Mana on Earth

Noah opened his eyes as he sat up on the side of his bed, he looked back at Alice sleeping. Then he started touching his arms and chest. 'Why do I feel so weird?' He checked the time to see it was 4:13 AM a little later than he normally woke up.

He stood up and walked a few steps the stopped. His body felt light and energised, his senses were sharp as he could even sense a pigeon landing on the outside of a closed window. He wasn't even close to the window.

'The second last mana wave passed,' Noah thought he then closed his eyes concentrating. There was mana around him, it wasn't even a tenth of the density it was in the Protected Zone.

'The mana density is finally reached a significant level on earth!' Each mana wave added more mana to earth so it could integrate easily with the PRotected Zone. It was finally at a level where living beings were affected by it.

'Status.'

Nothing happened. 'It seems like I still don't have access to the system. But if there is mana, I can use skills.' The system only assisted in learning skills, after that the skills would become yours to use.

The first skill that came to mind was his first and most used, Flash Step! He pulled the energy around his body as he did in the Eternal Battlefield. He looked around, everything looked the same, but he had moved a few centimetres. It wasn't much but that was enough for him.

He recovered his mana tried his other skills but saw that none of them worked. 'It seems like I don't even have the minimum amount of mana needed to use Strength Boost and it's an F Class skill. I guess Flash Step worked since it doesn't have a minimum mana requirement.'

Turning on his phone he checked the Explore the Eternal app and didn't find anything. It made sense, it was still early into the day. He got changed and left to go to the gym.

...

At the gym, Noah supported himself with a wall as he heavily breathed, 'There's been improvement all around. Mana entering my body has made it stronger. Noah then stood up, 'If there's mana around, Qi should be easier to form as well.' He closed his eyes, having experienced it once already he was able to go through the process quickly.

A thin red glow spread on him, it wasn't noticeable to anyone other than Noah. 'It actually formed! It's a lot weaker.' By the time he finished his thought the Qi disappeared.

'The fact it was red shows my talents are active as well. It seems that with no mana around they haven't been able to activate completely and their effects are weakened.' After training for a while he had gotten a good grasp of the situation.

Something confused him about the situation,' Will everyone be able to use talents and skills as I can? I should be able to use them since I entered the Access point and had this body go through the enhancement process, but people who awakened through the mana wave have two completely separate bodies that have no connection. They might have mana now, but without the enhancement process how are they able to sense and control it?'

He left the gym, "I'll see how it goes. It still best if I alter my plan on how to deal with Chris Jhonson." That was the first thing that came to his mind. The Bou Gala was approaching and he had been working hard to set up a feasible plan to force out information. Mana being added could make the mission easier or harder.

...

During their school break, on the roof Noah, Alice and Kira were together.

"So skills are now useable on earth..." Kira said as she played with a baseball-sized fireball between her hands.

"It seems like everyone can use them now, I thought only people through the access point could, but I was wrong," Noah said as he looked at his phone, there was thousands of videos of people showing their skills off. It seemed like their bodies in the Eternal Battlefield were somehow connected to the ones here on earth.

"Don't you think the skills we use are stronger though?" Alice also closed her eyes forming a small fireball, "My fireball is a quarter the size of Kira's but it's still much bigger than the ones online. And those people have a fire talent."

Noah nodded, Alice was able to use quite a bit of her skills however very slowly, F Class magic worked but needed a lot more time to gather energy from the surrounding. After trying a few more times, Noah had been able to make Mana Screen work. It was just the screen was small and thin. It was as strong as glass, it couldn't be used to defend himself.

"So what should we do, it seems that quite a few people have entered the Eternal Battlefield in our school," Kira said as the baseball of fire fizzled out. "Are we revealing ourselves now?"

Alice turned to look at Noah, curious as well.

"It's your choice. I don't think it's necessary to hide it, but I don't plan on telling anyone unless I'm asked about it." Noah answered.

Alice and Kira agreed, the three of them were thinking along the same line. They didn't feel the need to flaunt it. They already got enough attention normally.

"You don't plan on telling them your actual talents, how much are you scaling them down?" Kira asked both Noah and Alice. A and B Class talents were special to the point governments had started making a fuss about them.

