Do You Think Spider-legs Would Taste Great?

Ken swung himself on top of Sha'Varsk's head, taking the burning wood in his hand, the wood that had fashioned into the shape of a rough stake.

Taking this burning stake, Ken lifted it above his head before thrusting it downwards, fiercely stabbing it downwards into Sha'Varsk's skull.

As the bone shattered, and the cerebrospinal fluid sputtered out as the flames from the rudimentary stake devoured the entirety of Sha'Varsk's head.

Ken's palms dripped with perspiration the fire burning his own skin also, yet he refused to let go, steadfastly maintaining his grip as he drove the stake even further into the matriarch's skull.

Sha'Varsk screamed in pain, shrieking as its brain literally melted. Flailing its remaining 4 legs, it limped around, trying to throw Ken off from on top of it, shaking its body back and forth.

Seizing this moment, Eidiri reached out for Steel Song, grasping it firmly in his hand before striking upwards.

The blade passed through Sha'Varsk's head from underneath, slicing through the flesh finally putting an end to this tiresome fight.

As Sha'Varsk's death throes faded, Ken unceremoniously fell from up top.

"Oh god, that was some bullshit over there," he complained.

"You good there bro?" asked Edgar.

"I'll be fine, it's just a game, but yet it feels so real though. Ah well, never mind," Ken mused. "Just give me a minute," Ken plopped himself on the floor, collapsing into a heap after that arduous fight.

"Hey, not that I don't want to give you any rest Eidiri, but we should really harvest the corpse before the fire claims us all," Edgar pointed out.

"Yea," Eidiri panted, "Just give me a minute, I'll get right to that. Let me just take a quick rest."

They sat on the floor, pushing some corpses to the side to clear some space, the flames dancing in the background casting their flickering light throughout the room.

After taking a short break, Eidiri stood up from where he had been resting, moving over to the gargantuan corpse of Sha'Varsk.

Taking Steel Song he slowly cut from the neck through the abdomen and down to the spinneret glands.

At times he would hack/saw through bone, cleaving his way until the corpse was eventually split in 2, the smoke intensifying as he did so.

"The fire's getting real close, we don't have much time 'til it blocks the tunnel guys," Edgar commented.

"I'm working man. I'm working. Chill," Eidiri said.

With that done, Eidiri now moved to the head, instructing Ken to go about harvesting the abdomen that was now split open.

"You think I got a clue dude?" Ken asked in disbelief. "I don't jack about this harvesting stuff."

With that, incredulity took over Eidiri's face as he worked on removing Sha'Varsk's spider fangs.

"And you somehow think that I somehow have tons of experience dissecting ginormous killer insects?" Eidiri asked sarcastically.

"You really think so?" he repeated. "Man just grab anything in there. Screw it. That's what I'm doing. Just think about what would sell, things like the fangs I got here."

"Speaking of which, Edgar you go and grab parts of the legs, might be useful," Eidiri said.

With that done they each went about their business, trying to get as many valuables off of Sha'Varsk as they could.

As they were working Edgar commented, "I can't help but notice that there really weren't any treasures like skill books in here. Would be nice to expand our repertoire a bit. Wouldn't you think a boss mob like this would have some sort of cool equipment or skill?"

"It probably has some sort of loot table with set drop rates. If we didn't get much then just call it unlucky, after all, we won't be able to just farm Sha'Varsk and all that," Ken said.

Eidiri interrupted the discussion, "Hey guys, I'm done cutting the fangs off here. What about your ends?"

Ken replied, "Oh yea we've been done we've just been waiting on you to finish up."

With that, they headed back to the tunnel, leaving back the way they had come, leaving the burning hellscape of the ruined cavern behind.

Oh, Jarid would not be pleased with the sight of that when he came to restore these mines.

Climbing back up the stairs they finally left the cabin, getting their first taste of fresh air in a while.

"So now that we've done the cabin, should we go ahead and take a gander at everything else now?" asked Edgar.

"Yep, yep." Eidiri replied, "Though I doubt it'll be much, especially given how the goddamn boss monster was literally down there."

They starting venturing beyond the cabin, taking a look at the tunnel that led further into the mines.

As they delved deeper and deeper the light gradually receded, Ken having to construct another shoddily made torch, expending their last matches.

It seemed like a rather ordinary mine, some ores, a couple of minecarts here and there, pickaxes strewn about, etc.

Nothing was really out of the ordinary, perhaps it could've been that the Spiderlings hadn't quite claimed this section of the mines.

Or it could be something entirely outlandish, maybe something like another boss, Eidiri grumbled to himself.

Then Ken, who was walking ahead of them all, pointed at something in the distance, "Hey guys doesn't that look familiar?"

"This again?" Edgar complained.

"All right, let's just get this over with, who's going at the bottom?"

They played a quick game of rock, paper, scissors, Edgar throwing his hands in the air when it ended up as his loss.

Then Eidiri and Ken dueled, Ken coming out as the victor.

They piled up, Edgar lifted the combined weight of Eidiri and Ken, Ken being stacked on top of Eidiri while Eidiri was on Edgar's shoulders.

"Move a little forward," Ken asked Edgar, "Okay yeah, that's good," he said as he pulled yet another one of those stalactite levers.

The low-pitched grumbling of a rock wall shifting came from behind them, revealing a spacious room, the entirety of it was empty, besides the odd bit of moss here.

Confused, the 3 of them walked into the room, unsure if it was a sinister trap.
