The Dungeon of the Spiderlings, The Caverns of Laroshia

With the newfound knowledge of the location of The Caverns of Laroshia, Eidiri set off on foot, intending to take a look and try to get this quest done.

Following the South Road leading out of the village, Eidiri set out after stocking up on some basic provisions, stuff like some foodstuffs from Ken and the like.

After these preparations were all made and done, Eidiri set out to the road, following the trail to the Caverns.

Only about a minute walk from the village and the signs were already not looking too great.

The trail had completely disappeared, being swallowed by the lush bushes and low-lying grasses.

Apparently, a crisis had occurred in these caverns a long time ago.

From the information that Jarid had bestowed upon him through the inheritance method, it revealed that Jarid used to be the foreman of the Caverns, running a Dwarven Mining Operation.

However, one day when they were preparing another load of D grade Glass Explosives to open a new mineshaft, disaster struck.

Surprisingly, it wasn't a human error, or rather a dwarven error.

The explosion didn't blow anyone up, rather it was the aftereffect of the explosion.

After what was supposed to be the new mineshaft was opened up, dozens of spiders swarmed out in a frenzy, and the dwarves ran away in a panic.

After the spiders had swarmed out, the dwarves were left with no choice but to abandon their mining venture.

All of the other dwarves, besides Jarid of course, set course to their homeland, hoping to restart their lives there once again.

However, Jarid never truly gave up hope for the caverns, and as such opened his blacksmith in the village.

After all these years, finally, just maybe someone would be able to clear those caverns now, and Jarid may live out his mining dreams.

But anyways, Eidiri equipped his knife, unsheathing it from the scabbard fastened to his hip, swinging it around to clear the shrubbery.

Slowly but surely he worked a rough path through the dense vegetation.

Bits of leaves and grass were flying around, specks of dirt covered his face, but EIdiri persisted on.

However, after a long duration of time had passed, Eidiri didn't know exactly how long, the sun was being covered by the trees, his arm started to throb with pain.

He was overusing the muscles, the bushwhacking tiring him immensely.

After a brief 10 or so minute rest, Eidiri ate up some of the prepackaged food Ken had supplied him, a rather cold meal of a rudimentary Tuft Lechen Sandwich, Tyranny's version of chicken.

WIth the brief break over, Eidiri stood up once again, swinging his arms in circles and stretching them, preparing himself for the arduous work ahead.

From the cracks in the leaves overhead, all he could tell was that the sun was still out, Eidiri hoped he would be able to make some decent progress.

Then he continued on with bushwhacking, a rather monotonous, boring activity.

The familiar ache in his arms set in, the only noteworthy thing of this adventure so far was when he cut some of the bushes and Sparkrabbit leaped out of it, speedily making its escape.

A chop here, another chop there, blades of grass and twigs were sent flying everywhere Eidiri walked.

From time to time he would see some sort of fruit to snack on, at those times he would clear a path to the trees and pluck the fruits off of the low-lying branches.

Of course, not all of the fruit was fully ripe yet and left Eidiri with an unpleasant sour taste in his mouth that he simply could not get rid of.

Dusk was quickly approaching by now, and Eidiri had made some decent headway to the caverns, it wouldn't be too long until he had actually reached the caverns.

With dusk quickly coming, and the light receding, Eidiri decided to call it quits here for the day, taking shelter under a low-lying rocky outcrop not far away from where he had stopped.

Opening his rucksack, he withdrew a large cloth and wrapped himself in it, staving off the cold. Then he took the dreadful, cold meal from the rucksack and chowed down on it.

Despite the quality of the food is less than palatable, it's not like he had other choices. Eidiri was starving after all that physical labor, and although he considered creating a fire to warm the food, there were several problems with that idea.

He had no idea how to create a fire being the most important out of those problems, it's not like he had a fire starter kit or some sort of flint-steel contraption.

In hindsight, that was a major oversight, but he'll move on.

Laying there underneath the rocks, Eidiri had much difficulty falling asleep, the rock being too uncomfortable for his head, but eventually, he drifted into blissful unconsciousness.

The next day Eidiri woke up with an awful crick in his neck, slowly rolling it to try to get it out.

Standing up he reached his arms above him and stretched, letting off a satisfied sigh as his joints cracked.

From then on, Eidiri went back to the same thing he had been doing the day before, the oh-so-action-packed life of the adventurer.

And while this activity was really quite dreadful, at least the benefits would be substantial. After all, not everything in games can be action-packed, bursting with fun.

About 4 hours in, sweat was practically dripping of Eidiri, having long since forsaken a shirt to try to get a little bit cooler.

Of course with the act of removing the shirt, it also resulted in him opening himself up and inviting himself to get bitten by bugs.

But he persisted towards, occasionally slapping away at the irritable insects that pestered him.

Then as he took another uneventful swipe at the grass, it revealed a stone.

While stone would normally be unremarkable, this stone was polished and cut, something that the workers of the cavern provided as a service before they had abandoned the business.

Seeing this stone brought new life into Eidiri's actions, the knowledge of his journey being fruitful spurring him onwards.