The governments of countries had been recruiting high ranking talents and were clashing with the guilds on who could give the best offer. Guilds were still the best option and were more set in the Eternal Battlefield but governments of large countries were giving unfathomable privileges on earth to high ranking talents.

It was best to avoid getting involved, they already had the Rose Foxes. So revealing their talents would only catch the eye of the wrong people.

"I think C Class is quite good. If we don't hide the fact we have multiple talents from which most of them are variants and unique talents. We'll be outstanding enough."

"I didn't think I even needed to hide my talents at first but seeing how a B+ class talent was thought to be much better than a B Class one. I'll probably stick to C Class as well."

"Actually, I recently found out that the government has started preparing a database for talents. By the time the worlds merge, it might be mandatory to have them registered with them." Kira said. this was why she asked the earlier question.

Noah nodded, "I know about that too. But they won't be able to make it mandatory, it'll be impossible to do that in the Protected Zone since we'll have the other towns and cities to reside in. I think they're giving an incentive though. Something along the lines of helping low rank talents find jobs while recruitment contracts or benefits for anyone above D Class. That will be more than enough."

Kira nodded, she had found out about it from her parents, but the mandatory part was still being debated by the government. With how logical Noah's argument sounded she couldn't help but be convinced.

The bell rang and the three got up to go back to class.

...

After school the three were training together in building D, Kira had her phone buzz. She got a message from Vince. She stopped, 'I still haven't told Alice and Noah about it yet, I'll have to tell them soon.'

"I'll be leaving now," Kira said. She then walked to the MMA club. Vince stood outside alone. Seeing he smiled and walked to her.

"Why weren't you here today?" Vince asked.

"I don't need to come to the MMA club anymore since the Instructor is back. I was only helping temporarily."

"Really? Then that means I don't get to see you as often." Seeing that Kira was contemplating, he changed the topic, "Actually I was looking forward to sparring with you today. Since the club ended early do you want to come in?"

"Sure." Kira walked in, the two got into place.

"It'll shock you how much I changed." He said.

Kira furrowed her brows, trying to understand what Vince meant.

Vince then moved forward and punched. Kira caught it and was astonished by the power behind it. She started getting an inkling why Vince was so excited.

Vince kicked up and Kira ducked, she stepped back as Vince moved a lot faster than normal. He was able to grab her clothes, he used all his strength to push her to the ground.

Kira was actually unbalanced by Vince's strength, seeing that she was falling, she moved her feet forward slid them under Vince's to make him fall, she then grabbed him as they fell and twisted her body. He hit chest first into the ground with Kira sitting on his back holding his arm in a lock.

Feeling his arm being held strongly, he couldn't break the hold, "I give up." Kira let go.

He sat up, "I still couldn't win even though I was confident this time." Vince sighed, he then looked at Kira, "I improved a lot, right? Are you curious why?"

"Are you not going to tell me?" She asked back.

"Fine... It's because... I entered the Eternal Battlefield yesterday!"

Kira acted surprised and listened to what Vince had to say.

"I have a B Class talent and started with a C Class skill. I've even joined Moonlight! Soon I'll be joining the elite team and running B Class dungeons. I'll be improving even faster from now on. I'll become strong so I'll be able to protect you in dungeons when you enter."

Vince had assumed Kira hadn't entered. Seeing how excited he was Kira didn't want to burst his bubble and tell him she had entered early, however, it was best to tell him early.

"Vince... I entered the Eternal Battlefield last month." She slowly said. Kira had altered the truth to hide information about the Access point.

"W-wait, you already entered?"

"I did, I've also joined a guild called the Rose Foxes, so I won't be able to enter dungeons with you for now."

"Oh..." Vince lost all the excitement. He asked carefully, "Should I leave Moonlight?"

"No, it's a new guild in the Eternal Battlefield, its resources can't compare to what Moonlight can give you. Don't leave Moonlight. You've got great potential, but you'll still need to work hard if you want to protect me." Kira said with a smile.

"I won't let you down," Vince said.

Kira then got up and started leaving, as she walked out the door she remembered something, "By the way, I'm free this Sunday."

Vince confused at first, understood what she meant, 'she's telling me to ask her on a date! Our first date!' He started planning their first date.
