Auction Finalized

Upon hearing this woman say how it's a free auction, many people who were initially harboring their frustrations in secret began to voice their complaints.

"Yea it's a free market!"

"C'mon, you think just cuz you big you can just hog up everything?"

"Ai yo, you can't just do that!"

Many supporters came out to back up this woman's statement.

Then the woman said, "Greetings, Mr. Eidiri. I'm Rachel, representative of Protinus. If we could get the bidding going once again that would be grand."

Eidiri and Edgar both developed positive impressions of this woman, seeing how she respected the arrangements they had made.

Not to mention Protinus was also a 1st rate guild, them being long rivals with Emperium.

Although the set bonus wasn't too remarkable, the fact that most of them were complete sets practically caused everyone to lose their composure and salivate.

Eidiri decided to not set an initial bid this time, deciding to freely just let others decide the value of their armor.

Clearly, by their reactions, the prices would be satisfactory.

In the beginning, the influential players held their cards close, waiting for the minor characters to exhaust themselves out.

This was the moment when the independent players took a stab at it, the first bids being small figures at around $20 to $50.

Then some lower-tier guilds bumped the price up a bit more in the higher hundreds range.

At this point, the price had already gone beyond the salaries of some people, how could independent players afford this?

The price then got boosted, even more, rising out of the reach of the 4 rate organizations.

This process kept on repeating until the overall price of the sets had reached the height at which only the upper echelons could truly afford.

Surprisingly enough, the first pieces of armor were secured by an independent player by the name of Joshua.

Of course, this Joshua was filthy rich, whaling money on a game he didn't really place any importance on.

He didn't manage to obtain a full set but did get a chest piece and headgear.

The other loose pieces ended up in the possession of a 2nd rate group by the name of Energi.

Energi had to pay a hefty price however, the loose pieces ended up being around $40,000, an astronomical price.

But of course, the price only reached this height due to competitors driving the price sky-high and then backing out last second.

From then on, the show was stolen by the 1st rate guilds like Emperium and Protinus.

Emperium managed to secure 1 set while Protinus managed to secure 2. The rest of the sets were split among the other 1st rate guilds like Heresy and Sanctimonium.

When the auction finally ended, Eidiri and Edgar swiftly packed up their stuff, congratulating each other on the massive earnings they had obtained.

Of course, they left a cut of the profits for Ken as well, seeing as he helped them obtain the goods in the first place.

As they were talking about how they would use this money, a private message appeared in Eidiri's mailbox.

Interested, he decided to take a look at it. As he opened his mailbox, swarms upon swarms of messages fell upon him, most of them being offers to be employed in a particular guild.

What was unique about this private message was that it came from Rachel, the Protinus representative from before.

The message read,

"Greetings Mr. Eidiri.

I hope I haven't disturbed you but we at Protinus believe that we have an offer you won't be able to refuse.

Without a doubt, you have most likely been swarmed by countless offers of recruitment, but we at Protinus are willing to pay a premium to get you under our employ.

Almost anything is negotiable and you need not worry about the conditions as surely you have heard about our sparkling work environment and reputation.

- Rachel, Protinus Presentative."

"Hold up real quick," Eidiri told Edgar.

"What's up?" Edgar asked.

"Well, you know that Rachel lady from the auction?"

"Yea what about her?" Edgar asked in confusion.

"She just made an offer for me to join Protinus," Eidiri blankly said.

"Really! What're the details?" Edgar asked excitedly.

"Nothing much to be honest. Everything's negotiable. They probably want to make use of the early lead I've obtained."

"Don't worry though, I won't join without you or Ken. Surely they can't overlook the benefits you guys have to offer," Eidiri said.

"Well ask about the details then!" Edgar urged him.

Eidiri typed a quick response in reply to Rachel, "Hello there. You've certainly caught my attention. By any chance would it be possible to know exactly what role I would be taking on and what benefits I would get by joining Protinus?" he asked.

Very quickly a response was sent back, "Well, as you've probably determined. Due to the vast early lead you possess, we aim to use your resources to develop our guild in-game. Not to mention we intend to make our players far stronger based on the benefits you bring to the table."

"We've gone through your blog carefully and the information you possess is also quite useful. As such you would most certainly be a core member of the guild as long as you continue to prove yourself."

"Not to mention that you may be granted higher roles so long as you wish it and prove yourself capable for the position."

"Thank you, Rachel. Now that my role has been cleared up I'm left wondering as to the potential benefits on the table that as you claim, would definitely convince me to join you guys over the hundreds of other organizations that wish to sign me."

"Well, you'll be granted a hefty salary as well as suitable living arrangements. Your family will be taken care of as well. If you would like further details I can supply a link to a contract that you could go over."

"I would recommend hiring the services of a legal advisor for this. There won't be any points left in the air of course but for your peace of mind it would be good to have legal advice to ensure our reputation," Rachel said.
