Chapter 19— FRANK IS DEAD!

Our family and friends knew nothing 'bout what was going on. I was sure the police would be here any time soon.

"Frank, you don't have to do this!"

David tried to calm frank down with his words as he walked slowly and closer to the man with a gun.

"Think about what the news would say about you, think of yourself, what about your sentence? If the authorities find that you've escaped, your years in prison would be extended. I know you're not a killer, please drop the gun!". David continued cautiously.

It seemed as though Frank was listening to David a little bit, David was close enough to him now, he rushed at Frank in a swift motion, he pushed Frank down to the floor, just then, the gun released a shot in the air once more. I was glad to see Frank on the ground and his gun away from him.

The two men struggled on the ground, and David was stronger. He sat on top of Frank's back and pinned his hands down just a little below his waist. Just then, the police arrived in their cars alerting the city with loud sirens.

"Freeze! Police! Put your hands behind your head right now, both of you!".

The first police man announced as he rushed out of the car with a gun pointing at David and Frank. We were now surrounded by armed police men. I quickly moved to David's side.

"Officer, the man right there on the floor attacked us with a gun!".

I had to point out the truth some how, I was unsure if the men would listen.

All those in the restaurant rushed out, they kept murmuring and pointing to the man on the ground. David and I were escorted by the police to one of the police cars, we were both handcuffed. On our way to the car, we saw Frank struggling with a police man, the old man grabbed on to the officer's gun, pulled it out, and shot at David.

Immediately, another police man shot down Frank!

The bullet from Frank's gun, pierced into David's left arm from behind. David fell to the ground in pains, I screamed in great shock and horror. He was quickly assisted by the paramedics to an ambulance van. David was hurriedly laid on a stretcher and rolled into the back of the van. I glanced behind us to see Frank lying dead on the ground, he was covered in blood. For some reason, I was sad and felt pity for Uncle Frank.

"Oh no! Frank is dead!". These were the words I whispered as I followed David into the van.
