eyes focused on his laptop's screen.

"Same here. I don't even know why we need a meeting like this," added Wilson.

"What?!" Evelyne was shocked. "I told you anything you need to fix!" She groaned with her hands clenched. 'As I thought.' She lost all her hope on them and working all day long for a week haunted her.

Wilson rolled his eyes. "Oh come on Evelyne. Just because this is your idea, we need to follow your instructions! If you need a more detailed document, go find it yourself!" He said, approved with Brandon's nod.

"Then, do. You. Have. A new. Idea. For. Our assignment?" Asked Evelyne, stressing in every word.

"No? Why?" Brandon frowned.

Being asked, Evelyne pulled herself back a little. She was too shocked to even think straight. After she took a deep breath, she answered. "Seems like you dislike my idea, so why don't you come with yours instead?"

"But what idea can I come up with? Yours already great Evelyne."

Evelyne sighed. "Then, do your work, Brandon, Wilson. Fix your previous work! Don't just copy and paste the internet!"

Wilson bent his body toward the table. "Eve, we're not that smart! We need the internet to find the information you asked before! If you want something else, do it yourself."

"Alright, do whatever you want. I won't write your name here either,"said Evelyne tiredly. She also noticed the eyes that were drawn over their table. It was better if she stopped the argument.

"Evelyne!" Brandon hitted the table and shouted. "You cannot simply do whatever you want nor order us around! Who do you think you are?"

"Brandon, everyone is looking here. Let's just go. Evelyne cannot kick us out from the group anyway since the lecturer assigned us here himself." Wilson tried to calm Brandon down. He put his laptop back in his bag and lifted the bag on his shoulder.

"You're right. Let's go now," said Brandon while getting ready to go. "Tell me what should we do except for fixing the last one, Eve!" He continued as he and Wilson left Evelyne alone.

At the same time, Jovan who just entered the restaurant looked at them. His shift was about to begin, yet looking at Evelyne, he felt like he needed to do something. So he walked toward her table and asked. "Eve, you alright? Do you want me to make something? Or should I just call Victor?"

Hearing Victor's name, Evelyne who was focused on her laptop turned her head in panic. "No! Don't do that Jovan. He's busy already."

"Then… Do you need anything?" Asked Jovan.

"Uhmm, a coffee and some snacks please. Any snack will be fine," answered Evelyne.

"Eve, are you sure you want coffee?"

Evelyne nodded to Jovan's question. "Yes." She continued to focus on her laptop while Jovan went to the kitchen and prepared her order. Brandon and Wilson left Evelyne with tons of work to be done alone. 'Those annoying teammates. I don't want to be in the same team as them ever again!'

In five minutes, Jovan was back with Evelyne's coffee and snacks. He wanted to serve it himself since Evelyne was his friend as well as his boss' nephew. "Tell me if you need something, Eve."

"Thank you Jovan. You're the best!" Evelyne smiled at him.

When Jovan returned to the kitchen and started working, Evelyne sipped her coffee. "Ah… Coffee is the best!"

With a deep breath, she continued her work. She needed to finish the assignment no matter what. She didn't want to let those man getting in her way.
