Soul Searching

The sun was just beginning to show its face above the horizon as Scarlett made it safely back to the apartment she shared with Sagacious. She fumbled loudly with her keys in case she was about to interrupt anything sheèd rather not see, and sighed in relief when the living room and kitchen appeared to be uninhabited. She scanned the room, noting the pile of pillows and blankets still untouched or unused on the couch, and she smiled a little, actually pleased for her roommate. Scarlett hung her heavy cloak on the coat rack and set about boiling a kettle of water.
