BlueCloud Town

Alice woke up from the best sleep of her life, she looked around the room and remembered she was in another world. She yawned as she got out of bed and went to the bathroom. She washed up and changed clothes.

That energy-less feeling had completely disappeared, her body had gained its strength back. She stretched a bit as she looked at herself in a mirror. She then walked out of the room and went downstairs.

She was seeing the house for the first time and quite liked its wooden style. She saw Noah had prepared breakfast and went to him.

Noah could tell Alice was in a much better mood, this also made his mood better.

"Let's have breakfast together," he said cheerfully.

"Okay," Alice answered as she sat with Noah to eat.

As they ate Noah asked, "Should we go out, and see what is outside together after breakfast."

"Sure."

"The book said we would be able to find beginner training facilities in most places, hopefully, we'll have one here."

Alice looked at Noah then at his food. She wanted him to eat quietly

Noah followed her gaze and saw his breakfast, "Fine, I'll eat quietly."

After eating they both got ready to set out.

"It's a must to have a weapon on you if you are outside. We should carry one as well."

The house had one of the corners in the living room filled with all kinds of weapons. Noah took out a one-handed sword and a holographic screen appeared.

[Basic one-handed sword] (No rank)

A normal steel sword.

He checked all the other weapons and they all didn't have a rank. From what the book said weapons were also ranked as skills and talents. So a no rank weapon was the weakest kind of weapon.

Noah hung the sword to his left side.

Alice also reached for a sword similar to Noah but as she picked it up she realised it was too heavy for her. She still tried to hang it to her side but started to fall over.

Noah moved and caught Alice, he then held the sword with her and asked, "Should I carry it for you?"

"No," Alice answered as she left the sword in Noah's hand and grabbed a short sword, its weight suited her much better.

Noah put the sword down he was holding down and hung a shortsword to his left side as well.

After making sure everything was secure he held Alice's hand.

"Let's go."

Alice looked at their hands held and was reminded of the time when they were children and would never let go of each other's hands. But then she remembered she had changed and tried to pry open Noah's hand.

Noah held on tightly but made sure to not hurt her, he looked at Alice who tried to make him let go.

"Can I really not hold your hand?"

Alice looked at Noah, his face pouting as he embodied a sad puppy.

His handsome face acting cute, made her speechless. She ended up letting him hold her hand

Noah and Alice walked out of the house together. They followed the town street until they saw a shop.

"Let's see if anyone is inside." Noah opened the door and entered with Alice.

An old man with glasses wiping the counter with a white cloth.

The man stopped and looked at the two. Then he came to a sudden realisation.

"You two... you should be the ones that were brought here yesterday into that house. So you finally decided to leave? It seems you two are quite cowardly if it took a day to simply come out of your house."

Noah ignored most of what the man said and was just happy that he didn't need to explain anything.

"I have a few questions can I ask you them?"

"Nope! Go straight from here you'll see a training ground. Go ask the man with the thickest moustache, it's his duty to answer your questions."

Noah nodded and walked out. He then walked with Alice with his hand still holding hers.

Along the way, they saw many buildings and shops but most of them were vacant. There was no one else walking down the streets other than them.

At what Noah Assumed the training ground was, Noah saw the man, one with a moustache as the elderly man had said, nearby.

Noah and Alice approached him, he noticed the two and nodded to them. He quickly said something to the other man and then walked to Noah and Alice.

"Ah you two, don't know if your lucky or unlucky to have landed in this town. You should already know this whole world is a trial zone for the eternal Battlefield, I'm sure the system introduces that when you were transported. You two are currently the only people that have arrived here and probably will be for a while." The man said will scanning them.

"Right, just call me Sir Edward. I'm the head of BlueCloud town and will help you answer any questions. But if you didn't already know the system provides a help option that you can access from your status. It will be a lot more helpful in answering questions."

"So what do we do here or how do we go back?" Noah asked the book had covered the topic he still wanted to ask. He already the answer he still wanted to confirm for all sources.

"Do here? Become stronger to help your race survive extinction. As for going back? You'll be able to after seven days from arriving here since the two of you arrived from an access point."

"What if I don't want to come back?"

"Well, that is impossible. You see the eternal battlefield isn't a field trip in where you can choose when whether you want to go or not. It's just a matter of how early you enter it because sooner or later this will be your new home."

