Meeting again

I ran away straight to my room and locked the door behind me. Disbelief was written all over my face but that was a problem that I could deal with later because right now I was transforming into a werewolf and it was not at my will. Jumping out of the house through the window I got and all fours and started running away from the house.

I ran on top of the houses in the neighborhood as I slowly change into a wolf. My eyes wandered left and right to find a forest where I can run in peace. Spotting what I was looking for I changed direction and ran towards it, jumping down from the roof I disappeared into the forest. The forest was cold but the white fur covering my whole body kept me warm.

I didn't want to attract any wrong attention from my neighbors so I quickly looked for a secluded place and took a nap to wait for the morning.

*****

The night was beautiful and cold, just the way I like it. I left the mansion to go for a run but decided on taking a walk instead. I enjoy the cool breeze of the night more than anything in the world.

The walk in the forest was peaceful and it calmed my worried mind. In a day's time school starts again and I have to force myself to attend. Despite having learned everything that is being taught, I have to do it all over again. The council orders that we have to go to school to appear normal but no amount of school can ever make me normal.

The council has such stupid rules that they force upon the vampires in town as long as it is approved by the order. The order makes all the laws related to vampires and all including the council have to abide by those laws as long as you are a vampire. The vampire lord is the one who is in charge of the order but he is way too lazy to do so much work so in his place his right hand helps him to do that while he takes a vacation.

I wouldn't call what I am doing a vocation, going to school is so much work but it is better than worrying too much about the fate of an entire race. I would pick school over the order any day. I jumped up to the trees and held on to the branches. Being up here always gives me some closure. It reminds me of the past which I never want to forget.

Those beautiful red eyes sent shivers down my spine, the soft white fur with blue color around the neck. The beautiful whitetail with blue stripes, all of which haunted me day and night.

I have never forgotten my first love nor have I ever forgotten the pain that the love caused me. His love was pure and his betrayal was like being stabbed by a thousand knives to my heart.

I stared in the distance as I recalled the memories of the past that left a scar on my heart that will never disappear. My eyes caught a glimpse of something in the distance that looked like the one from my past. I quickly got down from the tree and ran towards the wolf. I tried not to get too close to spook it but I had to be sure.

I got close to it and saw its beauty under the moonlight and I was rendered breathless. It was him and I wasn't imagining it. He was back, but how was that possible when he sacrificed his life to save mine. He died for me and left me broken and hurt, so how can he be back here. How can he be alive?

I waited around in the bush and watched his every movement carefully. Once he had fallen asleep I moved closer to him and took a seat next to him and gently brushed my hands against his fur. I couldn't believe my eyes that the one who had stolen my cold heart had returned and was now in my territory.

Joy blossomed inside me, I wanted nothing more than to reunite with him again. He had to be mine and this time I did never plan to let him go. "The first time we met was a mistake, the second time was a coincidence and this third time that we are meeting is fate. You are my fate and I don't plan to let you go ever again," I whispered to him.

His fur was just as soft as I remembered it. It was so much fun to caress it with my hand. Brushing his fur and seeing him again brought life back into my dead soul. "The memories we lost will be ours once again but this time will be different," I vowed to myself. "I will make you so selfish that you won't be able to bring yourself to do any selfless act. You will never sacrifice your life for anyone again. Because I can't live without you," I mumbled to myself.

I stayed by his side the whole night not closing my eyes for a single moment. The sun was coming up and I had to leave, my uncle would be furious if he noticed my absence today of all days. We have to go to the order and discuss important issues concerning werewolves and sleep was important before a big day, he preached.

I kissed the sleeping wolf on his forehead and bit him goodbye. I rushed off into the distance towards the lake to take a bath. I had to wash off the werewolf scent I had on me because it would be a big issue if anyone were to find out about him.

In my world where the council and the orders are concerned vampires and werewolves were forbidden from being together in that kind of way. That is the reason that I have never told anyone about him and I never plan to. I would never risk his life by going public with my feelings but it won't be for long. With his return, I plan on destroying that stupid law that might stop us from being together.

