She was late

Cleo's POV

She was Late!

It was Monday. It was the first day of the week! The most busiest day ever! The day were the streets are packed with people. Some are running, rushing, hurrying to there places they are going. But she was late!

Kiekie was late!

It's 7:59 am, we had just entered class after devotion, and she hasn't arrived yet!

I wondered what had happened? I was kind of worried for her. For the past eleven years; we had been friends.

She's more than a friend now! She is the sister, I never had.

It actually hurts me to the core, when her parents and our peers bullied her.

"People will always try to make you feel weak and useless; when they know you're much more cable, and stronger then them. They will only stop when you've gained self confidence and self love for yourself."

My father had made me feel like that. I knew how, it felt! Anyway, I'm not here to write my personal story.

I've decided, to write Kiekie's story. My story will follow later, which I've entitle "Never Give Up". It's part of the believe series.

It was 8:00am! Mr. Randolph entered class. He was our chemistry teacher.

This was Kiekie's favorite class, and she wasn't here yet!

Dear Lord, please allow her to come before first period ends. Amen! I prayed, silently to God.

At 8:39 am, Kiekie finally arrived! She looked anxious, and nervous as she stood at the door. I knew her heart was beating loud like a victory drum, they beat during celebration.

Too bad, I couldn't hear her heart's beat because our seat are far away from the door. We were on the third row to the left and she was at the door.

I couldn't hear her heartbeat, because I am a human. I am not a werewolf who listens to heartbeat from afar...

My seat was the third seat, and Kiekie's seat was the second on our row.

I could tell she was afraid, because her eyes were shining wide behind her glasses. That I least I could tell, because in physiology you study human from their body language; especially their eyes!

Mr. Randolph allowed her in class. She greeted us shyly and vampire speed walked to her seat.

We were in a class of thirty eight students, four hated her more than they hated the devil himself!

Amanda, Annette, Danielle and Chuck, hated her so much! Chuck's dad was one of the biggest shareholder in Kiekie's dad kernel oil company. They always tried to make her regret being BORN!

They decided to bully her, because she was late; by calling her the Principal. She quietly sat in her seat, ignoring them.

After a few minutes! Mr. Randolph discussed the quiz we wrote last Friday.

He promised to take the highest scored student out for his birthday dinner. Which was this coming, Friday!

He normally arranged his papers in descending order. He gave everyone's paper, except Kiekie's. Others started to whisper saying hurtful words, as usual.

She bends her head down on the desk. I knew she was crying, because she I could see her shoulder shaking violently. I knew she was worried about people bullying her!

I guess you can never get used to hurtful words. Especially, when you are not emotional strong. You can only get use to it, when you know how to use your subconscious mind; instead of letting others control it for you!

I didn't know, why Mr. Randolph didn't give Kiekie's paper. She was one of the best science students!

I'm not a science students rather an arts student. I took after my late mother, who was a journalist.

So bad, we are forced to study all 14 subjects! There administrators said, "some people are still in the state of dilemma."

" Some are still suffering from indecision as to what to do in the future."

After few minutes, which seems like centuries Mr. Randolph finally called her name.

And guess what?

She was the highest!

I was so proud of my baby girl!

I always knew that she was amazing! The first day I saw her, I had a strong desire to protect her.

When we met, she couldn't even speak English! She only knew how to French.

I couldn't blame her. She was born in Ivory Coast ( Cote D' Ivoire).

All her time there, she didn't hear people speaking English because she was home schooled. They used that against her to bullied her.

Luckily for me, I can speak French. I learned it from my mother, she learned multiple languages as she studied mass communication.

Kiekie beautiful eyes sparked with happiness, when I greeted her in French. From then on, we became best friend. I taught her English and she taught me more French.

I always knew she was created for greatness!
