The Spirit of Adventure

After the legal counseling matter was settled, Rowan didn't immediately head back home to log back into Tyranny.

He decided to get some shopping done while he was in the city, getting some groceries and getting some other things for his parents to enjoy.

After all, now that he had so much cash, it was only right to repay his parents for raising him for all this time.

He wouldn't make any outlandish purchases like a car or something, he knew his parents wouldn't accept such an audacious gift.

Not to mention he still had yet to reveal that he had acquired a modest fortune to them, he mused to himself.

Eh, he shrugged his shoulders after a brief moment of thought, he would tell them when he got back.

It wouldn't hurt to get their thoughts on the contract either, after all, they had been nagging him on getting a job.

He picked up some miscellaneous groceries, a small pack of rice, a slab of beef, a head of lettuce, and 3 tomatoes.

After that quick trip to the grocery store, he hailed a taxi, telling the driver to go to the nearest luxury mall.

The drive was more or less 10 minutes, and with that time Rowan browsed through his phone, idly scrolling through the mall's catalogs, seeing what he should buy for his parents.

Something he had already settled on was some nice clothes, aside from that he had no clue.

Perhaps he should get them some chocolates? That would be nice, wouldn't it?

With his mind made up, he went about making some purchases, swiping his card.

While he did just experience a rapid income of wealth, he was careful not to spend it too wastefully, who knows if this Tyranny thing would be stable? Perhaps in a week, someone would've taken his place.

After getting all of the presents, he took the SkyTrain back home, logging back into Tyranny, if he wanted to stay at the top he would need to be constantly progressing. Stagnation would lead to failure.

Checking the friends tab, Ken and Edgar weren't online right now.

With them being online, he would have to go solo grinding, however, he still had to work in the forge for his pay.

Personally, he had already amassed 2 silvers worth of cash, a small portion of it coming from the forging while the majority of it being looted.

Heading into the shop, after a quick greeting to Jarid and Leif, he set to work on some of the orders that had come in, following the blueprint that Jarid gave him.

First, he made a sturdy pickaxe, making sure to use the Dwarven Son technique.

With each order he completed, Eidiri would collect a minor commission from the order. The more orders he completed = more profit.

With this in mind, in just under 3 hours, Eidiri had completed 5 orders through liberal use of multitasking, working on many orders at the same time.

A sword, a dagger, an ax, some farming equipment, all sorts of things came through the shop.

Not all of them even wanted a fully new product, most of the orders they received as a matter of fact were repairs, things like fixing a shattered blade or something like that.

After this was completed, Eidiri had added another 87 coppers to his funds, nearly a full silver.

A quick look at the clock told him that he would be able to play for another 2 hours, now it was time to get some grinding done.

Before he left to the areas that Edgar had previously explored though, Jarid stopped him before he left the door.

"Hey kid, you're going on one of those adventures or something?" he asked.

"Yes master, what about it?" Eidiri asked.

"Well if you wanna get a bit extra, you can help me mine some ores from the Caverns of Laroshia. It's a dungeon so be careful," Jarid said.

"Umm... Master Jarid? While I would like to help us out and all that, there's a small problem with the mining you want me to do," Eidiri hesitantly said.

"What's that boy?" Jarid asked in slight confusion.

"The thing is I don't know how to mine," Eidiri said bluntly.

Hearing this, Jarid only boisterously laughed, "Hahaha, that's not a problem at all kid! You know who you got as a master? A bloody dwarf that's what!"

"Not knowing to mind isn't a problem at all!"

"Here, let me impart the teachings to you," Jarid said motioning for Eidiri to come over.

This little interaction was truly a great harvest for Eidiri, not only did he get information on what he thinks to be the first dungeon but he would also get a mining technique.

A small wisp of light floated from Jarid's hand, with a slight flick of his fingers, the glowing orb was transferred to Eidiri.

When Eidiri reached out to touch it, his hand phased through it, the orb slowly becoming a fine mist and sinking into his palm.

A burning sensation then burst through Eidiri's head, and he began to scream.

"Oh balls, damn kid. I know it hurts, but it's gonna get better soon," Jarid said panickedly.

"It hurts like this on the first time, it'll get better over time."

And true enough, after the initial searing pain, after a while the pain slowly started to fade away.

When Eidiri had finally overcome the pain, although a bit loopy, an exuberant expression came across his face.

Not only had he received the knowledge of where the Caverns of Laroshia were but the knowledge of basic mining was also imparted onto him as well.

However, this method of imparting knowledge left Eidiri quite confused.

"Umm... Master Jarid? Not that I mean any offense but why didn't you impart your forging knowledge from before as you did now?" Eidiri asked.

To that, Jarid replied, "Not that I mean any offense to you kid, but I didn't trust you before. Besides, you weren't officially my apprentice before. It's a really personal process, and people aren't going to go around giving what they learned away like that, ya know."

"Well anyways, run along now kid. Get me that ore. Doesn't matter what you get, I can really use anything," Jarid said, urging him along to the dungeon.
