Hashing the Details Out

In response to Rachel's message, Eidiri replied, "Thank you for your sincere advice. In regards to the contract that you have provided, I will send a reply within a week."

"Furthermore, I have another question to ask. Would it be possible to obtain contracts for my friends Edgar and Ken?"

"Surely you must know about how they have advanced quite far as well. Edgar was the one doing the auction with me before and Ken helped us obtain those weapons."

"I do have to say though, I won't be joining Protinus if my friends can't join also. There would be no issue if they weren't skilled, but the fact is, they have some serious advantage over the other players," Eidiri said.

"Your opinion on this matter will be taken to the board. Your thoughts on this will be taken into consideration."

"If it's any help, you friends are being considered for positions here at Protinus," Rachel replied.

"Thank you for your time, you can expect a reply from me within a week after I discuss with a legal advisor," Eidiri said.

This ended their correspondence, Rachel expecting a follow-up reply from Eidiri within a week.

Turning to Edgar, Eidiri said excitedly, "Edgar! Guess what! You might get a contract from Protinus if you really want to."

"Really now? I'll have to think about that. I might not want to get signed to an official contract. I'll probably discuss something if they really do extend the offer. I'll tell Ken about it also. Don't worry about it," Edgar said.

"Really? Cool, thanks. With that settled I'm going to head off now, it's getting pretty late. Gotta go see about getting some sort of legal advisor for this thing," Eidiri said, tossing a quick wave before heading off.

With that Eidiri logged out, going to his laptop and searching for reputable legal advisors within his community.

He came upon the one, Mrs. Quinzel, an up-and-coming legal advisor who supposedly truly sought to help the people solve the problems rather than just going after the cases that would bring in the most money.

After a bit of deliberation over the other legal advisors and a quick check with his schedule tomorrow, he decided to head to Mrs. Quinzel's office first thing tomorrow seeing how it was a free day.

With that, he went to bed, and after tossing and turning for a bit thinking about his next actions in Tyranny, he finally fell asleep.

The next morning, after scarfing down a quick breakfast that was microwaved, Rowan hopped onto the first SkyTrain heading into the city.

After 2 transfers and a bit of delay, Rowan arrived at the office of one Mrs. Quinzel.

Opening the door to the law firm, he was greeted by the receptionist, "Hello my name is Diane, now what is your business here today?" she asked.

"I'm here to see Mrs. Quinzel. I know I didn't schedule an appointment but I'm wondering if here schedule is free right now and I can just walk in."

"If she's busy right now then it's fine and I can just come back later with an appointment then," Rowan said.

"Oh no, it's fine. Mrs. Quinzel isn't actually seeing anyone right now. However, do be aware that there is a fee," Diane replied.

"Oh, yeah sure. I checked the site. I'll just swipe my card here if that's alright?" Rowan said, moving to make the payment.

He really had no troubles making the payment, after all, he had just raked in quite the sizable profit from all the weapon sales.

After the payment process was done, and the transaction was verified, the receptionist pointed Rowan down the hall, "Just go down that hall and take a right. Mrs. Quinzel's office will be all the way at the end."

"Thank you," Rowan replied politely.

And with that, he made his way to the office.

When he arrived at the room, he knocked at the door, a muffled voice responding from inside, "Just give me a minute."

And with that Rowan stood there awkwardly, not really knowing what to do. Just sort of twiddling his thumbs and looking around.

There was a rather boutique in this ornate vase but that was irrelevant.

Then the door opened, revealing a slightly disheveled woman, presumably Mrs. Quinzel.

"Sorry about that, I was tidying some papers," they shake hands, "Mrs. Quinzel pleased to meet you."

"Take a seat, now what exactly have you come here for? Advice, consultation...?"

"I'm here to ask for consultation in regards to a particular contract I've been offered. Just need to make sure everything all right with it and nothing hidden that would, well you know, harm me," Rowan said.

With this said, Rowan took the printed contract from his bag, sliding it over to Mrs. Quinzel.

Taking it, she started reading it carefully, looking for any dubious content that would be suspicious.

Putting down her pen, she raised her head up from the papers, "After a quick glance there doesn't seem to be anything wrong here. It's just your standard contract. It's honestly quite beneficial towards you."

"You play Tyranny? Cool. Well, this is just saying that you work to help them progress in the game by offering your resources and abilities."

"There's no time constraint or anything, I'm really quite surprised," said Mrs. Quinzel.

"What do you mean time constraints?" Rowan asked.

"Well you know how often times there would be so and so and they have to work for a certain amount of years due to contractual obligations? Yea that's pretty much because of the time constraint," Mrs. Quinzel explained.

"Oh, thanks for clarifying."

"No problem. This really is quite a favorable contract for you though. I don't understand why Protinus would make a move such as this."

"My advice would be to just accept this, you're not going to get any better offers than this," Mrs. Quinzel said.

"Overall, I see no legal problems with this. If you want me to take a second look though I can, we still have time for that," Mrs. Quinzel offered.

"Oh no thank you, I'm good as is. Thank you for your time, but if the contract's good and all then I'll be taking my leave," Rowan said.

"Oh, well see you then, have a nice day," she replied.

"Thank you, you too," Rowan said as he left the office.
