Time passed on earth as well, it had been more than twenty days since Alice wore her locket. The school days were uneventful. Polara and her friends didn't bother Alice anymore. Noah and Alice would spend their time like only they existed in the world.
If anything changed it would be Alice's popularity, seeing her with Noah all the time made her more noticeable. Everyone in school knew who she was. The rumours about her had all been forgotten and everyone wanted to get along with her. As for Noah, his transferring hype had died out and he didn't have people constantly coming up to him anymore.
Teachers had returned and more were recruited. The school was back to normal.
After school, Alice and Noah had kept their training and would occasionally go horseback riding. Most of the time was spent resting and researching the Eternal Battlefield.
Soon the end of the month came.
...
It was the 28th of February today and they hadn't been able to reach RoyalCloud City it would take at least 5-6 more days.
On a Sunday morning, Alice woke up late. She walked out of the room and saw Noah preparing something in the kitchen. She walked into the bathroom and saw a weighing machine kept to the side.
'I've been eating a lot these days, I wonder how much weight increased.'
It had been a while since she last checked it. Seeing the number she was shocked, she had gained over twenty-five pounds. She had checked her weight last around two months ago.
'I gained so much weight in two months. Wait no, I started gaining weight after I met Noah'
Thinking about it, the last few weeks Noah would always have food on him wherever they went. He would always be ready to feed her and she never said no. She ran to Noah who was cooking in the kitchen.
"You! What have you been doing to me?" Alice asked loudly. She knew he had done it on purpose. She didn't mind gaining weight but this rate was unhealthy.
"I haven't done anything." Noah acting innocent answered.
"You've been feeding me so much food for the past week, look at how much fat I gained." Alice raised her shirt showing her stomach. She squeezed the fat, pulling on it.
Noah laughed seeing the pitiful amount of skin she was holding, "I think you still need more," Noah said seriously looking at it. "It's not even fat, you're building muscle. If you want to get better at martial arts you'll need to get heavier, you know you were underweight, right?"
Alice sat down and looked at the bowl Noah had just taken out and couldn't resist. "If you want to take control of my diet, I don't mind just don't feed me too much," said as she ate the pudding Noah had just made.
"I've had a team of nutritionists monitoring my diet my whole life, they've taught me a lot over the years so you're in good hands," Noah said confidently.
It was the weekend so they didn't have school. They hadn't planned anything. Anything Noah wanted to do would be shot down by Alice.
...
Attempt 1
"Hey, want to go sky diving?" Noah excitedly asked walking into the house seeing Alice. In his hand holding a brochure. He had already gone a few times but he always wanted to experience it with Alice.
"No, the Eternal Battlefield is exciting enough," Alice answered sitting on the couch.
Attempt 2
"Hey, we should go scuba diving this weekend!" Noah said looking at his phone. The place was a man-made diving spot, completely safe. He thought it would be fun to go.
"I don't like swimming or water," Alice answered. After experiencing drowning once she wasn't a fan of going underwater.
Attempt 3
"Let's go paragliding there's a place up north-" Before Noah could finish he was cut off.
"Just take me on a ride with the levitation Staff." Alice gamed on her laptop.
Noah walked away, thinking how he would convince her to go with him next time.
...
The two sat on their couch and had a laptop in Noah's lap. They opened the Eternal Battlefield forum, people talked about how more people would be entering tomorrow. The guilds posted recruitment forms and adverts.
Currently, the strongest guild was Moonlight. It was based in the Everlasting Light Capital city and had many members. The guild master and a few members were said to be able to kill D Class monsters. There wasn't much information just rumours going about on the forum about them.
Behind Moonlight was BloodHood and Fallen Heroes. The other two were also based on capital cities.
Other than that, many people were asking about each other's talents and traits. What Noaj noticed was that everyone only had one talent. No one who had spoken up had two or more talents. He had already asked the system about this after he found out Alice only had three talents.
What he had learned was that 99.9% of all species population on the Eternal battlefield had 1 talent. The other 0.1% was mostly two talents while higher than three was extremely rare. The five talents he had was so special, that less than ten other beings probably existed with him with a similar amount of talents.
This had surprised him greatly. A single talent was a complete game-changer. His talents weren't all high rank but had good effects that helped a lot during battles. Other than Truth Seeker that wasn't particularly useful all his other talents were integrated into his combat.
"Tomorrow the forum will get a lot more crowded," Alice said as she scrolled.
