Mate

"The party will start soon. Hurry up."

"Yelling at me won't change the fact that I dont want to go to this stupid party. All I want is for you to stop trying to change me," I said tired of changing clothes over and over again. Each time receiving disapproval from her. I came out in the latest clothes I had to try on. I am telling that if she makes me try on something else then I will send her to Lucifer.

"That is still.."

"Enough," I shouted, she is getting on my nerves. "If you dont like the way that I am dressed then go to the party without me."

"Okay fine. The party is at night anyway so it's possible many won't notice your attire," she said and I facepalm myself. If the party was at night and in dark then why did she make me change so many clothes.

"Let's just go."

We left the house with our cousins too and went on to the party. Gabe was the one driving while Grace and I sat on the back seat. Parties aren't really my thing and I have reasons to hate parties. When you have lived as long as I have then even you will also hate such things. They bring pleasure but only temporarily, the feeling and thrill don't last long at all.

I remember in my third life I was the king of parties. I was the most popular boy in school and in the whole of the town I lived in. A party wasn't one until I was there and all of it was fun until I grew tired of being in the spotlight all the time. Being famous and popular is fun and all but only for one life time.

"Tian, wake up. We are here," I heard my sister shout and got out of my thoughts.

"I can hear quite well, there is no need to shout."

"Is that the reason that I had to call you five times. Foolish boy, just listen to yourself," she scolded and I rolled my eyes out of boredom. She speaks like an old person with a lot of experience but she is only sixteen years old.

I wonder what will she do and how she will lecture me when she finds out how old I am. But age is just a number they say so it's okay.

We walk straight into the building that will be my prison from now on. I have been to highschool four times and this is going to be the fifth time I do that. I have learned everything that they teach in schools but the curse won't let me rest.

It is called a curse for a reason because I suffer everyday of my life. Leaving the same life, learning the same thing is kind of exhausting. But I have fought for so long that I am tired. Now I just go along with it all with no energy left to fight. My life is boring and nothing interesting ever happens and that is all I am hoping for.

"Get out of your head. How are you supposed to make friends and be popular if you constantly live in your head?" Bella asked making me the center of attention to my cousins.

"First of all, I don't want to be here. And secondly I don't want to be popular. You want that," I pointed out feeling cornered by her.

"You know that I am doing this for your own good," she defended and I surrendered. Fighting with her is pointless.

We get to the field, the party lights were on and the music was playing way too loud. The students were dancing everywhere and having a time of there lives. There were drinks and snacks at the snack table but I dared not touch anything there. Years of parties have taught me not to touch a drink or a snack in a high school party. They are always laced with some thing or the other to get you less tense.

"Bella don't drin.."

"Relax dreaming beauty," she says taking the drink anyway. She hands one to Grace and to Gabe and they take it.

"Now want us to show you guys how to have fun in Saffron falls. I happen to be the queen in this place," Grace said bit I shook my head. She can sacrifice Bella to the popular world but I don't want to be a part of it.

"Sure thing but teach her. I am out," I say and leave before the Queen bee stopped me in my tracks and force me to attend this stupid party that doesn't even come close to the ones I hosted in the past.

Walking away my werewolf nose can't help but smell the presence of vampires. Not just one but I can feel like I am surrounded by a lot of them. Casting a spell on the school ground and almost have if the people in the party were supernatural. Werewolves, witches and vampires alike.

If I have learned anything from my curse it is that supernatural's were the perfect recipe for disaster and trouble and it's best to stay far away from them even if I am one of them.

I ran away from the party and search for an empty classroom far away from the party and get myself comfortable to rest for the rest of the night. The stars in the sky look so beautiful from the room at the other end of the school. And it is also very peaceful, like my kind of place.

The door opened and someone came into the room. There was no light in the room as I didn't want to attract attention but still someone came in.

"Who is there?" I asked but there was no reply. I got up from the window and moved towards the door, the person who came on was giving me the creeps.

"Why are you leaving?" I heard a cold chilling voice say in the room and stopped in my tracks. I looked back in the room but the person had moved from where he was and was now standing right in front of me.

"Mate," he whispered taking in my scent loudly right into my ears.
