Tree of Evil

Lying on the ground in a field of grass staring at the fake sky above him, Noah had his arms stretched out as his chest quickly moved up and down. He pulled himself up, waiting for his breath to calm down.

Beside him were four large green stocks connected to pink petals all lying on top of each other. The flowers had large cuts and bruises as they laid dead and withering next to him.

Noah felt the earth vibrate he pulled himself near the flowers and hid. A 6 meter tall monster with a thin body of green and a head surrounded by petals walked on legs made of roots.

[Flower of Sadness]

C Class

Level 46

He had entered a C Class dungeon and was greeted with a completely new world. The dungeon was a completely new fake world. The cave ceiling was gone and replaced with a sky, the walls of the cave were no longer there, he had a large field of grass with a few large rocks around him.

The lighting was an imitation of the sun above brightly lighting the cave. Everything looked real, he would have thought as much as well if he didn't have Spatial Sense.

Inside the dungeon, he could sense that he was just in another cave that had its spatial dimensions stretched making it seem larger. Everything else was just imitation using other kinds of magic.

The monsters here were strong. Unlike other dungeons, the monsters weren't limited to a single type either. He had already seen three types of flowers: Flower of Sadness, Flower of Rage and Flower of Despair.

Each had its own speciality, Flower of Sadness fought using magic, Flower of Rage using physical attacks and Flower of Despair using debuffs.

"I should just go directly to the Dungeon Lord instead of wasting time here." The monsters weren't particularly strong just very high in number. They also had the ability to call other monsters near to them. This made the battle a lot harder as he fought multiple types of flowers. Especially Flower of Despair that would ruin his tempo by constantly debuffing him.

The Dungeon Lord's Lair wasn't as easy to find like in the other dungeons he had been to. In this open field, there wasn't a path to follow that led to it. Using Spatial Sense he was able to tell it was at the center of this world.

Recovering his mana he walked towards the Dungeon Lord's Lair, he didn't use his Levitation Staff to conserve mana and stay out of sight.

Hiding on the ground and using Hide Aura to his advantage he was able to make it to the Dungeon Lord's Lair. He pushed open the large bronze metallic door.

C Class

Level 49

A large tree was set in the middle of a green crystal octogonal cave. The walls of the cave were translucent and reflective showing layers of crystal behind the other. The floor was a large pattern made of tiles as they came together to form a large circular pattern around the tree.

The tree looked dead as its bark was dark and its leaves all drooping. At the centre of its trunk it had a face carved in that opened its eyes and branches shook seeing Noah.

Putting his hand back Noah took off one of the Gravitational Staff he had on his back. He pressed the staff into the ground and activated Grvaitaional Zone. The wakening tree felt a strong pressure on it. Its movements became heavier as it opened its mouth and roared.

The Dungeon lord looked at him and its eyes flashed black.

Evil Glare!

"Damn." Hearing the system Noah moved around near the wall as he shot with Black and avoided blades of leaf the tree was shooting at him. The Debuff he had gotten was dangerous, it had cut down his physique to nothing. He would die in a single clean hit at the moment.

Keeping the distance he spent a quick 15 seconds buffing himself with Speed Boost, Strength Boost and Bulk Up. He felt better now that Bulk Up had increased his physique and cancelled out most of the Debuff. He then activated Death's Dance and Cold Mind. In his peak condition, he approached the Tree of Evil as his steps dodged the sharp blackish-green leaves.

At the right moment, he cast Blind and deactivated the Gravitational Zone skill as he sprinted towards it. He hung Black Wind and unsheathed the Black Estoc. His body then disappeared appearing behind the tree. In a swift movement, he left a Slash then disappeared again.

Thick roots shot out from the ground and attacked the place Noah had been. Its senses delayed by Blind weren't able to keep us with Noah's continuous disappearance. Noah scaled the tree leaving slash after slash. His E Class Blade strengthen by the Sonic Edge enhancer broke through its bark and left sizzling black wounds. as Corrupting Wounds would come into effect.

The tree shook as it used another skill. Pink flower buds grew on its branches and bloomed into mesmerising flowers.

Hypnotic Gas!

Noah distanced himself and shot using Black Wind as he moved around dodging both roots and leaves. He was moving away to wear the dungeon lord down first.

Pink gas was released from the flowers. Noah's vision blurred for a moment as he saw more Trees of Evil appear laughing manically. He felt the world spin, he retreated because of his unstable condition. His mind then started clear soon, as he heard a, ding!

Noah pulled back further trying to get out of the pink gas. The gas was strong, he didn't want ot continue to inhale it.

But as he ran out of the smoke he saw a black fruit coming towards him, he Flash Stepped far away. The fruit touched the ground and exploded out like a grenade.

Noah saw more fruit coming towards him he ran towards the tree and came back to fighting in close combat.

The tree of Evil bloomed more flowers that released another smoke, this one dark red.

Spores of Restriction!

He understood he had been trapped as two roots came at him, he flashed back away. The tree cast another ability.

Curse Magic: Mana Lock!

Noah saw a magic circle form underneath him and bind him with black chains that soon disappeared but left a system notification.

Noah felt his heart dropping hearing the system notification. Having his man attribute locked meant he wouldn't be able to use any of his skills. Death's Dance was deactivated as it needed constant mana to work. His buffs were still active but were going to come off in a few seconds.

