Chapter 14

Starfall Severlance's POV:

After I gave everyone a piece of my mind, I fell into a deep sleep to rid myself of mental and physical exhaustion. I mean, I was sobbing hard while utilizing my Spiritual Sense after all. I assumed I was carried back by Father who was also accompanied by Brother Kyong, the bodyguard because when I woke up, I was on my bed in my room again.

-

That evening, my father came in to check up on me. He told me that I was a Spiritual Sense genius born once in 10 thousand years and, not to hold it against my elder sister Crystal because she was still a child. "She was a genius who reached Body Refinement realm at your current age of five. Of course, it was normal to dislike a person who harmed you, it's even acceptable that you would avoid the person in the future. But, the person you're about to hate and avoid is your elder sister. Therefore, please discard today's fear and resentment and instead forgive her...Crystal's, still learning."

-

"Her strength?"

-

"No, her fanaticism towards you."

-

"Huh?"

-

"Oh, right~ I wasn't suppose to reveal this yet...Uhm, just forget what I said."

-

"What do you mean by her fanaticism towards me? Can you please explain, father?"

-

"Uhm...To put it in child terms, she likes you."

-

"As a friend?"

-

"No, as a romantic interest. You're Crystal's first and current crush."

-

I was speechless at this newfound discovery.

-

At the mere age of 5, I was already acknowledged by the family as a Spiritual Sense genius, had already established the connection between the human body with Heaven and Earth, resulting in me also stepping into 1st stage Body Refinement realm, and had already attracted a girl...ignoring the fact that she was my cousin and elder sister.

-

Hand in chin, I was considering how much strength I should show in the near future. Because as of right now, I was only a 5 years old. Even if I have godly means that defy the laws of Heaven and Earth, it would be best not to ever use them or else I might never be able to live life slowly. Not only that, I was wondering whether I should continue cultivating my mind. Currently, with the strength my Spiritual Sense, I could already exert pressure on my family patriarch and the elders, and that wasn't my full power yet. If the situation required, I could have used [Spiritual Wave] to put everybody into a week long coma...But that's already overkill, so let's not. I admit, although I'm not a talented cultivator of the Martial Dao, I make up this lack of talent with my understanding of the Spiritual Dao. Spiritual Dao is like Martial Dao, but instead of understanding your martial arts and body cultivation techniques, I cultivate my spirit tempering and soul perfecting arts. Everything about the Spiritual Dao is similar to the Martial Dao, even the cultivation levels are the same...back home, that is.

-

Here, I'm not too sure. From what I've sensed, the Martial Dao of this world is pretty fuckin low. Or maybe it's just this family...I've already carefully checked out every elder level figure here. Family patriarch Mani. G was an early stage Nascent Soul expert, the Senior Elders varied between mid stage and late stage Golden Core realm whereas the Junior Elders varied between late stage Divine Sea realm and early stage Golden Core realm. The family's line up isn't bad but it's not good either, no wait, it's strength is actually mediocre compared with the other families I grew up in in my past lives. As for my siblings, the strongest was Elder Sister Yunfeng and the weakest, me. Then again, I am still a five year old child but that doesn't mean I should slack off right? Yeah, I should start my cultivation journey as early as possible...Before I knew it, I'd already doze off.

-

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I shouted from afar. As I got closer to the bright red steel door separating me and my parents, I couldn't help but weep at the thought of finally seeing my parents again after completing the island's mission last month. It had been hard out there, but now that I'm here? I'm couldn't stop myself as tears streamed down my face as I recalled the countless deaths of my island brothers and sisters. What did we go out for? Why did we choose to volunteer ourselves? What was the purpose of that mission? All I could ever think about was death. We were sent outside to die. We volunteered ourselves to die. The mission itself was to ask us to go and die. To die for what? To die for the island? The sect? The-

-

"Ah, young master Starfall...You're finally home."

-

Hearing this familiar voice, I turned my head towards the sound and saw an white hair old man standing under a tree, smiling at me.

-

"Hmm, it must have been tough on you...Come in, Senior Yue and his wife are waiting for you." The old man informed before he pushed open the red steel doors and strode into the house.

-

I slapped myself a couple of times and managed to recollect myself before I followed him in.

-

Right, I was home. Any worries or sadness I had on me during the mission was gone. There was no sadness here, only warmth and happiness.

-

As I crossed the courtyard separating the entrance with the main house, I decided to recall about my past as a form of reassurance that my path was the correct one. Alright, let's start.

-

My name is Yue Xingluo, a native of True Star Island. My father was Yue Xingchen, the head of Moon Hall and was an elder of True Star Island, a branch force of the strongest sect of Heaven, True God Sect. I started out as a normal disciple of True Star Island. Even as the young master of Moon Hall, I was not exempted by the island rules. After entering the sect, I worked hard. I knew that great power does not come without great sacrifice. If you want to acquire that great power, then you must be ready to sacrifice something of equal value in return. People born in heaven were different from people born under the heavens. Their mindsets were different, their beliefs were different, and their morals were different. People born in Heaven do not have the blessings of Heaven. Remember when people will praise geniuses as Heaven's Gifts? How the Heavens were helping them whenever they were about face calamities? How the Heavens have blessed these geniuses with plot armor luck? Yeah, people like me who were natives of Heaven do not have such luck. The average common people of Heaven were already God realm experts, the disciples of Heaven Sects had already attained Heavenly Wing realm.

-

As for the geniuses born in Heaven? Well, they exist but their existence was pitiful. On their every birthday, Heaven would send them a challenge. Be it survive ten strikes of Heavenly Lightning or collect a vial of Azure Dragon Blood...As long as the challenger passes the test, he or she would then be allowed to continue their progress on the path towards the end of the Heavenly Dao. This was Heaven's way of nerfing geniuses, or so I'm told. The lives of genius natives were cruel and dangerous. One small slip during these challenges would usually result in the challengers' deaths. Most genius natives do not live past the age of 200 as the challenges got ridiculously harder at the that point. As for those who do live past the age of 200, they were now Heavenly Gods that led their own sects and strived to reach an even higher realm.

-

As for me, I was indeed one such genius. I was currently 150 years old and I have survived 145 Heavenly Challenges till this date. At the mere age of 140, I've successfully passed my 140th challenge and was given some enlightenment, resulting in me breaking past my 100 year long bottleneck and successfully reached Heavenly Emperor realm. I was probably the last person of my generation to reach Heavenly Emperor realm but hey, when I broke through myself, I was so happy that it took 30 inner sect brothers and sisters of mine to calm me down. Then after that, I was sent on a 10 year long mission by the island. 10 years later, I have returned home and was now standing in front of a shoji. My parents were waiting for me behind these doors and yet, why was I having a bad feeling now? 'This was my home. This was where I was raised and grew up in. What could be wrong then?' Fuck it.

-

"Mom, dad, I'm coming in." I informed them that I was entering before I slid the door open.