Vampires and werewolves have been mortal enemies for years it is said that they can't be romantically involved.

When I am sure that I am clean of him I race back to the Lombardi mansion with the hope of seeing him once again. I arrive home five minutes later and climb into my room through the window.

"Where were you?" I heard my uncle's voice behind me but I didn't bother to turn around. I walked over to my closet and picked out a black suit to wear. "I asked you a question young man," he came again but I paid him no heed.

I got dressed and put on my black polished shoes before turning my attention to him.

"Let's go," I said not answering any of his questions. He had no right to question me and it would be in his best interest to keep his nose out of my business.

"The order is awaiting your presence. They need to discuss what to do about the silver moon pack," he reported.

"I too wanted to discuss something with them. I think that it is time that some laws concerning vampires and werewolves have become old with time. They need revision," I said and had looked at him with surprise on his face.

It wasn't like me to interfere in the Order's matters let alone give an opinion. I am not for my silence and a lot of other qualities that make all vampires fear me. All except my uncle, he is a thorn in my neck that no matter how hard I work I can't seem to find a way to get rid of him.

"What laws are those?" he asked me, curiosity and anger written all over his face.

"The one which forbids a vampire and a werewolf to ever fall in love with each other. I think that it is wrong for the order to dictate who a vampire can love," I replied calmly and watched as a nerve popped in his forehead. I can tell that he hates my suggestion and the idea.

"But Daemon that law has been there for a very long time and.." I stopped him before he went to a lecture about history that I already know.

"I know that and that is why I want it to go. Vampires should have a right to decide who they love and that it is," I said closing the topic for any further discussion.

"If the Lord does not mind. Can I ask him a question?"

"That in itself is a question uncle. Why ask for permission for something that you have already done?"

"Apologise my Lord. But has the Lord perhaps fallen in love with a werewolf?" he asked me. I showed no reaction to his question and continued on my path.

"Think whatever you want uncle but my decision is final."

*****

I woke up very early as the sun had already risen. I stretched my hands and my legs and got up from the bushes. I cast a spell and got some clothes from the house and put them on. I had the weird feeling in my heart from the weird dream that I had. His voice still echoed in my ears with the wishes and vows that he made. It was just a dream but it felt so real like the person was right here with me through the night.

I teleported myself back to my room and went straight into the bathroom to shower. The smell of the woods was all over my body, that and a mix of lavender and mint. I washed myself to get those scents out of my body as they made me very uncomfortable.

"Tian, hurry up in there. Breakfast is ready and everyone is waiting for you," I heard Bella shout in my room. I got out of the bathroom completely dressed and stared at the Drama Queen.

"Good morning to you too," I said getting into the room and taking a seat next to her on the bed. "How was your sleep?"

"It was horrible. There was no air conditioner in my room. The pillows weren't even fluffy, the blanket was rough. The bed was uncomfortable and I barely slept a wink," she complained and I rolled my eyes at her.

"Those are not good enough reasons for mom and dad to allow you to return home," I stated to her knowing the reason for her numerous complaints so early in the morning.

"Alright fine," she said sitting up on the bed. "Forget about that for now. I was speaking to Grace our cousin and she told me that Saffron high is having a back-to-school party at the football field. You and I are going," she said and I shook my head in refusal.

"No party for me."

"I never said it was up for discussion. We are going and that is final. Now let's have breakfast."

We went downstairs and walked into the dining room. My eyes met with my aunt's eyes reminding me of what happened last night. I sat down nervously across from her wondering how exactly I knew her. She was able to trigger my transformation with a single touch and that was something that had never happened before.

I ate my breakfast with my head down not missing the stare that she was giving me. I tasted garlic in my food and knew why they were watching me. It seems that they are testing me. There test put a smile on my face, for one to a vampire garlic is eatable, holy water is drinkable and with daylight rings, they can walk in the sun. They don't glow like they are described in books and some that are powerful don't have to be invited into a house before they can come in.

But I wasn't going to rain on their parade and just had my food quietly.