"A million people will arrive. The details about the Eternal Battlefield will probably be on the news. We might start seeing effects of the worlds combining soon."
Noah kept the laptop on the table. Alice saw her spot clear up and laid back. Looking up at Noah she asked, "How have I been doing this month?"
"You did great as a whole! You've been improved gradually, if we keep this up you'll be good enough to beat professional fighters soon. Just keep eating well and doing regular exercise."
"Noah, do you actually think that our world will combine with another in a few months? This apartment will probably get destroyed when that happens."
Noah looked at Alice and gave her a kiss, "We'll just build a new house together in the new world, it'll be just our house. Wouldn't that be nice?"
"It would. We have to start saving up from now on. We're going to make my magical dream house a reality." Alice said with sparkles in her eyes.
Alice sat up and turned to hug Noah. Laying her head on his shoulder she said, "Noah, do you think I should keep using a dagger and fight at the front?"
"Why are you asking? You're doing great." Noah stopped what he was doing and turned to her.
"Now that I'm fighting bigger monsters with stronger abilities, I don't have much faith in such a small blade to protect me. I was pushed back the whole fight yesterday and their speed is so fast I can't keep up. I think it might be better to switch to a new Mastery."
After Noah had entered the C Class dungeon for the first time he continued going to other C Class dungeons and trained. He got more equipment and had gotten stronger. D Class dungeons stopped being a challenge so the two had gone to C Class dungeons together. They had done two C Class dungeons and both of them had gone horribly.
Alice had been played around by the Dungeon Lord the whole fight. Even with Noah's support, she hadn't been able to injure it. All her attacks would slide off or miss. The Dungeon Lord was too fast for her. Noah had switched to take an active role and fought the whole fight himself.
In the second dungeon, Noah was reluctant but Alice wanted to try again. So he brought her to fight the Tree of Evil. It had gone even worse. The Debuffs had ruined her battle strength, especially the decrease in agility had crippled her. Noah had carried her around and fought the whole dungeon by himself again.
Alice felt like she couldn't keep up anymore, she had the attributes, the equipment even the skills but it wasn't enough in battles. She wasn't lacking anything other than talent. Seeing Noah being able to finish the dungeon with worse equipment showed her that she wasn't as good at using a dagger as she thought she was.
"Alice it was just a few bad dungeons, you weren't ready yet, you just haven't held a weapon for that long. You're improving at an astronomical speed and will be able to easily go through such dungeons."
"I'm not, I know you won't say it, but I'm holding you back. I can't keep up in C Class dungeons. My brain just wasn't made to process so much information. Even with high attributes, I can't do it. Without you coming in and saving me I would probably have died in minutes." Alice said while looking at Noah.
The situation had changed. Noah had felt like he wasn't improving now that he was Alice felt like she wasn't.
Noah started to understand the problem he had improved too quickly, which had thrown off Alice who was always trying to keep up with him. His normal improvement rate was probably already a challenge for Alice and now that he was going all out, she couldn't keep up.
Realising his mistake he looked at Alice, "Alice I've trained using a gun since I was ten. I can use it with my eyes closed and still have the same accuracy. I have talents that boost its performance greatly so naturally, I'll be stronger. For a normal person killing an E Class monster will be impossible without training. Similarly, you were already strong enough to kill most monsters until now and reached a bottleneck at C Class monsters."
Noah looked her in the eye and said, "Don't give up yet, we should slow down. Give me a month, you'll be strong enough to clear any C Class dungeon alone after one."
"A month is too long."
"We have that kind of time. You need to build a solid foundation of skills. We've already started and you've gotten much better. We should also focus on understanding your talents and traits."
"My talents aren't battle oriented. As for traits I already use both Silent and Thorny well. Special Eyes isn't useful either."
"First thing we should do is start figuring out how Negative Energy works. As a B+ Class skill, it should have a lot more potential." He then coughs a little clearing his throat, "I didn't say anything till now, but you've actually been giving off another energy in the Eternal Battlefield for a while."
"What?" Alice asked in surprise.
"I thought you knew about it, but it seems like you haven't noticed. After hiding your aura I was able to sense it clearly. It should be the Negative Energy stored in your body."
"How do I use it then? I already asked the system about the talent a long time ago." Alice asked excitedly.
"We can try whatever comes to mind first, if that doesn't work when we reach RoyalCloud City, we can research it at the library."
