Glenn's New Day

Glenn's Apartment

In my bedroom, I recalled the funny reaction Aileen had shown earlier. To be honest, I didn't understand what happened to myself. I had never teased a woman or joked with a woman, let alone brought up anything that led to intimacy.

But this was really strange, why did I tease her with words like that.

Inner needs?

Seriously?

Me?

I had always avoided this kind of intimacy, except for kissing, but that didn't count as an inner need, right?

Ok, no need to talk about that anymore.

What really made me want to laugh was when Aileen saw how messy Zoya's room was. I felt like laughing right then. When Zoya left, she made a mess all over my apartment please underline the word, all over.

I didn't have time to clean it. My job didn't give me time to think for a moment about the state of Zoya's room and now it was Aileen's. I thought, if I got married later, it would mean that my wife and I slept in the same room. So, I didn't have to bother with arranging another room, right?

But, sadly, that would never happen.

"Huft.... But honestly, this is better than living with a woman, whom I have only known for a week, then marrying her. It's better because at least Aileen won't interfere with my private life," I muttered with a long sigh.

Tomorrow was actually my day off because I should go on a honeymoon with Aileen. But, it looked like I have to reschedule the plans. Considering Aileen had activities that I didn't know at all. Besides, I didn't know if Aileen would agree or not, going to a place where my real future wife and I should have spend the honeymoon.

"Well.... Just leave it like this. If she wants to go, then we will go. If she doesn't want to, I better go to work," I decided before taking off the clothes I was wearing.

After I finished taking off the shirt I was wearing, I went to the damp room where I used to clean myself. The next activity, of course, was bathing. My body felt hot and I didn't like it when I slept sticky with sweat.

After taking a shower I took the time to go out to fill my glass with water. I walked out of the room, and went to the kitchen at a leisurely pace. After filling up my glass, I return to my room. However, when I passed her room which was next to mine, I fell silent for a moment.

Standing between her room and mine, I thought for a moment about the real her. I thought about her who was suddenly chased by men because she was in debt, as well as the college major she took and all other things about Aileen. Even if I said that it was none of my business, I still wanted to know about her.

"Huft.... Actually, who are you?" I muttered before deciding to enter my bedroom.

The next day

I woke up with the sun shining on my sleeping face. After yawning once, I got up from lying down to sit down, then continued with a yawn and arms outstretched.

"Ah! How long have I not had such a good sleep," I mumbled asking.

I literally got up and got out of bed. I staggered to the window and opened it.

Creak!

Whoosh!

"So dazzling and fresh. " I whispered with my eyes closed, getting used to the sunlight entering my eyes and the cool morning on my face.

Today was a sunny day which was perfect for burning calories by exercising, and also for shaping my arms which hadn't been training for a long time.

"Hmm.... Yes, it's a great idea. Let's begin a new day with exercise." I mumbled, then changed my clothes into a plain white t-shirt and knee-length training pants.

Creak!

I opened the door and gasped in surprise when my eyes caught sight of a woman, who came out of Zoya's room.

"Ah! I forget. What was I thinking? I almost thought that I went out the wrong door and was somewhere else," I thought stupidly.

"Morning, Uncle!" the woman greeted, the woman I almost forgot, Aileen.

"Tsk, it's still early and you've just pissed people off. Didn't I tell you not to call me Uncle, hum," I replied at length.

I was exasperated by her behavior and made me want to eat her. It was really sunny this morning in my apartment. I who usually woke up peacefully in the morning, now had to be annoyed with my contract wife calling me.

"I hope I don't have hypertension after this," I thought and tried to calm myself.

"Geez, Unc-ups! Ok.... Geez, Glenn. Like you said, it's still early but you're already so sensitive." Aileen said and immediately corrected her call for me after I gave her a sharp look.

She admitted that it was still early, but she was already happy to piss people off with calls.

Sigh!

Since I didn't want to reduce my exercise time, I tried to ignore her, and walked away from her but she followed me from behind with her chatter.

"Hmm."

"Glenn, Glenn," Aileen called.

"Hmm?"

"Glenn, today I'm going back to my rented house," Aileen said with me muttering again, not caring.

"Hmm."

"Why are you only muttering, Glenn?" Aileen asked while pulling the white shirt I was wearing.

I stopped my steps, turned around with a lazy movement so that now the pull of my shirt was released.

"So what do you want me to say?" I asked in a bored tone and looked at Aileen who pursed her lips at me.

"So what do you want me to say," pouted Aileen following my words with a grin.

"Damn, it looks like my today's breakfast is a nail," I thought inwardly annoyed.

"Fine. What do you want?" I relented, reaping a happy shriek from her which made me speechless for a moment because suddenly I had a bad feeling and trust me my feelings were always right.

"I want to ask for money!" cried Aileen with her arms outstretched towards me and not to forget to smile broadly and maliciously at me.

"Money?" I asked confirming and she nodded in agreement.

"Yes, for taxi. You know that taxi fare is expensive, Glenn. " Aileen answered with a reasonable explanation, which made me nod and she squealed happily again.

"Ok."

"Yes-"

"I will also give you money for shopping for kitchen needs. You can buy healthy groceries and fill the fridge completely. You don't want to starve when I'm not in the apartment, right?" I continued firmly.

This time it wasn't a happy scream that she was showing, but a listless and suffering face.

"What is it?" I continued and raised my eyebrows, suspicious.

"I-I...."

"Hmm?"

"I can't cook, he-he."

"Hah!!"

"Ha-ha...."

"Say it one more time." I ordered and turned my face towards her.

I wanted to hear carefully what she said. Maybe I had a hearing problem because I thought I just heard something harsh reality in my life.

"I can't cook," repeated Aileen with a stiff face.

"Unclear! Repeat it!" I command and she immediately repeated her words by screaming in my ear, making my ears ring instantly.

"I can't cook, Glenn!"

"Oh Lord!"

I wiped my face roughly and looked at her who could only grin with her showing shamelessly her straight teeth.

"So, who will cook then If you can't cook?" I asked her in succession.

Please understood why I was shocked when I heard her say she could not cook. All my ex-girlfriends could cook and were independent women.

But Aileen?

She could not cook and was just about to graduate from her education.

"Hmm."

"Oh my God, should I teach you? Geez, what has been taught to you-

I fell silent when I remembered Aileen's mother who was no longer in this world. Was this what made her unable to cook? I looked at her gloomy face, then I sighed again for the umpteenth time.

"Huft.... Ok, let's put it this away. Now you better clean up the living room, sweep, mop or whatever work you can. I'll take a shower first, then take you to your rented house to get your things, after that we go to the supermarket. Agreed?" I explained at length and carefully to Aileen who smiled again.

A smile like this deserved to be painted on her face, rather than the sad face like before.

"Ok, Glenn."

"Good! I take a shower now," I said.

I walkad back to my bedroom, cancelled my workout plans and got ready to be her kind babysitter.

"What a new day.... Damn it," I thought.

I closed my bedroom door and left Aileen in the living room alone.
