Revelations and Shame

Scarlett rose into the night sky in the form of a blackbird, her feathers already damp from the rain. Beady, avian eyes scanned the night time streets of Valais around her apartment building. Every pedestrian hustling from one tattered awning to the next drew her sharp eyes to the movement, each time she was disappointed. No sign of the older man in his fine white linen suit.

Scarlett flapped into the sky once more, turning and landing on a tiled balcony of a higher building, and she concentrated in the flow of the raindrops to calm herself. A tiny ripple in the air preceded her shifting back into her devilkin shape, and she quickly drew her hood up over her head to deflect the rain.