Everything he had asked been covered by him while reading the book. The answers were the same.

"How do we get stronger?"

"By killing monsters."

"How do you kill monsters?"

Edward looked like he was looking at an idiot.

"Well, by stabbing it until it dies." He answered while twisting his brows.

"Ok, where can I find these monsters?" Noah decided that it was natural, he had been asking obvious questions since he still wanted confirmation on everything. The only way for him to believe all this absurd talk of this magical world was by continuously confirming it as many times as he could.

"Simply leave the town and enter the forest, it is crawling with monsters. Actually, go kill a few right now and collect 10 copper. You can use that copper to learn a skill at this training ground."

Noah nodded and walked away with Alice. They had weapons so they went directly out of town and into the surrounding forest. He was planning on doing this already. He was curious about monsters and the like.

The forest was planted with rows of trees and patches of grass. The air was unusually fresh and the leaves shaded the sun pouring on them. They only explored the outer area of the forest that was the least dangerous area.

As they walked around they saw their first monster. A small screen appeared.

[Green Slime]

F Class

Level 0

A gooey round blob of green was moving around on the ground.

Noah finally let go of Alice's hand and unsheathed his sword. It was the weakest rank of monsters, F Class. He stabbed it with his sword.

The Slime was slow to react and had the sword go straight through it. Noah pulled the sword out and stabbed it again. At his second stab, it died.

It didn't even try to fight back. After it died a copper coin had dropped, Noah picked it up. The coin was metal, and it had formed from a living slime. It was still hard for him to think it was real, it felt more like deep immersion VR. He then kept it in a small sac he brought from the house and said, "let's kill a few more of these."

Slimes were quite easy to kill, Alice and Noah alternated between each other to kill a slime and take the copper coin it dropped.

After Noah killed the 8th one he looked over to the side, he spotted another monster.

[Grey Wolf]

F Class

Level 1

It was a grey-furred wolf, it slowly walked towards their direction until it spotted them. It was a higher level than the slime although the same class.

"A wolf monster is coming I'll grab its attention and you should attack it."

The wolf ran and jumped at Noah with its mouth open and fangs jutting out. Already in position Noah used the steel sword like a horizontal bar and blocked it. He then pushed back holding it in place. The wolf bitting on the sword growled. Noah made sure it wouldn't be able to release it.

Alice who was at the side held her dagger tightly. The wolf was a lot more ferocious than slimes, her legs started to get weak but she held on and stabbed it. But as she tried to pull the dagger out she noticed that it was lodged in tightly between its muscles.

The wolf getting stabbed stimulated it enough to break away from Noah's control. With dagger still lodged into its back, the grey wolf moved back and howled. It then changed targets and clawed at Alice.

Alice lost all strength and fell to the ground. Everything was too sudden for her. She covered her face with her arms and closed her eyes ready for the bite.

Noah on the opposite side of the wolf expected this and used Flash Step to appear in front of her. Alice didn't feel the bite, she saw Noah blocking the grey wolf with his sword.

Noah used the sword to push the wolf's head to the side and then kicked it. He then turned around and helped Alice up and gave her the shortsword he carried.

"Let's do this again." Noah prepared for the wolf again.

He held the wolf in place, Alice now slashed it, while Noah didn't let it go keeping it busy with himself. Soon it died of bleeding.

5 copper coins and a dagger made of a wolf fang materialised as Alice fell to the ground completely drained. but before she could hit the ground she was caught.

"That was amazing! Great teamwork." Noah then excitedly raised Alice until her eyes were at the level of his forehead and gave her a peck on the lips. Alice jerked her head back in surprise and glared at Noah who was using her tiredness to his advantage,

Noah put her down with a laugh and looked at the coins, they now each had 10. He then grabbed the dagger.

[Blunt Wolf Fang] (F-Class)

A lightly curved dagger made from a dull wolf fang.

Strenght +3, Agility +3, Physique +1

"It gives an attribute boost, Alice you should take it since you killed it."

Alice didn't care who got the dagger, since Noah was readily giving it to her she accepted it. After equipping it, she felt strength fill her body. Her tiredness also disappeared as she hung the dagger to her waist. The increase in attributes helped her recover.

"You worked hard, I'll carry you back." Noah reached to carry her again.

Alice slapped his hand back and stood up.

"I'm fine now, let's go."
