Who Are You?

Glenn's Apartment

Aileen's POV on

"By the way, first of all, what is your surname and where are you from?"

I fell silent hearing the question from my contract husband.

Yes, contract husband because this was a fake marriage.

Really, it never occurred to me before, that I would undergo a fake marriage. Why did I call a fake marriage?

Because this was really a fake marriage. I had absolutely no idea that our meeting would end like this. I married to a man I just met, who I didn't know at all. I even just knew his name when we took our wedding vows this afternoon.

What the hell!

"I... I...."

"Tsk, could it be that you don't have a surname? Ok, that's no problem. The important thing is that your origins are clear. Come on, now tell me all the details. I want to know everything. Who are you?" Glenn interrupted with demanding tone, making me swallow my saliva with difficulty.

"Oh my! Why is he so fussy? He wasn't like this at the beginning of our meeting," I thought nervously.

"Hello, I'm talking to you!"

"Tsk, don't be fierce, Uncle. I hear you. Relax, I want to explain it to you now," I said, as he fiercely interrupted my thoughts.

"You answer me very long. Look what time it is. Tomorrow I still have to go to work." Glenn grumbled, causing me to quickly look at the clock on the wall.

"Then you better go to sleep. The important thing is that you already know my name," I said quickly and hoped he would agree to my request and forget about his questions about my surname and where I was from.

Glenn shook his head with an annoyed squeak, making me realize he wasn't the kind of type who gave up easily on what he wanted.

"I have a long curfew. If you want I can wait for you until dawn," Glenn said and his words irritated me even more.

"Huft.... Calm down, Aileen. You can do it," I thought quietly with a sigh of resignation.

"Fine, you pusher. Who asked you to marry me." I grumbled before starting my introduction session, but unfortunately my mutter was answered by him only with a casual shrug.

"Hn."

"My name is Aileen Soraya. I am-

"Aileen Soraya, no surname?" Glenn interrupted, making me growl in annoyance that he casually cut my words off.

"Huft! You are a very talkative man. Maybe when I asked you for money for household expenses, you wouldn't give it." I said and he shrugged again.

Sigh! He really was insolent.

"For my wife, I don't mind fulfilling her inner needs moreover this is just money which is just a trivial matter," Glenn replied with a smirk, then chuckled with a shake of his head.

"I am joking, carry on," he said with his lips stifling a laugh.

"Damn it! You watch out," I thought angrily.

"Tsk, just watch out! If you interrupt what I'm saying again, I'll make sure, if Mom will find out about us," I threatened with narrowed eyes, but he oddly answered with one eyebrow raised.

Oh.... Did I say something wrong?

"Mom? Since when did my Mom become your Mom?" Glenn asked with the corners of his lips raised.

"Oh my God, this guy," I thought and held back a growl so as not to scratch his face right now.

"Damn, I better get out of here," I continued.

I stood up and as I was about to leave the living room of Glenn's apartment, I felt something tug on my arm and suddenly I felt the force of gravity and sat back on the sofa with him short laugh.

"Gosh! My contract wife is so fierce," Glenn said with an innocent face, and teased me with a face filled with an amused smile but strangely, why did this affect my heart.

"You can't be serious, can you?" I asked in an annoyed tone and glared at him.

"I'm actually a very serious person. Right now maybe I'm just too tired," Glenn replied and this time looked at me seriously.

"So, do you still want to know about me or not? You joke all the time," I said changing the subject.

I immediately continued after Glenn nodded while leaning his back on the sofa.

"Hum, of course. Tell me about you in detail," Glenn said.

"I am Aileen Soraya. Usually my family and friends call me Ai. I am the third of three children. I have two older brothers, but my mother has passed away."

"Sorry, I didn't-

"No, it's ok." I said immediately, as Glenn mumbled an apology as I told him about my mother.

"I am now 20 years old. I'm waiting for my graduation. My plan was that after graduation, I work and then go abroad to live a better life. So that my father and two older brothers will proud of me. But you know it yourself that I'm currently..."

"I understand. Since I promise to help pay off your debt, you don't have to worry. When this marriage contract ends, you can continue to pursue your dreams. How about that?" Glenn explained in a soft tone which was different from when I met him at the cafe and also a while ago, he was cold and indifferent.

"Is that true?" I asked and looked at him happily.

"Hum, I'm not a person who like to break promises. I'm going into this marriage by mutual agreement and you just have to play your role as 'my real wife' when Mom is around. That's all. It's very easy, isn't it?" Glenn answered to my happy question.

"Ok, deal," I said with an outstretched hand and he immediately took my hand.

"Deal," Glenn replied in a calm tone with a faint smile.

"His hand is big, soft and warm. From your hand, I can tell that maybe he is a nice person after all. I hope you find your happiness, Glenn," I thought to myself as I smiled brightly at him.

"Ok.... Then where did you go study?" Glenn asked after letting go of our handshake.

"The University Art of City J," I replied excitedly.

"Are you a dancer?" Glenn asked quickly.

I shook my head but also nodded when he asked, making him wince in confusion at my answer. Actually, I was a student with two majors. I took two majors, interior design and dance. I was a ballerina as well as a room designer and I would take a master's degree abroad, to gain experience, also to make it easier for me when competing with dancers out there.

"Why are you shaking your head and nodding too? Strange," Glenn said annoyed.

"You don't need to know about this one. Don't you remember that I have the right not to tell you something that's personal to me," I replied casually.

"Your study is also a secret?" Glenn asked in disbelief.

"Yes!"

"Fine, whatever. Oh yeah.... Remember that starting tomorrow, you will start your assignment. I'll let you go back to your rented house tomorrow to pick up the things you need during your stay here. Tomorrow, I'll also give you an access card to get into the apartment. Now I'll take you to your room. " Glenn replied making me smile happily.

"Yes Boss!" I exclaimed happily and he just snorted while rising from his seat.

"Follow me," he ordered.

"Thank goodness, that he didn't continue the conversation." I thought and followed behind him to a room near the clock I saw earlier.

"Oh, this is a room," I mumbled quietly, but it seemed his ears were sharp enough to hear the low mumbling.

"Heum, to be precise this used to be my ex's room," Glenn said as he opened the door and revealed a room that was ...

"What a mess!!" I exclaimed in surprise, when I saw the appearance of the room that looked like a cowshed.

"I didn't have time to clean up this mess. So, since you're the one occupying this room, please clean it up. If you don't clean it up soon, then your rest time will run out because you postpone it," Glenn said casually, then turned to face me with an impudent smile which looked irritating to my eyes.

"So Aileen, good night," he continued, patted my head, then walked away from me without seeing the expression on my face that was already pathetic.

Slam!

"Gosh! I take back my words about him finding his happiness soon. I swear he will a wife like a witch," I mumbled and tried hard not to pull my hair because of annoyance.

I turned to face the room, which Mr. Glenn Alexander Asshole said that it was a temporary room for me. Then I exhaled hard and hoped that Glenn's mother rarely showed her nose in the apartment. So I didn't have to smile and pretended to be a romantic with him.

"Tsk, I don't want to," I grumbled annoyed and decided to go into my temporary room and start cleaning up.

"The important thing is that I can rest tonight," I continued, shaking off the shapeless blanket.