Other than Cold Mind he didn't have any skill that would work.

The tree shook as leaves started to fall and spin around it like a tornado.

Leaf Storm!

Thousands of sharp blades of leaves came at Noah. Only in his Cold Mind activated state, he knew he wouldn't be able to dodge all of them, He took out a stone from the potion pouch he wore. It was called a healing stone. he plopped it into his mouth.

It was one of the items that dropped in D Class dungeons. By holding it in your mouth it would slowly heal you and dissolve away.

Hundreds of hand size leaf blades came flowing in his direction like the raging torrent from a river. His hand holding the Black Estoc moved with speed as he deflected one leaf after the other, his mind saw the spatial position of each leaf and allowed him to move his sword with the fastest route.

He deflected as many leaves as he could but some still passed. A green blade passed by his face leaving a cut on his cheek under his silver mask. More came and left cuts on his arm and legs. The Healing Stone worked its magic and healed the cuts quickly but new ones would immediately form.

Holding the position for twenty long seconds, wounds formed, healed and formed again, the storm finally stopped. He pulled out a healing potion and chugged it.

As he did, he saw a white flower bloom on its dark tree bark. His instinct told him to avoid it. He jumped to the side. Ancient Solar Ray! The white flower shot a thick beam of energy where Noah was, strong enough to vaporise him.

Noah shot back with Black Wind. He noticed that the amount of range damage he was doing was minimal. An F Class gun wasn't strong enough to take on C Class dungeons. He had not focused on increasing his damage on the enhancers he gave Firearm Mastery, his damage with the gun was lacklustre. It left small marks as the bullets hit.

The Tree continued its rampage. Its constant attacks falling on him. Energy refilled Noah.

He switched weapons to the Black Estoc, the debuff had finally worn off. He buffed himself again now that he had mana and ran forward. With his sharp-pointed blade, he quickly covered the entire tree in another layer of slashes.

He dodged sharp leaves and fruit bombs with ease now he could use Flash Step. His blade left string like wounds wherever it passed. He manoeuvred around like a spider wrapping up its prey.

The Tree heavily injured started casting again. Noah shot Black Wind Burst to interrupt it but the bullet was blocked by tree roots. The whole tree shook as the flowers that had bloomed to it due to the skills it used loosened and fell off.

Flower Sacrifice!

The tree had green mana cover it healing all its wounds. It started the battle again with a menacing roar.

4 hours passed and Noah was still in the same position he had been at the start of the battle. His clothes were now rags because of the dozen of leaf storms he had been through. The normal leather armour he wore had been shredded. Only his mask was unchanged.

On his back he had the two staffs hung again. He had picked up the Gravitational Staff he had left behind.

The Tree of Evil had already healed five times and was getting ready to heal a sixth time. Flower Sacrifice could be used an unlimited amount of times, completely healing the tree. Noah had tried all he could to stop it. He destroyed the flowers, tried Black Wind Burst, try to cut off branches, nothing worked.

He came to the conclusion, he would need to burst the Tree down before it could heal. That would likely be done by multiple people working together to kill the Tree. Having come this far he wanted to try one more option.

The tree healed again with a green glow. Noah got back to fighting, His mana had long since finished, he was using mana stones he had gotten from D Class dungeons to recover his mana as he fought.

Putting another mana stone into his mouth he got back to cutting the tree. This time he spent less mana, moving with his normal steps, he was already used to how the tree fought and was able to predict its movements.

The Mana Stone in his mouth dissolved away as his mana had been regenerated completely.

Just when the tree was about to heal for the seventh time he brandished the Black Estoc and put all his mana into it. All the mana he had into his blade. He then had an all-out attack as he slashed across the tree cutting it off completely. But he hadn't cut enough. The tree was still connected.

Noah moved back and fell back to the ground with his legs forward, he bent front with Black Wind in his arms. He held it as if it was a sniper rifle, he shot Black Wind Burst, then followed with a stream of bullets like it was a machine gun. Bullets all came to the final connected part, They bombarded the bark, eroding it away.

The tree fell to the side as he finally heard.

[You have Slain the Dungeon Lord!]

Noah to the ground as the tree flashed into light and loot replaced its body.

He drank healing potions and got up to see what dropped.

"Finally I can get a D Class weapon." He went through the drops once and then went through them twice.

"It... didn't drop." He sat back exhausted. "I guess I'll have to rerun the dungeon later, since it's a C Class dungeon it will take two days to regenerate." He had stopped using the horse to travel to dungeons in the night and instead was using the levitation staff. The staff could reach speeds similar to a motorcycle and was much faster than the horse. It used mana as fuel but he could easily recover it.

Compared to D Class dungeons more loot had dropped, but most of it was various materials and low class weapons. Two E Class weapons had dropped but both were wands. The best thing that dropped was a Gold Enhancer called Black Reinforcement that he put away.

He also had armour drop that he could use, it was armguards. They were of dark green jade with silver metal.

Passive Skill: [Mana Regenration] passively allows the regeneration of mana, 1% per minute.

He got up and left the dungeon, He rode on his Levitation staff all the way out avoiding the flower mobs.
