"You don't have to do this." I held my hands up. I was scared for my life. 
"One of us has to live and it's gonna be me."
It was then that I truly wondered: How did we become like this? 
A thriller based on five types of people: A murderer, a prosecutor, a hacker, an assaulter, and a nurse. They are all put into situations where they are in a coma and are brought into a whole other world, in which there is no one besides each other, where they must complete personal challenges based upon their pasts. If they complete the challenges, they are able to live again and awake from their comas. But, if they don't complete their challenges, well-I guess you'll have to see.

The Fate Upon Us

If you remember, earlier in the book, before the group started their challenges, they each had to write on a piece of paper their reasons for living. Here, in the last chapter of the book, I will share with you all the finest responses to those questions. Enjoy! 


Jayce: I’m not really sure why I have to share such things to someone I don’t even know, but since it’s just between you and I, I suppose I can be honest without fear of judgement. My reason to live is quite simple, I would like to continue to support my little sister and my dad. I think that if I make it out of here alive, I’ll stop being a murderer. I’m not being a good person by doing those things and it’s not something that would make my dad proud. My reason to live would be to make my dad proud again. My reason to live would be to bring the light back in my father’s eyes again. Permanently.
