CHAPTER 61: CRAZY HEART
“I swear to God I feel like I was going to die back there. A guy and a girl could be friends but I don’t think it’s safe if they are left alone in an empty room.” – Ira P.

“Ahem! Excuse me?” Nurse Nesty, the old plump school nurse, stood at the door looking at them with scathing eyes. With her arms folded in front of her, she said in her high-pitch voice, “Do you guys need something from the clinic? I’ll be closing it soon.”
“Yes, nurse. One second!”
Nurse Nesty responded with pursed lips and went back inside, rolling her eyes.
“Can we drop this argument and just go in?” he pleaded.
Afraid that she might irritate the prickly nurse, she followed Skye inside. They caught Nurse Nesty on her table, preparing the first aid kit for Ira.
“She’s salty. She must be tired.” Skye whispered.
“She’s always salty,” Ira whispered back, disagreeing with him.
